Hunter is on trial because none of these particular charges can be connected to The Big Guy. But his tax issues in California certainly can.

If Hunter is acquitted, look for Trump’s poll numbers to jump again and for more donations to pour in. The latest amount I’ve seen, a week after the verdict, was $400 million. Americans know a scam when they see one.

Adorable Deplorable's avatar

The smartest guy FJB knows will be found guilty of... something. To further prove the DOJ's favorite overused phrase these days "no one is above the law" mantra. That btw, no one believes. Hunter will probably be sentenced to 60 days in an ankle bracelet to his favorite whore house of choice.

Forbes's avatar

Guilty of incorrectly filling out a federal form...

Shrugged's avatar

Yes, all good points and very likely. My question is about the next phase of what you describe.

I still believe this deep state will stop Trump by all means necessary. So, what happens when these tens of millions of loyal Trump supporters who have developed a deeply held grudge against the government corruption wake up one day and Trump is gone (ie taken out) making the Biden corruption moot?

That will be a make-or-break moment for America.

CC's avatar

Read the article in Politico about Joe Biden intricate web of business associates. What comes to mind is ‘Mafia don’ in the way that he supposedly blocks off and isolates interactions with certain people. This crook needs to be booted from office.

Jeremy R's avatar

Booted from the planet.

You don't believe that President Trump knows the score?

You don't believe that President Trump does NOT have a deadman's switch?

You don't believe him when he said: "We caught them all."???

Shrugged's avatar

In general, no, I don't.

I believe Trump knows his risks but as for a deadman switch, until he makes a tangible reference to it I have nothing to believe or not believe about it. It is a theory.

Trump is going against the people who took out JFK and had most of America believing the Warren Commission Report for decades; the people who got over 75% of Americans to take an experimental shot with nothing supporting its safety or effectiveness; the people who now have capability beyond our dreams to do anything they want. Does this group care whether Trump supporters think they are corrupt?

A "notebook" isn't going to keep this force from stopping Trump anymore than this DOJ is going to stop the in-your-face injustice or arrest Joe Biden. They don't care.

By any means necessary is just that - unstoppable.

Suzie's avatar

And Congress, to this day 50 years after the fact, is STILL not able to see the classified version of the Church Committee for 1976, when they investigated the Intel Agencies who’d turning their activities inward on American citizens!!!

Shrugged's avatar

Yes. The deep state does what they want with impunity while the world governments naively think they are actually running things. The only thing more powerful than the deep state is prayer.

MT's avatar

In my research of Donald Trump, he does not give hints to anyone when he is strategizing.

I always go back to Wilbur Ross and his famous quote:

"Underestimate Donald John Trump at your own peril."

Shrugged's avatar

I agree with your words, but only if they let him live.

Dead men aren't very good at doing anything.

They took out JFK, RFK, Martin Luther King, and more than a dozen threats to the Clintons with Arkancide.

Do you think Trump is untouchable?

And, taking him out would also trigger the next best thing they want - a MAGA civil war.

Two birds with one stone.

MT's avatar

No human is untouchable.

I believe this movement is greater than one man; Trump is our chosen weapon.

Anyone paying attention to the elections over the weekend in France, Germany and other countries?

Nationalists are winning.

Who is "They"?

Trump the Deal-Maker is known Worldwide.

Nationalists are winning worldwide.

The last time that happened was just before He won in 2016.

There are no coincidences.

Playswithneedles's avatar

If Trump is taken out it will be the first shot fired in Civil War 2.0.

Shrugged's avatar

Likely, to some degree anyway. It is exactly what they want Trump supporters to do and would be a mistake. It would be the perfect setup to show the world we are insurrectionists and domestic terrorists.

All I can do is pray that Trump gets a miracle because he needs one to get to the Whitehouse.

Greg Martin's avatar

History doesn’t repeat itself but it rhymes. Civil War ends, Lincoln is assassinated. Trump ( God forbid) is assassinated, Civil War ll begins.

Hard to say. It depends on who the backup is for both Biden and Trump as there are no clear seconds for either.

Some of those millions being donated to Trump's campaign are also "votes" against all the RINOS who have made lots of whiny noises (mostly on X/Twitter and Fox), but done absolutely nothing of substance to defeat the Democrat criminals they're in bed with.

We're disgusted with the whole lot of them, and I hope Trump can expose and deeply embarrass all of them as well.

You know, I would dearly love to be optimistic about..., well, about pretty much anything these days, but I just can't seem to do it. So the "right wingers" (or as I like to call them, "normal people") are rousing themselves in Europe, but they are still a minority. Trump is setting record numbers in fundraising and rally attendance, but he is not president and may never be again. Israel is defeating Hamas on the ground but is turned into a pariah state while the hamas butchers are supported by "demonstrators" (more precisely, rioters) and the so-called "international press." Realistically, the left retains control everywhere; government, media--social and mainstream--the streets and so far, not one perpetrator of violence or malfeasance in office on the left has been prosecuted. Meanwhile, go down the list of those who have been prosecuted and punished. Navarro. Bannon. Stone. Manafort. Papadopolous. Weisselburg. All the J6 demonstrators who did nothing more than walk through the Capitol. And of course, we have the Bragg, Willis, James and Smith persecutions against Trump himself. Don't forget the orchestrated sham they called the "Congressional investigation" headed up by the House democrats, complete with Hollywood special effects. And while you are at it, say a prayer for the abortion protestors--the ones who were arrested, charged with "interfering" with the abortion mill process on account of praying--and are either now or will shortly be serving out prison sentences. Or the ones who were outright assassinated by the ATF and FBI during the home invasions conducted under color of "serving arrest warrants." We traditional Americans of all stripes have been pushed, shoved, stomped and corraled into cowed compliance by the left wing usurpers of power in every area to the point that we simply have gotten used to it and accept it as normal, while every transexual, homosexual, child molester (pardon the redundancy) and surgical/chemical child mutilator gets to have a "Pride Month" during which the rest of us are compelled to bow down and worship their deviancy and degeneracy. All this while we have been browbeaten about our terrible "RACISM"

and the allegedly disadvantaged blacks and browns are awarded plum positions by virtue of "affirmative action." Oh yeah, I almost forgot that white men as a group must be specifically targeted out of the need to destroy "THE PATRIARCHY." So for these reasons, and many others which I shall leave out but which I am sure you are aware of, I just can't be optimistic. I can't help thinking that we are like the terminal patient, lying in his hospital bed, who rallies and becomes cogent and alert... just before passing away. I hope my pessimism is misplaced and that we are truly seeing some signs of the revivication of all the things we held dear so that our posterity will not have reason to hold us in contempt. May God forgive us if we fail, because our children and grandchildren will not.

There seems to be a lot of chatter now about "Trump's going to jail us! We must flee the country!" They believe that will prevent Trump from holding people accountable. Or they hope it will start a revolution from the left. Sane people (which these days is only those who believe in God) can tell the difference between a sham trial and a fair trial, whether it is a bazonkers jury, a corrupt judge/prosecutor, or fabricated evidence from the FBI. I think Trump could handle this by appointing an AG like Paxton who will go after the criminals. If Trump stays out of it, they can blame Paxton but it becomes more difficult to blame Trump.

Jeremy R's avatar

If they flee the country Iran, North Korea and Venezuela would be good choices for them to seek asylum.

Last summer, I met an FBI agent at a dinner party. I asked him if Joe Biden was corrupt and he snapped back, “100%”.

I’m surprised that the guy admitted where he works. It’s not exactly anything to brag about these days.

Only thing against Vivek was the way he made his millions. And as someone with a wife suffering with a rare form of dementia going on for over seven years now, this was kind of disappointing. But the more and more I hear him speak, I am willing to put it all aside for the good of country. Don't think there is anyone quicker on their feet than Mr. Ramaswamy. Don't know why he is not on the VP short list but would he not be the perfect compliment to Mr. Trump's awkward public speaking? Although I am also a huge fan of Dr. Carson.

Don Surber's avatar

Carson's old

Vivek has a good shot at improving his standing.

Adorable Deplorable's avatar

He is only 72... idk, either one of these guys I would love.

Cookie McCall's avatar

Every one on Trump's short list has excellent qualities IMHO

MT's avatar

Agree and President Trump, in all likelihood, has picked his VP to be in a strategic position that the evil within will never, ever know or understand.

HE will also pick the next Republican MAGA Presidential candidate for 2028 and that person MAY NOT be his VP pick for many reasons but the most formidable is "Trump being Trump"

.

trump would not want to be seen in a lesser light than his vice president.

Adorable Deplorable's avatar

Maybe. But I do think DJT does want what is best for the country. And remember, he cannot run again. What I did read somewhere -- and something that makes a lot of sense -- is DJT wants a VP that will not be campaigning for the '28 presidency from day one. And why his pick will be Dr. Ben Carson.

Gary Blackman's avatar

Dr. Carson is too relaxed. We need fire breather who frightens the DC lizards even more than Trump. Ideally, someone who also is wealthy.

Suzie's avatar

I concur. Whoever his pick is he/she’s got to be just as fierce as Trump, if not moreso, to carry the mantle in 2028. Vance comes closest out of those who’ve been mentioned, but may be too green yet.

Harriet Hagemann is ferocious and brilliant.

But I still have massive reservations about picking someone from the politically marinated realm of Congress, though they probably have the best handle on where the bodies are buried.

It’s huge make or break decision for Trump.

Let’s just hope he’s getting better advice this go ‘round than he did in 2016.

Oy ~ what a mistake the backstabbing Pence was!

Ms. Bert's avatar

Vivek. Does anyone think Trump will pick one of the MANY the media keep pushing?

Classy, like losers Bob Dole, John McCain, and Mitt Romney.

All of whom were favorites of Karl Rove.

MT's avatar

Dr. Carson is NOT a favorite of Karl Rove.

EODMom's avatar

I’d rather he pick the warrior who will actively work Trump’s agenda with him throughout the bureaucracy for 21 January. Being a lawyer in this case is a plus. Must be more aggressively articulate and willing to be sharp and critical to attackers than Carson. I think explicitly moving the agenda to 2028 is vital. The It’s Not a Lame Duck Administration message. My short list is Cotton, Rubio and Vance (no, not an attorney.) Being young, energy and healthy sends the message of We aren’t going Anywhere. And all the Dems allowed to speak in public are old.

Ms. Bert's avatar

No Senators. What have any of these guys ever managed?

Adorable Deplorable's avatar

Can't afford to loose Senate seats either...

EODMom's avatar

I understand your point but I look at the available people. Burgum has no charisma and is in bed with Bill Gates in particular on education. He’s railroaded workplace curriculum into ND and it’s a killer for actual students. I wouldn’t expect a sharp word to ever come out of his mouth. And he just seems without energy.

TeaPartyGal's avatar

I've hardly heard anything about Burgum--which alone is a red-flag that he's not been very much of an activist. And all the reasons you cite are further red-flags.

The tactics of deceit, deception and diversion are lifted right from the communist playbook. Just as in the wizard of oz when the big guy was busted, he valiantly ordered Dorothy and crew to ignore the man behind the curtain as he continued to blow smoke and pull the levers in futility.

It's all about controlling the mass of people and keeping them confused, uncertain and unsettled.

Don't 'buy' any if it.

Hunter may take one for the team, but regardless of the outcome, he will never spend one night in jail. I am guessing, however, that it will end up with a mistrial. After all, we are talking about Delaware, aka Bidenstan.

Trumps Owner's avatar

The corruption in DE is horrific. Famous for being the state a business should incorporate in, the fraud in the DE Chancery court is going to finally destroy that too.

Before the Tesla ruling, they did unbelievable things to friendly law firms in the Transperfect case. Lawfare is a real thing and will only end using our 2nd Amendment

bearridge's avatar

I think he will be found guilty (to further demonstrate the point that "no one is above the law") then comes the sentence where the fix comes to the front. Poor drug addled Hunter, even the president's son can fall of the path. Jail would be inappropriate, so probation and a comfortable drug rehab program. Later Joe can pardon him, but the judicial system would appear to be working for justice. At least the indoctrinated will buy that.

bearridge's avatar

fall "off" the path.....which seems to be Hunter forte

Lawsy0's avatar

Maybe Hunter will get the same break they gave to JFK's sister.

bearridge's avatar

We are talking show trial, and I expect a well rehearsed performance by an abject, profoundly sorry, wayward son. The prosecutors will lay it on thick and rough, causing many in the media to soil their panties.....solid proof that the Magaheads are blinded by Trump's lies and conspiracy theories. It will all look like Hunter going down. Not just guilty, but profoundly guilty and profoundly remorseful for the shame he has brought on his family. They won't spend much time, if any, on Hunter's middleman activities. They may be irrelevant to a trial over lying on an ATF form.

I can see the judge sentencing Hunter to whatever the max is for lying on the ATF form, then placing him on probation and requiring him to go to rehab at a facility of Hunter's choosing. That way before Joe rides off into the sunset, he can pardon Hunter. Not to get him out of jail, but to enable him to buy a firearm and not lie on any future form by saying "no" to have you ever been convicted of any felony.

The media can dump on Hunter if they can put down their pompoms long enough and stop their cheering for "saving our democracy" by proving that Hunter was treated no different than any other dope head who lied to buy a gun. Trump was treated just like any other scofflaw.

I have already noted who will believe that male bovine excrement. If you can rationalize Hamas as oppressed, you are beyond redemption.
