All true, but this is a tectonic shift in government. As such, Trump MUST be slow and careful to fully educate Americans - even the leftist lunatics - that the name of the humanitarian program WASN’T where the money went. He must avoid the appearance of being a dictator.

I understand we need to move fast and may only have two years before the midterms, but if this USAID firing isn't well-evidenced, the Dems will have ammunition in 2026 and the moderates may not stick with Trump. We need the DOGE 20-somethings to map the money trail and put people under oath to expose the corruption in money laundering. It must be done right or it will backfire.

Only then will the full weight of the matter sink in. Make Samantha Power squirm as she is forced to tell the truth.

Now we understand how/why AP was camped in Gaza and fronting for Hamas.

Name one great transformational leader that didn't fall. . . . . . .

Pride, power, and hubris is the downfall of many great leaders.

The moderates (Dems and Repubs) and libertarians don't see Trump as their savior like you apparently. They simply see a convenient problem solver for the moment.

That moment doesn't last very long when this stuff happens. Not every issue is solved with a wave of the hand.

Trump won because he spoke to the individual American and the Dems were out of touch with them. Thousands of people losing their career government jobs is an individual event that will put the Dems in touch with individual Americans - especially the empathetic moderates and libertarians. They may not be there in 2026 if these huge firings aren't handled with solid evidence and full explanation.

Not surprised, but that highlights why it must be handled more carefully.

The State Department must separate the good from the bad as they defend their decisions to terminate thousands of people from their employment. If they can't, it will backfire.

Trump already had to back off of stopping the money flow. He can't play games with this stuff. It will wear off very fast. He will lose credibility.

But if a country suffered thru a " color" revolution illegally found to be funded thru USAID ( or other illegally directed funding ) which was directly/actively supported by U.S. personnel, such that the harmed country can make a prosecutable case against said persons, then allowing that U.S. citizen to be extradited and prosecuted by the aggrieved country would make a hell of a statement and serve justice IMHO.

--- "In one of those ceaseless [CNN] panels ... Ashley Allison ... saying, “I got a law degree of master’s and two bachelor’s, probably more education than all y’all added up together..."

"I got a law degree of master's" isn't English. Three college degrees and she can't speak the basic English that we expect to hear from high school graduates. This one obviously got passing grades while she was sleeping in class.

(Don't laugh. There was one of those in the NYU Paralegal Classes that I attended, a six-month course, in 1995. She was left alone to dream her dreams as the Contracts class continued. Had she been white, she would have escorted to the front door and told not to return. Thirty years later: I like the odds on the prop that, this week, she lost her sticky-fingers job at USAID. Dial up FanDuel and see if it's listed.)

--- "Liberals are rallying around USAID after Trump froze its payments for three months. AP's propaganda machine spit out a story, 'Frozen USAID funding strands...' "

AP is on the USAID payroll.

AP is BRIBED by USAID.

Correction: Was/had been.

--- AP: "Liberals." They are not liberals. Liberals no longer exist. They unanimously ceased to exist on the day that Obama was elected in 2008, 16 years ago. Can we please STOP defining these common thieves and opportunists as "liberals"?

BBC: Paid (bribed) by USAID. And as correctly suspected:

New York Times: Paid (bribed) by USAID.

--- "Sadly, Substack polls are limited to 5 choices." Okay, then START with "One Million."

Did she SERIOUSLY think that Trump was going to let everything go on as normal, a repeat of his getting hamstrung by deep state bureaucrats in his first term?!

Poor Samantha. Washed up. Over the hill. Down and out. And a dead ringer for the equally morally emaciated Caroline Kennedy (whose son should be committed to an insane asylum). The political Bobbsey Twins.

Expand full comment
Jeremy R's avatar

As for the college tuition, you either get mommy and daddy to pay or you get a loan from the local bank if you can't earn the money yourself.

When I was a kid our local bank wanted your school record, a detailed plan for what you wanted to major in along with the class schedule. The bank VP often made recommendations for electives because they didn't want their money wasted. 100% agree with you, no more feral money AT ALL.

Universities and colleges in the US have endowments in the billions of dollars. That money, either promised in annual payments or given to the schools is invested and makes a return that goes back into the fund or endowment. It is run just like a business. The well-known and elite schools have billions invested and professors and administrators are some of the highest paid educators in the country. Explain to me why a college degree costs a student so much? Explain to me why they prefer accepting foreign students who play rack rate plus for tuition and reduce the number of US students they accept? Our kids are being and their families are being ripped off!

While I agree that feral control is bad, look at what too many loco school boards do. They magnify the federal lunacy. They also are super irresponsible with the money.

Close the schools. Give $5,000 vouchers to the parents and have a set of minimal standards based on the old Iowa basics test. The only changes allowed would be to current events sections of the test. Those to be determined by a panel with members selected, one each, by the majority and minority leaders of each chamber, and one by the president and one by the Chief Justice. While reflecting on the time it would take for Ashley to acquire all that education and the likely cost of those numerous degrees, I wondered what actual work experience she may have and how much of her tuition was covered by grants from USAID? Everyone should definitely read this! I have no idea if this scenario is what truly happened but if it is, how in the world did they keep it all secret for the last four years?

This is more than warm fuzzies, it’s nuclear glorious warm fuzzies.

Sure hope the Feds are paying to fix potholes o/s my home. Need to DOGE our City, County & State to see what they are doing with our property & fuel taxes instead of fixing potholes...

First thing, I called my oldest nephew. The initials are those of my sister's middle son, a retired police officer. The strong SILENT sort of P.O. Like the old Vaudeville comic who almost starved to death because he wouldn't tell anybody he was hungry.

Read that on Citizen Free Press yesterday. Talk about blindsiding everyone WOW!. Whiz kids just mapping the money flows. The years of planning this and now putting into action is just pure genius.

02/07/25: That is an awesome article. I was glad that I had the chance to read it, since the Committing Suicide By Being Boring NY Post would never in a million years publish it in their Op-Ed section.

*Don’t dish out what you cannot take.*

For more than 8 long years I’ve lived like little Ralphie in “A Christmas Story”, listening to the insane demands, whims, and threats of Scut Farkus-like psychos who represent the Democratic party without fighting back.

Well, liberal fanatics, I’m awake now, and so are all of the rest who have put Trump back in office. We don’t have to go out of our skulls and beat the snot out of you like Ralphie finally did to Farkus. Not literally, anyhow.

We’ve beaten you with common sense, intelligence, maturity, morality, justice, dignity, Donald John Trump and God Almighty.

America is back. We’re going to be bigger and better than ever before. What are you gonna do? Cry? C’mon cry for me!!

TGIF!

Once a month Nancy has me clean the house before our cleaning lady gets here. ????? My life… or lack thereof… She also says if you keep it clean in the first place you don’t have to worry about it later.

The Democrats should’ve thought about that while they were wrecking the country. Now they have to worry about Trump in a cleaning frenzy. I only have to worry about our cleaning lady.

Life is good when you’re a conservative. Hapless libs can keep whining.

Trump IS the cleaning laddie. They should have spent a few months doing the chores.

A free press is a noble goal, and Elon is accomplishing it not only with his wonderful X, but by truly freeing the AP, Reuters, the BBC, Politico, The New York Times, NPR, PBS, (and surely more to come!) from the chains of taxpayer’s $$. Now they can finally be free to tell the truth, no longer under the lash of the democratic overseers. Free at last! Or, maybe they’ll discover that they operate in a capitalist society, where their audiences will decide whether or not they want to read, view or hear their nonsense, and then they will go the way of other non-essential items. Most bird cages are now lined with gravel paper, so even that is no longer an option. And smart news digesters have discovered the internet in their quest for truth. It just gets better every day! More🍿, please!
