I would like to get something straight about John McCain and his running mate Sarah Palin. The ONLY reason John McCain received ANY votes in 2008 was that Sarah Palin was on the ticket. McCain was a traitor much like Jane Fonda and divorced his very loyal wife for a much younger woman--traits any liberal male has. I still think the full story of the death of Joe Bidens first wife has not been told.

Now, how about this. Today's article said " Do you really believe Hillary has forgotten about 2016?" Hilary is eight years older and 100# heavier, probably due to unchecked diabetes. You can only take face shots for so long and her ass is bigger than Chris Christies.

Loved Sarah Palin! And you're right. I only voted for McCain because of mamma bear. Oh and BTW, she destroyed Biden in the VP debate. Unlike Rino Ryan who was pathetic

I think Hitlery’s weight gain and possible diabetes are due to her alcoholism. Alcohol is basically created from sugar. When my mother finally quit drinking, she carried lemon drops in her purse for the rest of her life and after 35 years as a recovering alcoholic myself, I still crave sugar.

For the entirety of 0bama’s first term, I had a bumper sticker on my car which read, “Don’t Blame Me, I Voted For Palin”.

The sugar explanation makes sense. I have cut out most sugar for about 6 weeks now. I see and feel the difference. I miss it though.

The sugar obsession takes a few months to get rid of, but it never entirely leaves you. Stay strong, sweetie.---------------------

Me too mostly. I included too starches and I used to joke about bread, esp yeast rolls being my dessert. Ive been straying back into bad habits though so I got to get back on the wagon.

You know you have issues and that is the first step to "Recovery" although I hate that word. By training, I am a D&A Counselor. I used to have a sign that said "ANYONE WHO TRIES TO TELL YOU HOW BAD DRUGS AND ALCOHOL ARE FOR YOU WITHOUT NEVER HAVING BEEN THERE DOESN'T KNOW WHAT IN THE HELL THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT."

I have been there. What got me clean was myself. Rare, but not unheard of. I may be a live wire on this site, but I am full of compassion and I am the calm type. If you think you need guidance, don't hesitate to ask. I will reply in the morning time as very few people read yesterdays posts the next morning.

Thank you for the offer. Right now life has added some stressors that make me crave sugar. At least with being aware of the stressors, it lets me actively choose rather than just reaching for the sugar with no thought. I have a good support system. I bounce on and off the sugar/carb train pretty frequently and I have been making too many choices on the wrong side. Mostly it is because life interferes. Some of the stressors are being handled and that will help a lot. A lot of people think 'recovery' is a one time thing. It is an ever evolving thing, you just keep circling, making better habits. My problem is I used to be a perfectionist and would beat myself up for bad choices. It has taken God and yrs to beat it into my head, you do your best. Sometimes your best is not helpful but then move on. forgive yourself, and try again. Every day is new, every choice is new. I am ok at the moment but I do really appreciate your offer, and will probably shoot you a note now and then. Until the last couple of yrs, I did not realize just how much sugar mimicked the drugs.

Expand full comment

Very true. When I first went on the wagon, the sugar cravings were unbelievable, but I realized what It was and instead of just stopping, I'd have just a smaller and smaller amount until I just stopped the chocolate. I do have a PBJ on wheat every morning, which, believe it or not, keeps my diabetes in check. It sounds ridiculous, but Jif Creamy has the lowest sugar and if you want jelly, there are lots of healthy (and UNhealthy) choices out there. Where there is will, there is a way.

Yep, 2003/4 and the Patriot Act and 'going to war in Iraq' were my first tip-off's to the establishment running the puppet. 2008 further confirmed it when Palin was the sole reason for the 6 point lead in Sept 2008. Funny how the housing crash of 2008 happened right before the elections... Nothing to see there...

I'm a living relic to that housing thingy. I applied for a home loan in my own name, and because of my zip code, the agency assumed I was Black, and I got the loan, no sweat. Six months later, the loan agency said they didn't have my signature anywhere. Since I was raised right, I said bring the papers to me and I'll sign them. If I had been the crook of my dreams, I'd have said Tough Tushie, go fish. But I signed the papers they over-nighted to my house.

I might be inclined to edit it to read as, “Every time you say, 'there ought to be a law,' a bureaucracy gets its horns.”

Funny guy! Spot on, though.

Expand full comment

So true. Best line ever. Applies to all local and state governments too, not just the feds. Only here in Georgia, the governor actually gave back some of the annual state tax collected. I nearly fell over. But then he is a fiscal hawk Republican.. Democrats everywhere wept when they heard about it.

And Kemp is a Never-Trumper who has let corrupt elections infect Georgia. At least he’s not Stacy “All-World” Abrams.

Expand full comment

That is the best and only soul-saving way to think about Kemp. I’ll vote for him in the Senate race to unseat Ossoff, but I won’t like it and hope Republicans gain control of the Senate. Although even when they win control, they manage to lose—always. smh

Expand full comment

I am assuming that Trump won't be able to win Georgia.

Expand full comment

You are correct! That line is applicable to state and local governments. We are so concerned with D.C. overspending (and over-reach) that those local governmental agencies that directly and immediately affect us gets over looked. It does matter who your county’s sheriff and who your county commissioners and your state representative and state senators, too, also.

We live in NE Georgia. Shocked about that rebate, too, but are somehow exempt because of our ages, I think. Still pleased Kemp did this.

As we understand it, Georgia has a law that caps the amount of money our state’s emergency fund can hold. Until that amount is adjusted for inflation, each GA Governor who faces a surplus revenue must find ways to spend it. I’m surprised that our state legislatures haven’t raised the emergency fund ceiling.

Kemp, of course, is laying the political groundwork for his 2026 Republican Senate campaign to unseat soi boi Ossoff. We’ll see if the corrupt dem Atlanta election fraud machine will “let” him win. Atlanta is operating under Chicago mode over the last few years. I don’t see that changing any time soon.

I love me some dem tears, too!

If they're not doing a 100% news EMBARGO they are LYING.

I'm a free speech absolutist (ie. more speech is better than less speech) but when the left CONTROLS (ALMOST) ALL THE lines of communication, WHAT CAN BE DONE???

If people KNEW MORE, they'd VOTE in a MORE INFORMED WAY.

Polls (ha) even reflected that after 2020 re: "the laptop" showing Biden would have not gotten enough actual votes (supplemented by the massive fraudulent ones) to "win" and Trump would have remained in the White House!!!
