Guns? We need to control Democrats

Ex-president Obama went on CBS this morning to lobby once again for gun control. Totalitarians always want to disarm the populace. He cited school shootings. AP said school shootings from Columbine to today have resulted in 175 deaths.

Columbine was 24 years ago. That’s 7 a year.

Last weekend, thugs shot and killed 12 people in Chicago alone. Chicago has the strictest gun laws in the nation — and the most murders.

School shootings with rifles are not the problem. Drive-by gang shootings with handguns are.

Obama has ignored Chicago’s shooting sprees throughout the 20 years he has been in the public spotlight as a senator, president and now, thankfully, ex-president. Chicago’s murders matter to him as part of the statistics that he uses to justify the confiscation of firearms.

He told CBS, “I think somehow — and there are a lot of historical reasons for this — gun ownership in this country became an ideological issue, and a partisan issue, in ways that it shouldn't be. It has become sort of a proxy for arguments about our culture wars, you know? Urban versus rural. Race is always an element in these issues. Issues of class and education, and so forth.”

Ah, race.

Let’s talk about race.

The latest FBI statistics I could find are for 2019.

That year, 3,299 white people killed someone. Most of their victims are white.

2,906 black people killed someone. Most of their victims are black.

There are five times as many white people as there are black people in the USA.

By urban vs. rural, Obama means black vs. white. But it is really Democrat vs. Republican because the territory Democrats control are cities. The lawlessness of the cities — the daily murders — terrorize the populace and keep people at bay.

To divert attention from ignoring black-on-black crime, Democrats came up with Black Lives Matter, which capitalized on a few cases where a white person or law enforcement official killed a black man. In the cases of Freddie Gray and George Floyd, the deaths came while in police custody. The idea was to skew public perception and blame the thousands of murders of black people not on the black men who commit an overwhelming majority of the murders, but to blame whites and police.

(In the case of BLM officials, the purpose was also to raise millions to buy new houses and move out of dangerous black neighborhoods.)

Obama kicked off this evil by embracing Trayvon Martin, a black teenager who was beating George Zimmerman’s head bloody against the sidewalk until Zimmerman pulled a gun on his assailant and shot and killed him.

The president told the world, if he had a son he would look like Trayvon Martin — which signaled to thugs like Michael D. Brown that Obama had his back. Unfortunately for Mister Brown, he went too far and reached into a police car and tried to take the gun from an officer to shoot and kill him. Instead, the officer shot and killed him.

The justifiable homicide of Mister Brown nevertheless triggered riots that nearly destroyed Ferguson, Missouri, a quiet suburb where many black people fled to escape St. Louis and the violence of thugs like Mister Brown.

Obama stoked the fires by sending DOJ in to stick its nose in and declare the shooting a murder.

St. Louis subsequently elected a new prosecutor, Kim Gardner, whom the media hailed as the city’s first black woman prosecutor. She is resigning at the end of the month rather than face charges of neglect of duty.

She is part of a wave of incompetents elected as prosecutors using money from George Soros. The one in San Francisco was the son of two Weather Underground cop-killers. Bill Ayers raised him. The more-or-less adopted son did so poor a job that San Franciscans voted him out of office.

You have to really screw up to tick off a town that allows people to poop in the street in a state that looks the other way on shoplifting.

How bad is San Fran? Dave Chappelle long regarded the city by the bay as his second home. On Thursday, he gave a surprise performance there and eviscerated the town. He asked, “What the fuck happened to this place?”

He said, “Y’all need a Batman!”

The San Francisco Chronicle reported, “He told a story about eating at an Indian restaurant in the Tenderloin a few nights earlier, only to have someone defecate in front of the restaurant as he was walking in. San Francisco has become ‘half Glee, half zombie movie,’ he said, and he remarked that the whole city is the Tenderloin now.”

The newspaper was shocked — not by someone shitting in front of a restaurant but by Chappelle pointing it out. The newspaper blasted him for his “jokes about the city’s homelessness problems and transphobic dog whistles.”

San Francisco used to be the freak. Now it is the norm for Democrat-run cities. Bums and junkies camp out on the streets. They no longer are homeless. According to AOC, they are houseless.

She is upset because subway passengers subdued Jordan Neely after he threatened a woman. He later died.

Given that he just got out of jail for sucker-punching a 67-year-old woman, the threat was real.

Arguing facts with a liberal is like trying to reason with a 2-year-old throwing a tantrum. Unfortunately, you cannot just wait until liberals tire themselves out. Manhattan prosecutor Alvin Bragg charged with manslaughter the Marine hero who subdued Neely. Conservatives donated 2 million bucks to the Marine’s legal defense fund.

The problem is not the guns. The problem is the lawlessness Obama and the rest of his party promote.

To paraphrase Obama, the debate on guns is over. The science is settled. Gun ownership is guaranteed by the Constitution. Private gun ownership was not a problem until the 1960s, when Democrats began taking over city after city after city.

Private gun ownership still is not the problem. Democrats are.
