Young teens are also going through one the most important crossroads of their entire lives, a time when they are just discovering what a harsh place this world really can be, trying figuring out how to navigate their way through this scary place and how do they fit into it.
They need wise and genuinely caring people to help guide them and prevent them from making inalterable choices that will change their lives forever, and if that means strict rules by their parents, or laws to keep them from doing so, than that is wisdom. That is love.

One of the guys who I enjoyed talking to had gone thru an elite British Survival course where they take you at night via aircraft out an area you are not familiar with (in this case I believe it was Cyprus), they dump you with minimal equipment and you have to figure out where you are, navigate, survive off the land, and get to a prearranged location. The local inhabitants are told you are escaped prisoners or something like that and you are on your own. My friend got so hungry and desperate he stalked a farmers chicken at night, caught it, went off a ways, killed it and ate part of it raw. He made it back and passed the course but said he never could look a piece of chicken in the face after that ordeal. But like he said, that chicken saved his life. Crazy world indeed.
