I was torn between Hegseth and Homan in the poll. Both

I had the same problem, but my prejudice decided for me. Anybody who can instantly prove that AOC is a stupid, ignorant blowhard has my vote, so it was Homan.

He was brilliant in that hearing

He was also excellent on that 60 Minutes interview.

I agree it was a tough choice, however, as a veteran, I chose Hegseth. He will have to deal with a large number of arrogant and incompetent generals and career civilians who, not only oversaw our botched withdrawal in Afghanistan, but have tried to turn the military into a social justice experiment, and weakened every branch in terms of effectiveness.

The left acts like "rifs" have never happened but they actually have happened several times since WWII. Not sure axing general officers for their woke programs is in keeping with an actual "reduction in force" but close enough for me. Generals don't create policy, they enforce the policies of the C-i-C. Somewhere along the line, there became an overlap between the duties of general officers and political ideologies. I have known and worked for several General Officers in my time. I found the one and two stars sharp, quick, and professional. But above two stars, there was a mixed aura about them, like they were too far away from issues to actually understand them. No science to that, just my perception.

Obama’s reign over the military went after the Officer Corps and got rid of anyone having warrior tendencies. Biden kicked it into high gear.

I am most looking forward to two events in the next four years:

1. The day Chris Wray is arrested for his role in using the FBI to conduct illegal and unconstitutional attacks on Donald Trump and Matt Gaetz, and

2. The day Anthony Fauci is arrested, tried, and convicted of the greatest crime against humanity - bigger than the holocaust - and given the death penalty for his handling of the plandemic.

And Fauci giving up the $300 million he grifted in ‘patent royalties’ for all of the NIH patents they grifted from their Government jobs. And to go on trial live on CSPAN with a video of EACH beagle (w vocal cords surgically removed) that he staked out in African deserts to observe how sand flies killed them, funded by NIH grant of US taxpayer money.

I am becoming more and more convinced that we needed those 4 years of Biden, miserable as they have been, as a wakeup call to the country. To make everyone see the disastrous direction progressives had been taking us to pave the way for the true reformer Trump has become. It also gave him time to learn and plan accordingly. It almost seems like it was planned....hmmm.

The only quibble I have with that is that deceitful euphemism, "Progressives". They stand for progress about as much as Attila the Hun.

I truly thought that, given Biden’s weakness and obvious dementia and his woke administration, we would get hit by terrorists on our own soil and ultimately have been at the mercy of Putin, Xi, the mullahs, and every other bad actor on the planet. Perhaps the only thing that kept them at bay was their knowledge that they very well might have to deal with President Trump in the future.

Expand full comment

Don't get too comfortable. I recommend reading Kurt Schlichter's book "The Attack" (on kindle) that he wrote post 10/7 and describes a 'fictional' 10/7-style attack happening on U.S. soil. In no way do I think we're out of the woods. Hopefully DJT will be able to root out the terrorist illegals before something major happens. But let's not forget that 9/11 only required slightly over a dozen people and we know there are 10s of 1000s of terrorist illegals currently in our country. YIKES.

Those who watch Steve Bannon's War Room know that behind the scenes for the past 2 years, Trump supporters have been vetting people for the 4,000 positions that have to be filled in a new administration. They have them ready and have war-gamed all the ways the RINOs and Dems will try to obstruct the appointments and are prepared.

Last time only about 800 of Trump's nominations were confirmed during his 4 years. Deputies, Assistant Deputies, and thousands of other jobs requiring Senate approval that operate the agencies went unfilled so Obama's people could continue to run the shadow government.

"Ask yourself: what is my task and what is my purpose? If that answer is 'To save my country' THIS COUNTRY WILL BE SAVED.

I really like that idea.

Here's another one. Every morning the stock market futures are published to show how the day may go for the stock market. Starting with Trump, when the futures markets are published, they should also publish a list of every insider stock transaction Congress is buying at the present time. Everyday. A full list with the name of the Congress member who made the insider purchase and how much they bought.

The bullshit factor of the left's (and RINO's) ceaseless moaning and whining is best captured with the Eric Trump Tweet at the top of the article. There is no argument that can be formulated against any of Trump's cabinet picks that comes close to being as ludicrous as Biden's. And, where were these little bitty leftists when that happened over and over?

Crickets.

Dan Bongino (who I believe should lead the Secret Service) said throughout Trump's campaign that elections are about "Sound bytes and snapshots" because they have immediate and lasting impact that doesn't fade. I will humbly extend Bongino's logic from the campaign to the establishment of the new administration. We need endless tweets like Eric Trump's to denigrate the Washington DC of the past. We need memes . . . . . more memes. More snapshots and sound bytes exposing the lunatic left as they crafted it.

Sarcasm is the highest form of intelligence, Sir.

Elon and Vivek are dead serious about the formation of DOGE, the Department of Government Efficiency (darn, I love a good inside joke). How serious? Take the time to read this article: https://open.substack.com/pub/boriquagato/p/dear-washington-dc?r=17kxd0&utm_medium=ios. Their X account has already posted for these people to apply for a position. If this is true, and I don’t doubt that it is, we are going to witness the greatest take down of a bureaucracy ever seen.

Expand full comment

They have no authority to do anything but advise. They may well reveal the depth of waste and redundancy in the bureaucracies, but Trump will have to wage a political war with both parties in Congress, the agencies he hopes to streamline, the courts, the MSM, and about half the voters—who already detest him. It will make the last four years seem like a trip to Disneyland.

Remember, we have both Houses. The biggest hurdle will be a major portion of the GOP. How many of them have you heard express true anticipation for cutting spending?

But they will expose the problems just like exposing fake news and censorship. If the job was easy, it would have already been done. Don't underestimate the Trumpster and his team. They've been aware of the issues for a long time.

Expand full comment

Yes, the exposure alone is going to be very powerful. And, it isn't just a "nice thing" to cut government waste and excess, we actually are under pressure that if we don't, we face economic collapse. Elon and Vivek need to help Americans realize what is coming if we DON'T get our financial house in order.

We have been facing the threat of Venezuelan-level economic collapse, starvation, and so on. Venezuela was the richest country in South America, but it took only 5 years under a Marxist government to destroy it. Under Biden, we have been 3-1/2+ years into a Marxist government, with time running out.

We have been heading into a brick wall, with growing inflation and the potentially catastrophic devaluing of the dollar; AND the crushing burden of $36 trillion in debt--bills we've already failed to pay and issued IOU's on (i.e., debt). PLUS, the REAL, ADDITIONAL debt number of $220 trillion more-- of bills we've already COMMITTED to pay in the future but have no money set aside for-- our current "unfunded liabilities". See the figures on the bottom line of the US Debt Clock chart, in the lower right-hand corner. https://www.usdebtclock.org/. Total current AND unfunded debt is $256 trillion.

We need to take the chain saw to government spending, and FAST.

Expand full comment

yet Biden seems to have a bottomless pot of gold to commit billions more to the losing war in Ukraine - he's such a generous old creep!

Expand full comment

True, Trump must make the ultimate decisions. I doubt he will buck much of what they suggest. His authority is pretty broad. He can get rid of all the leadership because they are all appointed. If he eliminates certain functions of a department they become eligible for whatever processes exist in jettisoning surplus employees. If there is no work, you don't need people. I believe 7 of the 10 richest counties in the USA surround DC. We need to move that to zero. Some departments may require congressional action, but it doesn't need he has to staff them with too many people.

Trump knows the score this time around. The first time he got rolled by DC insiders who wanted to preserve the status quo. Also the country has had enough of an 8 year long Democrat temper tantrum. Even some Democrats are sick of it. I read an article yesterday that said the reason a lot of the youngest voters supported Trump is because they want a return to normalcy. The Democrat indoctrination putsch seems not to be working on everybody in school. Some kids are sensible enough to recognize crazy when they see it. This gives me hope.

Some in the Senate may try and stymie Trump, but they have nowhere to run. If they make life difficult, then we’ll send them home in two years. The RINOs are now outnumbered and out gunned financially. As long as Trump and Musk see eye to eye it’s going to be hard for the old guard GOP to financially strangle individual representatives who are MAGA. Musk has seen the damage that Commies have wrought in his native South Africa. He doesn’t want a replay here.

I hope Trump appoints Howard Lutnik to Treasury. He’s a super sharp guy, and a mensch. The money, people. We need to fix the money. That’s what will give our movement long legs. All this stuff needs to happen quickly, so the Deep State can’t slow walk it. When American don’t feel broke, and the garbage dump called Washington,DC has been reclaimed and planted with the flowers of MAGA, this country will return to being amazing. 🇺🇸✌🏻

Expand full comment

I suspect that the RINOs + Dhimmis = a majority. As they are all primarily about self preservation, our leaders must “keep up the scare.” Keep the shock and awe pouring down on them. Don’t give them time to take a breath or organize a thought. It appears that is Trump Team’s strategy.

The Sec'y of Treasury appt will hopefully come soon. Scott Bessent is another good choice for that role.
