As my French Literature professor used to say, "what's the moral of this story?" The moral of the Israel-Palestinian story is that you can't appease evil. Evil will turn around and eat you alive. Unfortunately, in America as elsewhere, we call evil good and good evil. See Bible for details.

Ha! The gall of China! They scolded Israel saying their actions are going beyond self defense. What hypocrites. Think the Uighurs and Nepaleses evil wicked Communists. You have killed thousands as you have invaded their communities/land. Both have tried to defend their lifestyles and/or land from your murderous atrocities. You have no moral standing to say anything to Israel! First, live out your scolding for multiple generations, change your evil form of government, be a shining light on a hill. Then, you may have standing! Standing and trust have to be earned cancerous goons!

Turn Gaza, Judea and Samaria ( the erstwhile West Bank) into glass factories and then create a 25 mile DMZ in south Lebanon.

In my humble opinion, at the end of the day this is going to be about bringing Iran to heel.

I think it’s finally dawned on somebody either at State or the Military that having the Iranian goat-fr’s running around with ‘The’ bomb might not move civilization forward all that much.

But the US can’t be seen to be the prime mover. That’s why they’re supporting Israel. They’ll let Israel (and their brand spanking new F-35’s) do it… and I’m OK with that!

Iran has a history of resisting outside influence. No amount of diplomacy is going to work with them. The current government there is the problem. If Israel wants to finish the job, they should go into Iran and eliminate their government and warn Iran that the replacements better not be more of the same. And WE need to back them up.

The Palestinians are a fake group of people created after 1967 to be used as human shields or human bombs to destroy Jews. If they needed a place to live, there is lots of land in the Middle East where they could have their own country. Saudi Arabia is creating a City called Noem out of the desert. No one wants them because they understand they contribute nothing to society, other than the ability to create destruction and death.

Another difference between the two wars is that apparently Xiden can send billion$ to Ukraine all on his own any time he feels like it, but we can’t send aid to Israel because we currently have no speaker to pass the proper legislation in the House. How does that work?

(I’m assuming that the difference is that Israel isn’t giving 10% to Joe and they don’t have all of the means to blackmail him the way Ukraine does. Too bad that Hunter never tried to cut any deals in Israel.)

Hamas uses Palestinian civilians as human shield and hostages. Some accept that role because like the spouses of domestic abusers they can't bear to admit the truth. Those who try to leave are prevented and even murdered by Hamas. Once the Israeli operation in Gaza gets underway the Leftist western pro-Palestinian press will have non-stop coverage of the toll the war takes on civilians. After maybe 3 or 4 weeks Western resolve will weaken and Western leaders, along with the Netanyahu hating Israeli Left will pressure Netanyahu to call an end to it. That has been the pattern in the past and sadly will be repeated. Palestinian terrorism will live to murder Israelis another day.

People like their lives the way they are. If they don't they change them.

I chose arrests and trials for leaders because I don't think the terrorists are in Gaza at this point. They'll regroup and strike again. I'm in favor of leveling Gaza, but don't think it will impact Hamas.

I would rather see public trials and hangings of traitors and terrorists.

Thanks to FJB and his open door policy at the southern border, America probably has many Iranian sleeper cells waiting to be activated for similar destruction here. The goal is to start WWIII.

Excellent post, sir. However, I think you are missing the biggest difference, Don. Israel is generally hated by the left because Jews: the Ukraine isn't. Anti-semitism is part and parcel of the left belief system these days. Hence watch as the US government starts walking back on support.

I tend to differentiate between secular Jews, on one side, and religious Jews and Zionists on the other. Correct.

“Russia taking over Ukraine would suck for Ukrainians but it posed little if any threat to me or my country.”

Correct. Except for the U.S. politicians laundering money through Ukraine.

Very nice summary of the evils of Palestinians. Britain declared them in 1922. The UN ‘gave’ them a ‘state’ in 1948 which is Jordan. In 1964 the PLO was created to agitate against Jews.

It is all propaganda all the time as division is the goal. Trump brokered peace among the real People and they kicked him out of orifice.

Expand full comment

There’s one other factor here that has to be mentioned besides the fact that every generation of Jews has to fend off genocide.

Much of the resurgence of Jew hatred comes from funding by Muslim groups of antisemitic organizations. It goes back to money. Qatar, Iran, other Arabs fund this garbage. It’s ubiquitous. They fund the mosques and the religious schools, which are starting to pop up in the United States, where this theofascist religion and its doctrine of hate get taught. Don’t be fooled. Money matters. It’s why 9/11 efforts never ended up going after the Saudis as was indicated and ndvesssary.

Some people say that Israel’s fight is not their fight. They don’t care. That’s fine. That’s their prerogative. I think it displays a lack of compassion, but that’s my issue. But if you believe that yo are safe with the immigration policies and Leftist tendencies in America and the West, you are sticking your head in the sand. These creeps are here and they are coming for everybody. They murder Christians with impunity as well. Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists, atheists. They don’t care. Convert, be a slave or die. It’s in your self interest to support the fight against evil. It’s also morally correct. Just my two cents.

Thank you Don for your clear eyed discussion of world events every day. I always feel better when I read your stuff.

Two cheers for Putin here. On balance he has been good for Russia. When he first came to power in 2000, the communists had 50% popular support. Now it's 10%. There is no evidence he wants to occupy Ukraine. He invaded with 60,000 men, for very limited objectives, to save the Russian speaking people of the Donbass from being constantly bombed and shelled. Almost everybody in Crimea considers themselves to be Russian, and there were talks between U.S. and Ukraine about the US having a navy base there. How would we like to have a Chinese navy base in Mexico? The anti-Russian, anti-Putin hysteria drummed up by the Victoria Nulands are bizarre, irrational, and leading us to WWIII.

Ponder what is happening at this very moment. Israel has called up all of its reservists, and now has near a half-million men under arms. Most of Israel's political leaders have called for a ground war to eradicate all remnants of Hamas in Gaza. Most Israeli citizens support this. Yet so far, there has been no indication that the ground attack has commenced. Meanwhile, support for such an Israeli ground offensive is cooling among the leaders of other nations, especially among our own DC cabal. Biden is now asking China (!) to help mediate a resolution. Despite all the warlike rhetoric, the last thing the Biden cabal wants is for Israel to grind through northern Gaza, killing a lot of people, including "civilians." Why is this, you may ask? Look to the source of funding of the democrat party. (Yes, always follow the money, dear friends.) Over 50% of ALL contributions to the democrat party and its politicians comes from wealthy Jews, who are overwhelmingly in support of Israel and would thus favor a ground war of annihilation. However, contrast the polling! Over 50% of all American Jews (not just the high-rolling political contributors) look favorably upon the "Palestinians" and the same majority of ALL democrat voters polls likewise! So if Biden pleases his financial backers, the democrats may well lose in the next election cycle, but if he pleases the democrat voting base, the party may well lose its wealthy Jewish supporters. So Biden's puppeteers have to pay a double game, and very carefully navigate the waters between full support for Israeli military action and a fear of voter reaction against the party in the upcoming elections should they follow through on this. The democrat party is full of contradictions here, simply because it is a coalition of groups that hold opposite views and are united only in their hatred of Trump and Trump's MAGA supporters (i.e., traditional, normal Americans). Netanyahu also knows Israel can not prosecute a ground war without full and unequivocal American support. Despite majority republican sentiment for an Israeli annihilation of Hamas at any cost, it is the democrats who effectively control the American war machine and so it is the democrats who will decide what America will do. On account of this, I predict that we will see a gradual shrinking back from a ground offensive of any magnitude, and instead of a military victory, Israel may very well have to content itself with a rhetorical one, i.e., declare victory and go home, as we did in Iraq and Afghanistan, with its tail between its legs. Meanwhile, does anybody know or care what is going on in eastern Ukraine? Anybody? Buehler? Buehler? I shall conclude by reiterating what I have said on every occasion in which I have commented on either Ukraine or Israel/Hamas, viz., neither of these conflicts is one that involves American interests directly or vitally. Let the Russians sort things out with the Ukrainians and let the Israelis settle their hash with the islamists. We need to look after our own best interests by closing our borders, deporting all illegals, suspending profligate government spending and rooting out the traitors in our midst, by which I mean voting out all democrats, everywhere so that the American Republic can be reclaimed from its enemies.

All true. Netanyahu said this will be a long and nasty effort. Emphasis on the LONG.... They have to prep the battlefield first. They've been there before so probably are well aware of what they are up against. A large portion of the reservists will not go to Gaza but will be dedicated to protecting Israel from other neighboring nations/actors. They have to defend in all directions. I am particularly interested in how the IDF will neutralize the tunnel complex. They've had plenty of time to think about it and develop the necessary toolkits i.e. robots etc. Tunnels have long been a problem for soldiers. Tunnels can potentially be turned into mass graves as well.....
