I was in a very dark place; then I found Don’s Substack. He was the second coming of El Rushbo, and he probably saved my life. He gave me a blog and a reason for living. I became a Founding Member, and that's why I go on a rant about not seeing more blue buttons in the comments. IIRC: you have to be a member to comment-then you’re only a few Bidenbucks from showing how much you appreciate the opportunity to comment on his newsletters. Please read this and then become a Founding Member. A sea of blue in the comments will help him convince Lou Ann to allow him to buy the Bentley. He is doing the Lord’s work! https://donsurber.substack.com/p/for-founding-members-only

10/05/24: Well said. And his sense of humor is right up there with the legendary Alan Coren and our contemporary, Craig Ferguson!

1) "Biden Totally Wants [K.H.] to Lose" - PJ Media Matt Margolis 10/04/24 ... "... Biden is still bitter about the party pushing him out... rumors [are] that Kamala was supportive of a plan to invoke the 25th Amendment..."

2) Don Surber (10-05-24): Collin Rugg reported, 'Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff accused of physically assaulting his ex-girlfriend...'

“ 'According to the Daily Mail, Emhoff hit a woman so hard that she physically spun around.'

"Thank goodness, Kamala has Secret Service protection."

Yes. Against Joe.

Every week, we have another example of how the federal government is too big, too incompetent and too corrupt! How much money have we “given” foreign nations and illegal immigrants, but now we don’t have enough for our own people?

Americans are the heirs of the American Experiment. But, if we don’t make some serious changes soon, we will have no inheritance left.

Had we followed Jefferson’s advice, “My general plan would be to make the states one as to every thing connected with foreign nations, and several as to every thing purely domestic” we would not be in the mess we are in now, would not have had never ending wars or have the corrupt ABC agencies that we pay to censor us! But what if we amend the Constitution to mirror the intent of the Articles of the Confederation? We’re Americans – We the People overthrew tyranny once; we can do it again – if we unite for the common cause of freedom.

An article on CFP says that illegals in Maine are getting luxury furnished apartments with TWO years of rent fully paid and no utilities. I think this is FEMA money so it isn't surprising their budget is busted for Americans' needs:

And to add to that, the first thing I see this morning on CFP is that the generous Blinken has announced $157 MILLION for Lebanon while our own AMERICAN CITIZENS can't get medicines and fresh water post Helene and FEMA is blocking Elon's ability to launch Starlink so the people who have been so impacted by this terrible event can begin to communicate with the outside world. It's true, those people in charge hate us, they give us more proof daily

Robert Yates predicted the division in Brutus 1 that I quoted here: https://lizlasorte.substack.com/p/a-modest-proposal-part-iv-amending?r=76q58

According to John Adams’s writings, about 1/3 of Americans were patriots for the Cause, about 1/3 Americans were fence sitters and the 1/3 were loyalists to King George. That matches up to Solomon Asch’s Conformity Experiment where over 60% are afraid to buck the system and 10-30% are courageous and unafraid to speak up. So, if even half of the fence sitters can gather the courage to speak up and educate the next generation, we might have a chance to Survive.

ITEM 21: The Daily Caller reported, “The Maryland Department of State Police has committed to shell out more than $2 million in back pay to black and female applicants who could not pass state trooper tests as part of a settlement agreement with the U.S. Department of Justice.”

“ITEM 1: Hurricane Helene ravaged western North Carolina”

I believe this is THE TEST of this country and it’s people, even over and above the election.

If we mean what we say we want for this country, then here is where we prove it.

I believe it is a Call to Arms, not literal arms, but human arms, hands, feet, and/or whatever you can muster.

The devastation and horror happening on the ground there is of epic proportions, and it is where we are called to put our money and our brains and our bodies, and our most fervent prayers, if we are who we say we are, and truly want to save, rescue, rebuild and restore this country. Let it begin in North Carolina and all the places ravaged by Helene.

Make North Carolina Great Again - now.

We need some links where to turn to help.

If you want to send money, people on the ground are recommending Samaritans Pirse, who are doing yeoman’s work there. Or to local churches. But, beware of some orgs or random people you’re not familiar with, as they come out of the woodwork during times like this.

If you go on X (Twitter) and search under Hurricane Helene Relief Effort you will find many orgs. and people and companies.

Just don’t send money to FEMA - it won’t get used where it’s needed most.

ITEM 1: Hurricane Helene ravaged western North Carolina in an unusual Appalachian run for a tropical storm.

The Feds are slow walking relief because the damage areas are solid red Trump supporters. Roads are blocked, polls wiped out, total destruction of hundreds of thousands of Trump supporters. Rahm Emanuel said, "Never let a crisis go to waste".

And what are the Feds doing by confiscating personal property in Chimney Rock? Is this another forcing citizens from their land as happened in LaHaina, Hawaii?

Expand full comment

The failure for Katrina was primarily the result of previously existing incompetence locally by democrat governance. And commonplace local petty grievances that left poor infrastructure management. (Each parish managed its own part of the necessary levy system and bickered over who got the most from Corps of Engineers $. Each staffed separately……. Management sent people home rather than managing the pumps…… Nagin refusing to evacuate using existing transport… Blanco dithering and refusing Bush’s help. The list is long.)
