Wishful Drinking.

Bill Barr. The first man ever designated by biologists as a "mushroom."

I disagree. As a zoologist, this thing (Barr) is an elephant.

If we could have only house-trained him.

I was Cruz in 16 Primary, convinced that Trump would be Bush III. His ability to dispense with decade old swamp paradigms and act decisively won me over. His sincere push to decouple our economy from the CCP and pass lasting peace deals in Middle East won me over. Even when I was not a fan, I had always admired his bluntness and bluster, I just didn’t trust he had abandoned his friends’ politics in the Manhattan cocktail circuit. He proved me wrong,

He also changed millions of peoples’ worldviews and exposed the corruption rampant in the halls of power of so many institutions: federal law enforcement, federal courts, intelligence, diplomatic corps. defense, education, technology, and the corporate boardrooms. Multigenerational warfare against American ideals had been waged at the halls of power and Trump’s leadership exposed it all to everyone

Your post describes my experience in 2016 perfectly. Trump hung out with too many NY Democrats and I didn’t trust him. Ted Cruz was my choice for his commitment to the Constitution and ability to convey those principles.

Once in office, I changed my mind on Trump as many others did too. If Trump is taken out by this corrupt administration for 2024, I will beg Ted Cruz to run again. Recall, he had more support running against Trump than DeSantis does today.

We were a Rubio family. Believed in those early primary days that Trump was a really a democrat who was running in the GOP primary only to blow up the Republican Party.

We really saw him as an existential threat.......until he was the last man standing. Miraculous! And then President. Wow! What a super four years we had.

Well, Trump did blow up the GOP, but he rejuvenated the best parts that needed to be fixed. And Trump made the Marxist Dems absolutely lose their collective hive minds so much so that their crazy is apparent to everyone with eyes to see.

God has this election in control. We must do the work but trust Him for the outcome.

We all learned a lesson. You were justified in your early skepticism. Many were with you if they will admit the truth.

Thank you. We all learned so much more than we ever conceived we could know—and then some more. And honestly still is the best policy!

Trump fail in his efforts to fix the GOP, or more correctly, we failed him by not sending the rinos out to pasture

I am with you and feel Cruz is more important as a SCOTUS candidate at this time or better yet AG.

Expand full comment

I still prefer to see Cruz in a lifetime SCOTUS appointment. Someone must be “on-deck,” as it were, on that horrible, heart-wrenching day when God calls Clarence Thomas or Sam Alito home. (Long life and good health I pray for these men.)

I pray for a Republican President at that time. You know the entire Senate will vote Cruz out of the Senate.....er.....vote to confirm him as a Justice. lol

I am reminded of the Roman Republic. Fearing that Caesar would name himself a king and disrupt their constitutional order the Senate conspired and murdered him. This absolutely shredded what was left of their constitutional order and set in motion the elevation of Augustus as Emperor.

The Dems would heed this history if they could think more than one corrupt move ahead.

Now, see if the Donald can restrain himself from childishly attacking any politician who fails to be sufficiently worshipful. It really is unattractive and will cost votes that might otherwise be his.

Expand full comment

I upvoted you for the "...could think more than one corrupt move ahead... ." That kind of talk puts those Democrat Communist louts in the correct little box where they belong.

RE: "Trump restraining himself..." I do not imagine Trump made a billion in Manhattan real estate by being out of control, unpredictable and over the top. The volatile political persona DJT has developed keeps his opposition off-balance. Trump respects most people but has little or no respect for professional politicians. He's bought enough of'em to know: they are a craven, simple-minded lot of rotters. Trump is playing the hardest of hardball. Everything is on the table. If you really believe Trump craves "worship" you might consider this: the man OWNS the best golf course in Scotland. Trump don't strike me as any kind of man who craves obeisance.

I think you read DJT perfectly.

Lies...Lies...and Damned Lies....We now have the most dishonest and corrupt presidency hellbent on destroying the American way of life. It's as if NO ONE wants to hear the truth because it would be an admission of fault. Compare our situation now to the Eastern Front in WWII. The German and Russian people kept hearing how Stalingrad was "In German Hands from October 1, 1942 on." So what did Stalin do? He finally brought all his field commanders in and said "I need to hear the truth. Has Stalingrad fallen?" Even Stalin didn't know. When he was told the truth that Stalingrad was still (Barely) in Russian hands. one of the greatest military plans in history was formed and the once powerful German 6th army was destroyed and the German troops massacred.

As bad as things look now, in November 1942, the Russian front, things looked a lot worse and then the impossible happened.

Stalin wasn't known to be a religious man, but a lot of his countrymen were. I know it seems as if we are surrounded by these Godless whores, but there is a light, a small one right now, but it is getting brighter.

Tony, thank you for the history lesson. However, unlike the 42 Soviets whom were mainly Eastern Orthodox, most of our fellow Americans are uneducated ( college grads) areligious narcissistic hedonists. The take over by the marxists/Obamaist brown shirts has been well organized since the 1950s. While we have had terrible Presidents before (W Wilson) and scary times before (1860-65, 1940-43), these times are different. We are a broken people without common goals and mutual respect for our neighbors. We have been Balkanized. At some point we will either break up as a country or start shoot each other. Do not assume the right has all the arms.

Remember your purchasing power in Feb 2020, the highest of your life. This was due to Trump unleashing cheap, American fossil fuel energy - the absolute basis of our economy; Biden reversed this on his day one leading to your current predicaments. This is undeniable, wonderful people.

And then he 'fought wars' by using said economic power to quell anything Russian, Iranian, or North Korean. Oh, and he sent one of your beautiful cruise missiles to KILL the worlds leading terrorist who was coddled by European 'elites' for years(Qassem Soleimani) rather than sending your men downrange for 20 years. Oh, and he lowered your corporate tax rate from the highest in the world(39% to 21%) which is prolly the sole reason we are not in a depression as we are bringing work back. Oh, he deregulated you by the tens-of-thousands.

There is no other choice, wonderful People. Turn off the boob tube and work to clean your voter rolls like DeSantis and Reynolds have done = full red states which means Normal, anti-racist life again.

Trump is the so obvious choice. At this point there are no fence sitters or undecideds, and in a real one person, one vote, inked finger election we all know who’d win.

But it isn’t and not only we know it but so does T. He can’t be making all this noise, having these blow out gatherings and parties for nothing. He must have an alternative plan beyond ‘Vote Harvesting’.

Let’s pray he does or the Country, the Constitution and all of us and our children are lost!

Don, you nailed it. I hope Kane puts this on CFP. These are very scary times.

I have really tried to understand the failed support for Trump by the GOP. It is blatantly obvious the government is corrupt and they are part of it. My only conclusion is they know how deeply rooted the corruption is and do not believe they can change it. They have given up. I hate to say it but if Trump beats all the fake charges against him to become the nominee, they (the idiots) won’t let him live to see his inauguration. They will do whatever it takes. The FBI/CIA will make it look like Iran did it.
