The article said:

ITEM 13: Fox 5 reported, “Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens announced a $55,000 proposal to help support the transgender community of Atlanta. The funding, if approved, would allocate donations to a variety of organizations that focus on the betterment of trans adults and youth.”

I say:

That's right, stupid. Waste $55,000 on people who don't even know what sex they are. But, hey, if you want to screw something up, put the government in charge of it.

As fare as putting Liz Warren out of a job, I am all for it even if it means putting a political windmill like Charlie Baker in her place. Warren is just like Joe Biden. She is a pathological liar who simply canNOT tell the truth under any circumstances.

As far as Mr. Trump "shattering" norms, PLEASE DO.

The $55K will only "support" friends and relatives of the Mayor's immediate family in getting them on the government dole. You could look up all the "providers of homeless services" in San Francisco to understand why one BILLION is still not enough to get anyone off the street--not when portable toilets cost nearly two million each. They have contracts w/health care centers to supply drugs in blister packs so the med techs don't have to bother w/bottles. (HEB has free delivery) Do the patients complain? nah; they're all catatonic, and they don't pay for them, nor do I. You, the taxpayer, pays. The IGNORANCE is palpable. Without the Soviets holding down the BEST of the Nazi Divisions in the Eastern Front, D-Day would never have happened and Patton would still have been having tea-parties with the lonely English girls.

Classic American History. George C. Scott.

Stalin acknowledged, in Tehran, that without the United States lend lease, they would have lost the war. We supplied them with so much equipment that it seems impossible. As for the German army in France, Erwin Rommel wasn't in Russia. The Germans had a big fight on their hands in Russia, no doubt, and they took a calculated risk in shifting more units east. Once D-Day happened though, they fought more tenaciously against the capitalists then against their more closely in terms of politics, commie brethren.

Expand full comment

Without the Brits winning the battle of Britain, there would have been more German units in the east - earlier - and the Soviets would have been crushed.

Expand full comment

Oh, and without the political considerations the US made for the Brits and especially the Soviets, Patton would have been through Germany before the Soviets got through Poland.

Expand full comment

The U.S. and Britain sent odds and sods that helped the Soviets. True. But the single most import tool was the thousands of Studebaker trucks, conveyed through Iran. No question that was one of the keys.

BUT, the U.S. Army rejected the sloping armor tank design of an AMERICAN engineer, the very design the Soviets used for the T34, a tank that was far superior to the Sherman "Tommy Cooker".

Patton, still over-rated. The Germans were too tied down on the Russian Front to fight successfully on the Western Front.

As to the Battle of Britain, it is a fairly reasonable argument to suggest that without Hitler losing so many planes and pilots over England, that he lost complete air control over Russia, BUT Hitler did not lose his ground forces and did not have the Western Front to deal with when he attacked the Soviets.

Expand full comment

You are forgetting the Soviet winters. Remember what happened to Napoleon just over 100 years earlier

Expand full comment

Yep - true - but if there is nothing in the west - he gets to Moscow before the winter comes. Always tough to determine alternate history versions.

As to the tanks comparison - yeah the US tanks were often no match for those of the Germans or the Soviets - but that was never the point. When you outbuild your opponent's tank forces and they are faster and can get to theater quicker than your opponent, you typically win. The US had less superior armor, artillery, and planes. Even ships in comparison to Japan. What we had was the ability to build more stuff than anyone, AND get it in theater in quantity faster than anyone. Logistics is our country's middle name. The Soviets, had this mythical engagement ever occurred at the end of WWII, would have been overwhelmed. And of course by this time, we had the best fighters and bombers - and more of them. I'm sure Japan wishes we would have done so.

#13. In England, a boy who had been on puberty blockers underwent the dehumanizing procedure. Because his equipment never grew, it wasn't big enough to make a fake vagina so they instead used a section of his colon. He got an infection and subsequently died as a result. GOD is not mocked.

Somewhere here in the US of A, a daughter announced to her father that she was trans. The dad let out a squeal of delight and proclaimed that he too was trans and would come out of the closet with her. The next morning in celebration, he drove her to school wearing a dress, heels, a wig, make-up poorly applied, and over her objections walked her to class.

After two or three days the girl dropped the issue and returned to transitioning from a girl into a woman which is what they should be doing.

He cut his jeans just like hers her shorts, then proceeded to take her in THOSE homemade shorts every where she wore her short shorts. To school, her friends places, and all the teen haunts. Amazingly, like above, she returned to wearing normal clothes. Got to love smart, and loving fathers.

I still think this is the dying grasps of the Davos crowd realizing too many people know, don't like what they see, and they are trying to do all they can to push through things they think that will make it all inevitable before the response comes. #5: CNN is unintentionally practicing journalism.

In the real world, employees of most every other enterprise (while not prohibited from being critical of the boss' decisions), tend to be dismissed shortly after doing so publicly. With FauxNews finally revealing its true self, if Andrea Cooper is unhappy at CNN, I'm sure there's a home for it, there - or it could join Donna Lemon in the ranks of the unemployed.

#6: That seems rather inelegant for the Clinton crime family - executioner trainees, or are they outsourcing hits, now?

#11: Isn't that the mother of the character of Owen, from the movie, Throw Momma from the Train?

#22: "Our tanks should have arrived in Kyiv in 1945 and taken the Soviets out."

Wasn't that Gen. Patton's sentiment?

#23: "'...only this time with a greater command of the Republican Party's pressure points and a plan to demolish the federal bureaucracy.'"

I don't know - to me, "a plan to demolish the federal bureaucracy" sounds like a campaign slogan - maybe even an entire position paper.

If the editorial staff, columnists, and beat reporters of the fish wrap NYT believe that such coverage is putting Trump in a bad light, let's hope they don't think twice.

Now where can we fit in Larrry, Shemp, and Moe?.....The behavior of Roberts seems to be pulling The Supremes in that direction.
