You rock as always Don.

Item 20. Dr Carson is a true gift from God for his patients.

Off topic sort of ~ Did anyone else besides me notice that the polls changed abruptly after Jill's Biden's interview where she was asked about Xiden trailing hard? She was adamant that the polls were reading the other way or wrong. The next day Xiden went from -5/-10 to being even or slightly ahead. It was literally overnight. Seemed awfully strange. I figure the polls added another 15% to 20% dems to the sampling but it was notable.

Adorable Deplorable's avatar

Dr. Carson can be a true gift for all of us if Trump picks him as his VP. Might be one of the few people of true character in the entire swamp. I remember a town-hall meeting when the discussion was about lower taxes and someone asked him how then would we care for the poor. His reply was "tithe". Brilliant. I'm a believer, as Dr. Carson seems to be, that the local community could care for the poor a whole lot better than government.

tj's avatar

You both are right. When the churches were the safety net, things worked a whole lot better, tailored to the community. Now though, the government pays the NGOs (in a lot of cases, churches ect) to do work such as the Catholic Church. That needs to stop. Those NGOs are the ones helping the illegals over the boarder because the NGO gets paid by the person.

Jeremy R's avatar

Our Constitution bars government interference in the workings of the church, yet we have allowed them to take over the charity portion because they can get votes with the bribery.

tj's avatar

And yes, I think Dr Carson would make a great VP.

Steve Boggs's avatar

I agree, if we’re thinking about the role most VPs play, that aren’t called upon to be president.

But it would be pure conjecture that his gifts translate to being a great POTUS. It would be a gamble.

He’s certainly met and overcome many challenges in life, and excelled. His reputation is based on out-of-the-box cool-headed thinking and execution, in life or death situations. And he seems equal parts heart and brains.

There, I’ve talked myself into it. Dr. Carson for VP! Agreed

Mark's avatar

Respectfully no. He is too passive and too old to be POTUS 2028. Suggest.Vivek or wild card Vance or Gabbard.

tj's avatar

Not sure if Vance has the seasoning. He may for business but not for the swamp. Gabbard survived the fires there and is still standing so I would pick her too.

Marlan Hoerer's avatar

Tulsi is still a lib at heart.

Mark's avatar

Marlan, President Trump is a New York liberal at heart and he changed and saw the light. Tulsi is a veteran, smart and has changed. She has all of the right qualities to help. Trump win and potentially serve our next president.

Marlan Hoerer's avatar

Donald Trump is a businessman donating to whomever may grease the path to increasing his holdings, but he also is a man who loves America and the American Dream. In the late 80s and early 90s he was on various TV shows talking of how we were losing these dreams to foreign countries because of DC politics. The downhill race began with pres.GHWB and has only accelerated since with a hiccup for PDJTs one man battle of the swamp.Tulsi has changed but maybe serving with PDJT will make her actually swallow the red pill for a 2028 run.

Jake's avatar

Never trust a poll of any type. When I see a "polls say" article I go no farther. The left and the right spend millions trying to influence potential voters. Polling is one of their primary mechanisms.

Jeremy R's avatar

I hate the blame game that follows.

The poles say this, the poles say that, then BAM the poles were wrong!

I'm so sick of it I'm ready to move back to Krakow.

Quit claiming us Polish are political experts. Not all of us are Lech Walesa.

Marlan Hoerer's avatar

Dennis you are spot on as polls are set-ups with goals pre met.

MBethamn's avatar

That includes the vexsome poll cat.

tj's avatar

I dont, just with everyone blasting the numbers it was hard to miss the abrupt change from Trump 6,8,10 pts ahead to even or slightly behind.

Suzie's avatar

It happened immediately after Biden chided the MSM for constantly publishing bad polling numbers a few weeks ago.

Immediately!

tj's avatar

Right after Jills interview. The next day in fact.

Craniosynostosis surgery is actually more of a cosmetic procedure rather than a life saving one. While aspects of it are difficult, the neurosurgeons part is rather standard (craniotomy) the craniofacial surgeons part and is the more difficult aspect. However neither is life saving. Actually the pediatric anesthesiologist probably had the hardest job as the fluid shifts in a 4 month old are the dangerous part of the surgery. However Carson is a gift.

Steve (recovering lawyer)'s avatar

No offense, but did you just describe a procedure involving the removal of a portion of a patient's skull as "rather standard, " and"more of a cosmetic procedure"? By that standard, I suppose a procedure involving refueling a rocket while in orbit could be described as nothing more than a trip to the gas station.

Mark's avatar

Steve, I do this procedure, there are a lot more difficult ones. :)

Tanto Minchiata's avatar

Depends on the deformity and the procedure. Some of these surgeries are quite intricate. I didn't know you were a plastic surgeon, Mark. Or perhaps a neurosurgeon.

Mark's avatar

I said I did trauma surgery not what type :) most of these cases are straight forward not like the original Tessier flogs. The hard part is anesthesia due to blood loss and blood volume. However today most procedures are done with endoscopic guidance and strip craniectomy followed by helmet use.

Tanto Minchiata's avatar

Yes, for infants under 6 months and with more straightforward deformities. For kids with multiple suture fusions and who may need frontoorbital advancement and vault reshaping it’s not so streamlined. But yes, craniotomy is basic neurosurgery.

Jeremy R's avatar

You still believe the polls actually call people? At this point it's being done with AI.

tj's avatar

I dont believe them but I just found it interesting the numbers changed so hard, so fast. Kinda hard to miss everyone blasting the poll numbers. And yeah, AI is probably most of it now.

marbucks's avatar

You’re probably right.

Richard White's avatar

I had noticed that the polls did go slightly up for Beijing Joe, which I thought was odd, considering the steady increase in the spread favoring Trump over the last couple of months. Who cares what the polls say now? We're 6 1/2 months out still. Anything could happen, but I'll bet that whatever does happen will favor the Donald.

tj's avatar

I am praying they cant print enough ballots to over come his voters.

Those girls did the boy a favor - they refused to participate in and enable his mental illness that manifests in delusion. Would that the adults around him would do the same.

Jake's avatar

When we were kids they tested female Olympic athletes for testosterone. The East Germans and Russians were always trying to slip one past the goalie by juicing their female athletes. I wonder if the Olympics will change or go back to testing. I'm guessing they'll quit testing for testosterone...

Please God, we are holding on, and trusting your words through the prophets.. but it is getting to the extreme... when Lord, when?

God bless his devotees.. stock up and arm up

Don Surber's avatar

The Lord has been there for us through worse times. Patience and prayer.

Mark's avatar

We have been in worse times in this country. Imagine being in 1859/1914/1941. We will be ok.

Steve Boggs's avatar

The problem is- the “we” have changed significantly.

But regardless, the role we must play as God gives us opportunity is our duty. He’s the Savior- of men and nations, and he determines outcomes.

Steve (recovering lawyer)'s avatar

I do so love an optimist! And pray you are correct.

Mark's avatar

Everything is always worse when you’re living it, rather than studying it.

Kevin Loving's avatar

I will take this opportunity to apologize to you Don. A few months ago I thought we should give Mike Johnson a "chance"... Well, I was wrong! I don't know if he "sold out" or was lying the whole time; but after this week it is clear he is not a conservative!

tj's avatar

His stepson was arrested 2-3 days after he won the speakership. Stories about that gone a few hours later. I figure blackmail.

Gail W's avatar

The Johnson's were his legal foster parents.

Not stepson nor did they legally adopt him.

Don Reed's avatar

How is it possible to blackmail someone who looks like Dennis The Menace's father?

Suzie's avatar

You just threaten to make his and his family member’s lives a misery if he doesn’t tow the uniparty line, and as Schumer so infamously claimed, “they have six ways from Sunday to get you.”

Suzie's avatar

I have an idea (uh oh!):

How about we call a National Day of Repentance?

It will be kicked off in the Capitol, whereby every single Representative and Senator will step up to the podium, confess their sins/faults/whatever and/or reveal how the Federal government threatened to use that sin/fault/whatever against them in order to coerce their obedience to the State and control their votes.

Sunlight = the best disinfectant.

“Confess your faults one to another that ye may be healed.”

“Know the truth and The truth shall set you free!!”

Steve (recovering lawyer)'s avatar

But if they do that, what will happen to all that taxpayer money stashed away to pay off the sexual harassment claims?

Suzie's avatar

They can give it to Michael Cohen to pay off their accusers.

Oh, wait….

tj's avatar

They would spend it somehow.....

Adorable Deplorable's avatar

The blackmail is rampant. Sometimes there is no other place to look than the most obvious. As with Bill Barr.

Jake's avatar

Shouldn't that go both ways? We had the House, the Senate and the Presidency once upon a time. The Dems were stronger than ever under Pelosi and Shumer. Republicans just don't seem to have a pair or they leave them home when they move to Washington...

Item 12

Seems NYC has gotten itself into the proverbial toilet swirl:

Nobody is going there because of the illegals and the crime they cause and the hotel operators can only get illegals-paid for by us- to stay there and there are not many rooms available for tourists but the tourists are staying away because of the illegal and the crime..

kind of the self fulfilling thing… you know … the thing.

tj's avatar

If the illegals get up and leave or NYC quits paying for all their stuff, NYC will start the death spiral that is happening in San Fran and other places. Didnt help NYC canceled some of the tourists rooms for one of the big events, or kicked all the veterans out of the nursing homes.

Ronsonic's avatar

ITEM 3: "If NYT wants to turn a profit, it should sell whatever Friedman is smoking."

They do, they call it liberalism.

Another great post, Don.

Now remember Mary Jo Kopechne in your prayers, she gave her life that Ted Kennedy would not become President.

#6, perhaps Robert Reiiiiiiiiich (as Rush called him) should ask Elena Kagan why she didn’t recuse herself from the 0bamacare case when it came before the SCOTUS. She was, after all, previously an attorney for the committee which came up with that horrendous piece of insanity.

How was that not a scandal of epic proportions?

Marlan Hoerer's avatar

i agree. only women can bring to a halt gay boys taking over their sports. just as only women can stop the killing of unborn children. it's up to them really. men can support but women have to lead on those issues.

Item #6: “Overturn the election”, “election denier”, “there was no evidence of irregularities” These are the lies the left tell to feel good about (P)resident 81 million. In reality all that was wanted was an honest and fair counting of ballots according to the law. The supposed lack of evidence was due to too many courts allowing the law to be changed (illegally) at the last minute or refusing to listen to evidence of very obvious cheating.

Item #9: Little known fact: when God finished with Eve He went on to experiment with Keith Richards.

Today’s Poll: Where should we send Biden when his term is up?

Epstein Island? He’s probably been.

Fantasy Island? He’s there already.

Cannibal Island? Why punish the cannibals?

Island of Misfit Never Trumpers? Too crowded, it might tip over.

Alcatraz? Good possibility if his only companions are Hunter and (DOCTOR!) Jill.

Shrugged's avatar

ITEM 21: “Princeton professor Eddie Glaude Jr. said . . . . that if former President Donald Trump wins the November election, it will end democracy.”

Thank you for suggesting there is a distinction between a democracy and a constitutional republic in your comment about this. They are NOT synonyms. We never want a Democracy.

We MUST destroy the media's broad and frequent use of the term "Democracy" in reference to our government. Both parties are guilty. The Dems want a democracy because it is a tyranny of the majority (i.e. popular vote) and, in it's pure form, will strip individual liberty from all of us, not to mention it will put them in power forever.

NNTX's avatar

Factoid, apparently Prof. Glaude authored a piece in Time entitled "The Fantasy of a Lily White America" 4 days ago. Didn't click on the link to prevent $$ going to another leftist rag.

Interesting. Thanks for sharing.

Item 1: Judge Merchan will insure that Trump is sentenced to prison for a felony. The Dems in Congress have introduced a bill to remove Secret service protection from a protectee convicted of a felony. It's clear that they plan to do a Jeffrey Epstein on Trump in a NY prison. What will the Stupid Party do?

Mark's avatar

Won’t get through house. Don’t worry. Remember what happened when fictional Obi wan was struck down or the real Mandela imprisoned. It takes a spark to light a fire.

Denton Salle's avatar

Roll over like a poodle

tj's avatar

What I find hilarious is Yep, it removes Trumps Secret service but then he is not the only one up on Federal charges. I would split a gut if Hunter got trapped in that no Secret Service in jail bill too. Dems really really dont consider all the ramifications.

Don, please help! I see a thing. Or is it just me? My assessment of Biden is that he is a pathological liar whose purpose in life is to enrich himself, family and friends while destroying our country. Now I admit my opinions are no more than 50 years old and still evolving but I am really becoming confused. Maybe I'm wrong about Biden because when I see his latest lies, the MSM tells me to ignore my lying eyes. I am not told he has lied. I am told Biden suggests. (His uncle was eaten by cannibals.) Biden misspoke. (His son was killed in Iraq.) The White House clarified Biden's remarks. Biden inadvertently mishandled whatever. Maybe he really is a kind hearted man doing his best for us all. Maybe, just as the MSM tells me, its that Trump guy who lies all the time.

Dennis's avatar

It’s not at all just you. Biden is the epitome of a pathological lying politician. What he said five minutes ago matters not if he believes changing the story would help him now. Politicians are not about telling the truth. They are about being reelected. We need term limits now for politicians and bureaucrats.
