Today, things have loosened up. We'll see if it continues with the emergence of a new pandemic.
You may recall that India became a case study supporting IVM use when the country sent IVM to every citizen with a recommendation to take it. They had a significantly lower (Hugely lower) incident rate of Covid. While not official, it was considered to be very close to being a clinical trial and clear evidence of its efficacy.

I'm sorry to hear that was your experience but I got Ivermectin in 2021 from a compounding pharmacy without any issues. Mailed to my door.
