Left boycotts Hershey too

Oh those silly conservatives.

Vice reported, “Right-wingers across North America are harassing a [transvestite] and threatening to boycott Hershey after the chocolate company included [him] in a PR campaign to ‘celebrate women changing the future.’

“The vitriol aimed at 27-year-old Fae Johnstone is just the latest attempt by the right to paint massive corporations as ‘woke’ over the issue of visibility for minority groups, particularly [transvestites]. And it comes as right-wing legislators and commentators not only attempt to further restrict access to healthcare for trans adults as well as children but aggressively attack the idea of [transvestite] existence entirely.”

Johnstone is a professional LGBT activist. He looks like James O’Keefe with long flowing red hair, lipstick and a nose ring. It is the nose ring I object to. It looks like Johnstone didn’t wipe his nose properly.

CBN News reported, “Johnstone’s involvement in the ad campaign has sparked a strong reaction. Some have accused Hershey of expressing hatred of biological women.”

Indeed, Cheryl K. Chumley of the Washington Times wrote, “Hershey decided as part of its International Women’s Day campaign in Canada to celebrate men who pretend to be women.

“To paraphrase from singer Helen Reddy: I am woman — hear me boycott Hershey.”

Helen Reddy is no longer with us, but other feminists are put off by the trannies. The feeling is mutual. Many in the trans movement put down real women — such as J.K. Rowling — as TERFs, an acronym for trans-exclusionary radical feminist.

While pushing the cast of Harry Potter movies to disassociate with the character’s creator is OK, who boycotts food? I mean besides boycotting Coca-Cola, Kellogg's and Wendy’s. Those make sense to lefties. But Hershey is a candy. Who boycotts candy? I mean except for Nestle’s because Nestle’s is bad, right?

Only evil conservatives would boycott Hershey, right?

Well, maybe not.

Alisa Patience wrote on March 22, 2017, “Imagine, for a moment, that you’ve been happily married for years. You’re convinced that you and your spouse are soul mates. They have no flaws. They’re sweet, rich, good looking and they smell good. One day you decide to surprise them at work, but when you get to their office, you find out they are abusing children, treating them as slaves.

“They defend themselves, saying, ‘It’s the most efficient way to increase productivity,’ and, ‘It doesn’t matter, they live in other countries so you never need to see them.’ Here’s the thought experiment: Would you divorce your spouse?”

I asked Lou Ann, my wife of 45 years, if she is abusing children and treating them as slaves. She gave me that are-you-bonkers? look she gives me whenever I ask her any liberal’s question. I will take that as a no.

Patience continued, “Believe it or not, this perfectly describes the situation I’m currently in with Hershey’s chocolate. It was recently brought to my attention that Hershey is an unethical chocolate company. Their cocoa is grown and harvested by slaves. I was devastated to learn this.

“How could something that tastes like love and happiness be made with everything but? How could the one thing I’ve always depended on to spread joy and peace be one of the products that are terribly wrong with the world? In spite of my love for Hershey chocolate, I immediately made the decision to boycott Hershey and other chocolate companies that make my favorite treats, which include and are unfortunately not limited to Reese’s, Kit Kats, M&M and the Hershey chocolate bar.”

That’s a serious reason to boycott because it involves child slavery, which is why I don’t use Apple or wear Nike shoes. Their products are made in Red China which has enslaved a million Muslim Uygurs. Alas, lefties are cool with this slavery. They are, after all, Maoists and to them nothing Red China does is wrong.

But please do not dismiss this conservative boycott as reactionary. Conservatives are turning tables on the left. For years, liberals have used boycotts to coerce companies to promote transvestites and other LGBT causes.

Insider reported on December 2, 2020, “Activists are calling for shoppers to boycott Lush after the cosmetics retailer donated £3,000 ($4,000) to A Woman's Place UK, which has been accused of anti-transgender behavior.”

$4,000 is less than petty cash compared to the millions corporations give LGBT groups and other lefty grifters. Any donation to a conservative cause is too much for these fascists. They forced the CEO of Mozilla (Firefox) to resign over a $1,000 donation that the Star Chamber declared was politically incorrect.

The press as always sides with the LGBT crowd in the boycott of Hershey.

Time magazine said, “the controversy is reminiscent of after Mars Wrigley [the owner of M&M] changed the shoes of some of the candies.”

It quoted Deb Gabor, CEO of branding agency Sol Marketing, who said. “You have people who are sort of divided over what role do brands truly play in these like highly, politically charged and, you know, sort of divisive social issues.”

But as I pointed out on February 3, M&M’s pro-LGBT marketing plan was a miserable failure. Before the campaign began, M&M was the most popular Halloween candy of 2021 — the peak season for candy sellers.

M&M was the fifth-most popular Halloween candy of 2022.

After customers balked, M&M dialed its inclusivity back to plain and peanut. The brand was so damaged that the company hired Maya Rudolph as its pitchman and dumped the talking candies after 70 years of ads on TV. The company even changed the name to Ma&Ya’s.

Despite the M&M LGBT campaign failing, Hershey is going full Tammy Wynette and will Stand By Her Man. I suppose I should make that Stand By Hershey’s Trans.

A Hershey spokesman told Bloomberg, “We value togetherness and recognize the strength created by diversity. Over the past three years, our Women’s History Month programming has been an inclusive celebration of women and their impact. We appreciate the countless people and meaningful partnerships behind these efforts.”

The message to conservatives is clear. Hershey does not want our money. For now. But I remind readers that Miss Wynette was married five times.
