11/21/24: Same here, Jake. The potential for things going screwy is just too damned obvious. This is a wariness that long preceded DJT; I think I got the hang of it in 1975 when I had to report to five-seven different departments at Fort Polk LA to simply replace a pair of defective combat boots. The last stop featured an ebullient Lt. Col. who yelled, "This is why we aren't getting the volunteer soldiers we need!" and swiftly signed the voucher for the new boots. Boy, do I wish today that I could send him a thank you note...

Exhibit one for caution--Gaetz is out as AG. We better get an equally tough--rock solid--replacement.

Good on Gaetz for withdrawing rather than providing a distraction. Hopefully our great dealmaker DJT has extracted some HUGE concessions in return.

I toyed with the idea that this was planned all along --- nominate someone who would piss them off, with Gaetz in on the secret. Then use the leverage of offering to w/draw Gaetz's name in order to obtain support for other nominations/proposals/deals. But why have Gaetz resign? No matter. Now. Make him the Florida senator and we're squared away. Then Gaetz can piss off the Senate RINO-Nances to his heart's content ("Why, HELLO, Lindsay!") while Jolly Old Fetterman does the same to his brainless fellow Democrat senators.

Same here! And now, for comic relief, for those of us whose tense muscles (mental and physical) have been unwinding slowly since the 5th of November):

Headline: "This Is What a Losing Campaign Looks Like. How does Donald Trump’s running mate have so much time on his hands?" The Atlantic David Frum (09/18/24).

"LOSING CAMPAIGN"!!! This cannot be stated too many times; it became obvious around 2015 and NOTHING has changed: "The losers are calling the winners 'losers.' "

Imagine the landslide if the MSM, academia, the DOJ, the IC, 95% of the federal work force, RINO's, big tech, the WEF and the Swamp were not against him? Trump would have put Reagan's landslide to shame.

I think that Trump has entered the realm of the supernatural. Nothing done to him succeeds. Lawfare, attempted assassination, the entire MSM narrative…nothing worked. If you are a believer in The Fourth Turning, then Trump is the Gray Champion that will lead the country through the current Crisis cycle. May he be successful in his quest.

Expand full comment

Not taking a solitary accomplishment away from DJT but I think part of the explanation is due to the fact that enough of America finally realized how utterly broken and corrupt their country's government had gotten and they finally got off their collective butts and voted to change it. All they needed was a guy with the guts …..and a big “S” on his chest to lead them.

Expand full comment

Trump's success is due to his resonance with the people, not the other way around and he knows this. In that, Trump was accurate when he said that, "They're not after me; they're after you. I'm only in the way." It's the same as with Rush Limbaugh's success. Although he was accused by his leftist enemies of "leading" his listeners, he knew and often said that he was successful because he said publicly and cogently what his supporters thought and felt.

Read an interesting post yesterday noting that “when banks train their employees to recognize a counterfeit bill, they don’t train them on every possible way counterfeit currency might look and feel. They teach you to be so familiar with the real thing that when you pick up a counterfeit bill, you’ll immediately recognize the difference.”

It’s the resonance of truth. People seeking the truth recognize it when they hear and see it.

There are millions of Americans who sensed things were way off, and recognized the truth Trump was speaking.

Many on the Left, especially those in positions of power, however, love their darkness more than the light, and therefore the truth is unrecognizable to them.

They’ve had the power for, at the very least, the last 10 years, but can only be weeded out and thoroughly eliminated from their perches only by the fear of God, through Justice and Judgment, and that goes for many of our Senators and Congressmen.

It’s the only way to assure our ability to restore and renew this country.

While I have only contempt for Obama, it is looking more and more to me like the Clinton cabal was more responsible for the creation and weaponization of the so-called deep state resistance than the racist Obama regime. Obama was just a racist who thought changing the world came thru attacking ones skin color, just the opposite of the desegregation and civil rights movements he used as cover. He was the appointed con artist that never deserved his accolades. The Clintons are deep state masters who spawned an entire government takeover who used this country’s government to advance their neocon views. Yes, the XX version of the Clinton couple is a neocon and has no problem sending someone elses kid to die for their failed beliefs. She and her followers have no sense of humanity, only power.

Already started. Look at what the US Military is doing around the world and you can see what is happening. I hate Putin but when we broke our promise to not add any countries to NATO that were close to Russian borders we gave him little choice. His reaction was no different than would be ours if the situation was reversed. When the Biden puppet turned low se Ukraine to fire missles into the heart of Russia with our hands on assistance, he took the first shot at a direct confrontation. Just wait for his payback. I have to disagree. By its very nature, NATO is a defensive organization, not an offensive one, and Putin knew it. His squealing about it was just for show, because he had no better argument to justify his aggressions. And he himself grabbed all the war material he could from other countries.

And if by "payback" you mean nukes, which he has threatened to launch about a dozen times: assuming they even work, that would be the end of his godforsaken country.
