ITEM 25: John Nolte reported, “Now that Pixar’s Elemental has opened to a pathetic $3.5 million on Thursday, the groomers and child abusers at Disney appear to have yet another box office catastrophe on their hands.”

Please forgive me for banging my own drum.

It was obvious from the start that Iger made a huge mistake returning to Disney to try to “fix” it, and I said so. And so far, he’s precisely on schedule.

That wouldn’t be enough to justify the public self-congrats. Nope. Here’s what does:

https://www.google.com/search?q=disney+cfo+retires&oq=disney+cfo+retires&aqs=chrome..69i57j0i22i30j0i390i650l4.113679123j1j15&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8

He just FIRED the woman who had convinced him (Iger) to come back to Disney!!!

“Retired” my ass. And don’t cha just love that photo of her glaring at someone?

“ ‘Retired,’ my ass,” continued --- the next headline…

“Disney CFO leaves after tense relations with execs”

Well, yeah, one would imagine the “tense relations” going on in a company that’s in financial free-fall due solely to their inexhaustible arrogance/hubris.

You’d think that none of these boobs had ever heard of this happening before… at:

--- General Electric (owned NBC prior to selling it to Viacom); and

--- Universal, after the Japanese bought the company:

https://www.nytimes.com/1990/11/25/us/japanese-believed-near-purchase-of-the-owner-of-universal-studios.html

I witnessed the exact same “Disney-free fall” event at the once-mighty Dai Ichi Kangyo Bank in 1991-94 (busted up and sold for scrap in 1997). What a wonderful feeling it was to know that I wasn’t personally responsible for the evils that they had justly brought down on their heads.

Whatever legal firms these people use: Boycott it

Start taking the corporate shield away from these people as a company is just the vehicle we let these monsters use to push their agenda so let's start calling them out and Scarlet lettering them.

Completely accurate:

Every single (major) company seems to be a part of it; in some way; (I blame that on the creation and acceptance of the DEI officers) and of course the ideology of the leadership. It's almost like; for now only hopefully; we have to take the lesser of 2 evils. For ex. (at least in banking; and full disclosure; I work for a major financial institution) While Citi may be huge in the BLM/ CRT support; Goldman may be huge into the ESG scam; while BofA may be in all of those plus actively opening accounts for illegals. So, I guess pick the one you can still sleep comfortably at night; and hope that Companies like "old glory bank" aren't just a marketing gimmick to grab conservatives. And hopefully the woke bubble pops and these companies are forced to change their tactics.

I have donated to the GoFundMe twice. Once to the young man who the communist DA of Manhattan, Alvin Bragg, decided was a criminal by the name of Daniel Penny (The NY subway hero) and the other was a church pastor who threw out of his church when the local useless police tried to shut him down in the middle of a church service during Covid. To me, both causes were both necessary and important. Trying to bribe Joe Biden is a waste of time and money. Besides, GoFundMe would NEVER have enough money to do so

Sadly, the ball club doesn't care about the gate for one game out of 81.

It already has its revenue from its own network and streaming deals, plus that from MLB's broadcast rights with FauxSports.

Now, if "fans" stay away in roughly similar numbers for the rest of the season, next season, and the one after that, the organization might wonder if something is wrong - but don't count on it.

Expand full comment

It still damages the brand. These sports teams just need to play ball and to stop flogging ideologies that aren’t appealing to everyone. It’s time to get back to business.

Expand full comment

As far as I'm concerned, the brand has been totaled - starting with its response to covid, to the DH in both leagues instead of abolishing it, entirely.

Ordinarily, I don't offer my own as a point of reference, but in this instance, it can be justified:

I just read that the video you posted was made an hour before the first pitch. The managers probably did that on purpose to cover their asses. I wonder how many people showed up later for the game later. I can’t find any numbers but would like to know.

Expand full comment

if people had showed up, the Dodgers ect would be touting it. Since it is crickets, I bet the stadium looked the same an hour or two later.

Expand full comment

Most of the tickets were already sold, so I imagine they had a typical gate, maybe down a bit. But if it arrived exceedingly late, that cost the concession folks a ton of dollars. And that is more important than hurting the Dodgers. Hurt the people they do business with and with whom they have endorsement deals. Make endorsing the Dodgers a bad business decision.

The players have pretty much started telling the owners to hell with their political posturing.

5 - We now live in an apartheid country where a small corrupt cadre of grifting political hacks, wealthy elitists, LGBT militants and black supremacists rule over the much, much larger majority population. Maine, where I live, just like NH and VT used to be a solid Yankee Republican state. Now we are an apartheid state ruled by the lavender mafia, psychotic liberal white women and urban transplants from away who are more like missionaries. Not only do they keep voting D unlike the urban refugees escaping to FL and TX and registering as R's, they get on the city councils, town selectboards and local schoolboards.
