There is a very good reason why Medieval courts had jesters.

The jester did not just mock the King without consequence.

He mocked everyone from bishops to chambermaids.

With everyone watching each other their responses to mockery would reveal much.

It worked then .

It works now.

In boring meetings when some pretentious prat would be droning on, in love with their own voice, I used to delight in smiling knowingly at them.

Timed right, without saying a word, it could derail their train of “thought” and shut them down.

Good times…
