A year ago, Matt K. Lewis, a Senior Columnist at the Daily Beast, did a column of concern trolling called, “‘Anybody but Trump’ Is the Only Way Forward for the GOP.”
Lewis wrote, “The GOP’s never been closer to moving on from Donald Trump.
“The Jan 6. Committee hearings, coupled with Trump’s mixed record of midterm primary endorsements, have left the 45th president bloodied and bruised even in the eyes of loyal Republican voters. And that’s generating speculation that Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis may eventually supplant Trump as the party’s standard bearer.”
The argument by Lewis made me chuckle: “DeSantis may be the only person standing between us and Donald Trump in 2024. And this matters because — as we have seen — once you are the nominee of a major party, you have a decent chance of becoming president (especially if Joe Biden or Kamala Harris are the other alternatives). The second question is this: Is Donald Trump a uniquely dangerous person?
“This question is not as simple to answer as it seems. It’s possible that Trump was uniquely dangerous, but that his presidency also exposed weaknesses in the American system that could be exploited by some future authoritarian with a less-chaotic nature.”
Somehow the problem will magically go away if we do not re-elect the man who exposed “the American system that could be exploited by some future authoritarian with a less-chaotic nature.”
In the little world of Lewis, the victim of this corrupt and authoritarian regime is the threat, not Obama who used the FBI to spy on Donald Trump and not Biden who dragged in a hack prosecutor who broke all the rules to ruin a Republican governor of New Jersey Virginia in a prosecution that was so evil that the Supreme Court voted unanimously to overturn the conviction. That you cannot prosecute such a heinous prosecutor is a flaw in the system exploited by the two wicked authoritarian presidents we have had.
Trump exposed the corruption in a government that is by, of and for the deep state. After eight years of the deep state attacking him, anyone who does not support him now is an accomplice because abandoning him means approval of the corruption of the judicial system. As the left says, silence is complicity.
Topping my list of accomplices after the fact is Scott Adams who said the other day in a tweet that Trump fluffs Putin. How reminiscent of Stephen Colbert calling President Trump a cock holster for Putin. I wonder how much the Biden administration paid Adams to sell Trump out.
Oh yes, the deep state pays media people off, which explains Matt Drudge’s sudden turn against Trump in March 2017.
Not the Bee reported, “Report: The U.S. government paid Twitter millions of dollars so it could censor information. For real.”
The government paid Twitter, Facebook and who knows else to discredit the Hunter Biden laptop expose. His father would have lost in a landslide if that story came out. Bill Barr — then the attorney general — refused to investigate the laptop because the fix was in.
Which means if you vote for anyone other than Donald Trump, you approve of the deep state stripping voters of their right to know. All these self-described journalists who endlessly natter about holding the powerful accountable are frauds for ignoring this evil. They cowered to the powerful when they should have cried foul.
They already showed their true colors by not protesting Obama’s use of the FBI to spy on a political opponent. Indeed, the same people who rag about Watergate ignored an actual political spying not by campaign workers but by federal agents. Carl Bernstein promoted the Russiagate cover story that Democrats created to rationalize this hideous and unAmerican abuse of power.
But go ahead and bail on Trump like Kurt Schlichter and other phonies have. They are minor league Jonah Goldbergs and George Wills who scramble for attention. They believe in Trump fatigue. They misread the room because indictments over pieces of paper he had at Mar-a-Lago are unfounded. The Presidential Records Act allows him to keep those records.
That indictment sent the message that it is either us or them. We cannot cut bait on President Trump without cutting our own throats. The people who leave are fools who believe somehow they will be spared the whip. The Uyghurs believed the same thing when they helped the Communist Party take over China. Now a million of them are slaves.
The pending indictment for daring to hold a rally on the National Mall — a rally upended by the deep state luring a few of the 200,000 attendees into the Capitol — has actually elicited some RINO support for President Trump.
House Speaker Kevin McCarthy said, “Recently President Trump went up in the polls and was actually surpassing President Biden for re-election. So what do they do now? Weaponize government to go after their No. 1 opponent.”
McCarthy also said, “This is not equal justice. They treat people differently and they go after their adversaries.”
Non-RINOs are speaking out.
Marjorie Taylor Greene tweeted, “Jack Smith is a lousy attorney. His career is filled with mistrials, overturned cases, and judicial rebukes. He only targets Republicans because he’s a weak little bitch for the Democrats.”
The Republican who stands the most to gain by Trump’s demise — Ron DeSantis — gave an excellent and supportive extemporaneous response on Tuesday to a reporter who asked, “Do you believe that Trump bears any responsibility for what happened on Jan. 6?”
DeSantis said, “I have not seen that [indictment]. Someone had told me something coming in. And, look, here's the thing. Criminal charges — it’s not just because you may have done something wrong, it’s did you behave criminally? And I think what we've seen in this country is an attempt to criminalize politics and to try to criminalize differences.
“So, I don't know what was all about that. But I do know that we look at institutions, unfortunately, like our own FBI and Department of Justice, and we’ve seen the politicization of those institutions. We’ve seen them be weaponized against Americans.
“Pro-life activists can have that SWAT team come. Meanwhile, Hunter Biden, he would have been in jail if he were a Republican, and we all know that. So that’s, I think, a bit of frustration to see how that is wielded."
More Republicans must speak out. As Benjamin Franklin scolded the colonists, “We must all hang together, or most assuredly we shall all hang separately.”
All this talk about an insurrection is hooey. Jefferson Davis was never tried for insurrection or treason or any crime. If the president of the Confederacy never faced a criminal trial, why did a man who wore a bison hat at the Capitol? (He looked like Fred Flintstone heading for the Water Buffalo Lodge.)
The Civil War was not a insurrection but January 6 was? Well, Jefferson Davis and the rest were all Democrats. That party sticks together no matter what.
Trump’s indictments drew an eerie silence from most Republicans in DC that is disturbing because it shows not only that so many of them are happy to strip Donald Trump and his supporters of their civil liberty and God-given rights, but also those who are alarmed fear the deep state’s wrath if they speak out.
We do not have a two-tiered criminal justice system because we have no justice. We have a bastardized system in which the evil elitists are protected while the rest of us are exposed to capricious prosecution. Antifa and black supremacists burned city blocks down in 2020 with little consequence. Hundreds of people who protested inside the Capitol were and still are maliciously prosecuted.
All this is prelude to Biden having Trump imprisoned. This illegitimate prosecution comes four years after Congress impeached Trump for asking — just asking — Zelensky to investigate the bribes Biden pocketed through his son.
If your vision of America is a police state where children are taken from their parents for sexual mutilation, go ahead and vote ABT — Anyone But Trump.
But when you do, stop calling yourself an American because you oppose everything this nation stands for. I wish you would move to where you belong.
Next year, Real Americans have but one choice: Donald John Trump.
These blasphemous indictments are why.
Excellent post. Easy poll. Fuck Joe Biden.
