David French is a Harvard Law grad who plays a cartoon conservative in minstrel shows before liberal audiences. His column on indicting Trump — “The Rule of Law Now Depends on Republicans” — in the New York Times was worthy of Al Jolson in blackface or RuPaul in drag as French hectored Republicans to go gently into that good night as the courts, the last refuge in America, prepare to shut the door and lock us all out.
He wrote, “A nation truly governed by the rule of law isn’t going to have a perfect legal system — no human system can be perfect — but it will have a double check against injustice. The rule of law depends on both substance and process, just laws and just processes, and respect for the rule of law depends on peacefully complying with the legal process even when you’re utterly convinced the underlying legal charge is wrong.
“Indeed, in the absence of that understanding, social peace is impossible. We simply cannot and do not delegate to defendants and their supporters the decision as to whether to comply with legal processes. AR-15s are not a component of American jurisprudence.”
George Washington might disagree with French but technically all the general had were muskets, long rifles and cannons because AR-15s were 180 years away from him.
Aaron Renn gave the best definition I could find of French’s lot in life.
Renn wrote, “There’s a common New Right belief that movement conservatism is ‘controlled opposition’ that exists primarily to gatekeep and police the right bounds of acceptable political beliefs in America. That is, conservatives are allowed to exist because they purge people that the left really disapproves of.”
Find me a better explanation and I may share it, too, someday.
His column was “David French's Cancel Culture” and it included this tidbit, “I’ll give you a heuristic for understanding how conservatives tend to operate here. They almost invariably support cancellation only for things that the left has already put out of bounds. They might push back against some of the things that the left says are unacceptable, but if they support cancelling someone, you can be pretty sure it’s over something the left would also want to cancel him over.”
French is correct on the Rule of Law, which holds that no one is above the law.
But the reality is Democrats are above the law — and RINOs too.
Hillary as secretary of State shared classified material through emails with donors to her fake charity. Many donors were foreigners. The bathroom server is an alibi. James Comey himself said she burned through servers — private and official alike.
He told the world on July 5, 2016, “From the group of 30,000 e-mails returned to the State Department, 110 e-mails in 52 e-mail chains have been determined by the owning agency to contain classified information at the time they were sent or received.
“Eight of those chains contained information that was Top Secret at the time they were sent; 36 chains contained Secret information at the time; and eight contained Confidential information, which is the lowest level of classification. Separate from those, about 2,000 additional e-mails were up-classified to make them Confidential; the information in those had not been classified at the time the e-mails were sent.”
That was classified material actually sent to many people. Contrast and compare to the apparent allegations that President Trump brought some classified material home with him when he returned to Mar-a-Lago after his four-year stint ended as commander-in-chief.
But Comey the phony said, “Although there is evidence of potential violations of the statutes regarding the handling of classified information, our judgment is that no reasonable prosecutor would bring such a case. Prosecutors necessarily weigh a number of factors before bringing charges. There are obvious considerations, like the strength of the evidence, especially regarding intent. Responsible decisions also consider the context of a person’s actions, and how similar situations have been handled in the past.”
Comey’s rule of law is those who enforce the law rule.
He said, “To be clear, this is not to suggest that in similar circumstances, a person who engaged in this activity would face no consequences. To the contrary, those individuals are often subject to security or administrative sanctions. But that is not what we are deciding now.”
Oh that was crystal clear. There was one set of rules for the Obama administration and a second rulebook for the rest of us.
Obama used the FBI to spy on Donald Trump. This really was Watergate on steroids. The national press defended the spying and awarded Pulitzers to the bums who carried the most water for the disgraceful Barack Hussein Obama. (For 15 years, I have cowardly ignored his middle name. Screw propriety.)
And when it comes to classified material, no one has abused his access to it better than Biden. He not only took home boxes of it each weekend to his mansion in Delaware, but he “unmasked” people the FBI spied on and read transcripts of what the people said when spied upon.
Bill Barr opened his big fat yap and said the case against Trump is weak but it will hurt Republican chances in 2024.
What does fatso care? His FBI sat on the Hunter Biden laptop and paid social media outlets to censor references to it. His in-kind contribution to the Biden campaign was duly noted by the new regime. He is safe — for now.
David French is right. It is up to the Rule of Law now definitely depends on Republicans. They need to use election laws to work over Democrats. They need to prosecute the sedition, bribery and perjury that runs rampant in our nation’s capital. I will have more on that tomorrow.
But a good beginning would be the indictment of the Biden Crime Family. No one is above the law, not Hunter, not Hallie, not James, not Ashley, not Dr. Jill, and especially not Joe.
When they indict one of ours, indict 7 of theirs.
I don't mean to be bleak, but nobody is going to do anything because they are either all in on it or under the thumb of the deep state. Clown world is collapsing and apart from preparing yourselves there is not much anyone can do about it. The end of the dollar as the reserve currency is the end of the west as we've known it.
David French is a RINO of the highest order. Trannies are threatening people for living while conservative. Like the legislator in Wyoming who coflates Tranny rights with Women's rights and says: "kill them all." Posts an Antifa poster with the tweet. Of a gunslinger tranny granny . We are heading for a fight, no we're in one now. God help us.
