#2, I read somewhere a couple of days ago that the Marine Corps Band has refused to keep playing Dr!!!!! Jill’s anthem to herself. Hope it’s true.

I think the Marine Corps band dropped it in 2022. HOWEVER…I have heard rumors that they are negotiating with Rick James, so they can play “Super Freak” instead. Fitting.

Worse, maybe, is that the primary Houston electricity supplier applied for one of mega million “grants” to upgrade and maintain lines and infrastructure against “climate” incidents like HURRICANE BERYL. OBiden and his administration rejected the application. Guess what Dem city and its neighbor cities have millions without power? And will do for days.

Expand full comment

Apparently FJB regime also rescinded the emergency declaration a couple of days after it was granted. Raw exercise of power to punish a Red State.

We live in Texas 7 most of the year. The electric situation there is a mess due to inept leadership at the grid overseer (ERCOT), federal mandates against oil/coal/natural gas (used for back up), huge draws of BITCOIN miners and server farms. Folks don't realize how much the tech "marvels" rely on electricity. And Abbott embraced wind power and other alternate energy sources too enthusiastically. These are not, in the inimitable phrasing of Dave Walsh, "continuously available" power sources.

Expand full comment

Aggie ex-guv Rick Perry was shilling a deal that would convert shuttered lignite power plants in Tx to power bitcoin mining. Not sure if it got funded, but from the Gov that 'deregulated' electric market in Texas' Perry sure looks like a sleezeball. Of course Texas has a Grid Independent from East & West Federal power grids, so blame is on....Texas State Legislature for selling out to Power Company lobbyists & ChiCom windmill DC_electric unreliable producers.

Good one. Steve, I refused to play the medicare question game a couple years ago. First, I told my doctor I wouldnt answer the stupid questions. When he objected I fired him. Went to another doctor I liked and told him up front the issue that brought me to him. I told him he could answer the questions for me if he chose. I said if he ever needed to test my brain I would be happy to solve any complex mathematical equation he could give me and his response was “you mean I have to learn math now too”? True story😂

Expand full comment

Great story. A lot of great doctors out there, you just have to sift thru them.

I recently went in to get another cortisone shot in my elbow. My old doctor had retired and the NP they gave me wouldn’t do it saying it wasn’t good for me but therapy would work. I waited for the obligatory Survey call and gave them a zero out of 5 stars. I waited for worried call and told them I couldn’t trust my care to a freshly minted NP who disagreed with a doctor that practiced for 40 yrs. They gave me the shot.

An interesting theory I heard recently is that Biden stays in but selects Hillary as VP, which will calm Hollywood and big donors because it brings Bill and Hill back into the whitehouse. After a very short time, Biden resigns due to health and Hillary finally gets her "First female president" status. I'm sure there will be money and pardons thrown in there as part of the deal. While the Clintons and Obamas are at odds privately, they have always worked hand-in-hand for the big picture.

This version of things solves the "we can't get rid of Joe" problem but puts a team favorite (at least to the donors) in the seat.

Bottom line: The only two brands that can possibly save the dems is an obama or a clinton - or a combination of both. There is no other name that comes close.

The VP serves at the pleasure of the president and last minute changes have been made before.

All of those who voted for her in 2016 (65.8 million).

Most of the moderates and independents didn't jump to Trump quickly or without trepidation. I would expect half or more to return to the Dem ticket if a Clinton or Obama are a part of it. Possibly a big majority of them, including many African Americans who have shifted to Trump.

Just a quick analysis of the last time it was Trump Vs Hillary in 2016 (recognizing this time she may not be at the top of the ticket):

Hillary got 65.8 million votes to Trump's 62.9 million. Hillary won the popular vote by 2.9 million votes. Trump won because of the electoral college (302 to 232) and swing states were the magic to that strong electoral victory.

Now the Dems have 12 - 16 million illegals who have been registered to vote and have smartphones to be constantly reminded to vote on election day by the DNC. They'll probably have an app to tell them where their closest polling location is (in states with no voter ID or citizenship check).

Item 12 re: the Soros-Abedin engagement. If, God help us, they produce a child, it would be the real life sequel to "Rosemary's Baby".

Item 22 - In one event, Slo Joe refers to Zelenskyy as Putin and Kamala Harris as Vice President Trump and yet many Democrats will actually vote for this semi-vegetable. It shows that Barnum was right when he said, "Many people are gullible and we can expect this to continue."

Item 23 - I read the commentary regarding trying to convince Never Trumpers to vote for Trump. My friends who are Never Trumpers, for the most part, due to their sanctimonious virtue signaling, have painted themselves into a corner. They will probably vote for Trump, but their egos will not allow them to say so openly. Closet hypocrites in my opinion.
