"Republicans must carefully gather evidence of the bribery and build an invincible case for prosecution, not impeachment."

It is a damn shame our House has to do someone else's job and waste their time researching and building an obvious case of bribery and treason. That is NOT why we sent them to DC. The FBI and DOJ already know the facts and do nothing. Their inaction is harboring criminals. Prosecute instead of impeach, for sure, but after this is over, hopefully we'll be closer to placing Trump in the WH to take care of the corrupt Wray and Garland. Biden is just a cheap crook who is in it for the money. Wray and Garland represent the deep state.

DARVO (an acronym for "deny, attack, and reverse victim and offender") is a reaction that perpetrators of wrongdoing, such as sexual offenders may display in response to being held accountable for their behavior.[1] Some researchers indicate that it is a common manipulation strategy of psychological abusers.

Comer has been brilliant. The steady drip, drip, drip has been wildly effective.

Half of the poeople reading this blog agree with you about Comer.

The other half think he is a joke: the Ralkin camp?

Expand full comment

I think half of the people are torn between two camps. Half think the GOP are stupid and part of the uniparty scam and so immediately, assume either deliberately or otherwise they screwed it up.

The other half thinks we should slam heads into the wall like the dems do to us, forgetting that we are not afforded the same cover by the media that the dems are, and therefore we cannot cave to our basest desires.

Both feelings are completely understandable and defensible. And there is no proof Comer won't just bail at the end and justify their fears. However, he has managed to keep this info alive and out there - forcing the mainstream media to use words like unproven, and allegations, etc. And those headlines are starting to fall apart, just by the sheer number of times he's forced the MSM to have to utter them. People are beginning to understand that there is a LOT of money flowing into Biden's pockets under suspicious circumstances. It's part of his polling trouble, to the extent you believe any polling.

The spirit of the Tea Party smiles. Trent Lott's solution was mostly successful, but not permanent. That is what Trump recognized. That is what he means when he says "They are not after me. They are after you. I'm just in their way."

That's true and Donald Trump was very active in the New York State Tea Party at that time.

It was the Tea Party patriots who found Donald Trump and wanted him to lead, not the other way around.

Expand full comment

Yes absolutely, the Tea Party hasn't gone anywhere, it is the backbone of MAGA now.

I have always been surprised when I hear the statement "the Tea Party was destroyed". Huh? No it wasn't.

The original Tea Party was an awakening; the first blow before the Revolutionary War. So was the modern day Tea Party. It was a super-strong genuine organic grassroots uprising more than it ever was an "organization".

Some organizations arose to give it some structure (and tried to claim that they "led" the Tea Party) and those organizations are still here today and serve a useful purpose. The Tea Party Patriots ("TPP"--you can visit their website) was one strong component of the recent enormous phone campaign to D.C. to get Kevin McCarthy OUT as Speaker--there were news articles with Jenny Beth Martin (the original and current head of TPP) about that campaign. But we are not dependent on those organizations, because we are already awake now and huge numbers of Americans participated in phoning DC about the Speaker race, including myself, who contacted about 30 Reps altogether, and I hadn't even heard of the Tea Party Patriots call for phone-ins. Another excellent organization still active is Freedomworks (you can visit their website too).

The Tea Party itself never had a real leader --it was a movement. That movement eventually found a leader in Donald Trump. Every person I knew who was in the Tea Party is now an enthusiastic MAGA participant.

And most importantly, the grassroots Tea Party folks started running for office, and that's why you have had such a strengthening of Republican control of the state legislatures all over the country in the past decade or so. They have been working their way up the ladder and gaining seniority. They have partially infiltrated the Republican Party apparatus and need to take the Revolution the rest of the way and eliminate the now cowering RINO's.

I fondly remember attending my first Tea Party Rally at our state capitol in 2008. I carried my homemade poster that said "ACORN":

"A--American

C--Communist

O-->

Organizing

R-->

N--Network"!

I'm happy to say ACORN is now long-defunct. They were involved with some illegal campaigning activity, and if I recall, pretty much closed themselves down. Of course as we know, it just took another form.

Meanwhile can anyone recall the last time Congress did anything to solve a single problem for the American people?

The last time Congress passed a budget was 2007.

Imagine where you would be if you tried that at your home.

Oh and yes, they passed a defense authorization bill for $886 billion, which gave a 4 month extension to the FISA system which allows the government to spy on all of us 24/7 illegally, because of course when the government wants to spy it comes up with a reason to get a FISA judge to sign off on it, even if they have to commit a crime to get the sign off.

"House Republicans should unite and help Donald Trump indict."

Yes, they should - but given congressional Republicans' propensity for making the Keystone Cops look like Scotland Yard-caliber detectives, I'm not holding out much hope.

My hunch is that they make it unavailable to the administration on the grounds of fair play or some other rationale that is really just fear of Democrats masquerading as principle.

"Republicans must carefully gather evidence of the bribery and build an invincible case for prosecution, not impeachment."

...and that's where it will all go south for the Republicans in the HoR - they'll claim the evidence gathered was for impeachment, and therefore cannot be used for prosecutorial purposes.

That likely isn't true, but that won't prevent them from using it as an excuse - if Biden's lawyers can get it front of an Obama-appointed federal judge, the whole case will just be dismissed.

For that reason, the Trump team needs to be thinking several steps ahead because the courts are no longer neutral - they are every bit as political as is the legislative branch.

There needs to be a way to replace sitting federal judges with true jurists.

Wilhelm could confess to *giving* state secrets to communist China, and the senate would never convict him.

"I am wondering who the media believes it is kidding."

You and I both know the propaganda apparatus is fooling no one (they know it, too), but they don't have to - they just have to keep repeating the lie.

"All I see him doing is giving Ukraine money we don’t have so it can kickback some of it to Hunter who will give 10% to his dad."

Well, that's it - the Biden crime family are the Americans whose lives would be better if additional funding for Ukraine were approved by the House.

"...Hunter...announced at a press conference that he will not respect a subpoena, an act of defiance that would get a Republican jailed."

See Steve Bannon.

"For some reason, her words upset the state’s billionaire governor and the rest of the Democrat Establishment."

The Porcelain Prince doesn't like being called out - look for Haley to be removed at the behest of a white, privileged billionaire who's never worked a day in his life.

I fully agree with you Don, in a perfect world I would feel the same. But this is not a perfect world. Joe Biden will never stand trial for his crimes. He will never be impeached either. We are all so frustrated with our elected officials today it’s a wonder we don’t all go mad. The GOP would need almost 100% of the members of the house to impeach. The problem is the Senate. For the next year the Dems hold control so no impeachment. Joe walks out of office a one term crook. So then it would be up to the new presidents AG to prosecute him. Upon leaving office Joe has one thing going for him, his age and senility. No AG would be willing to start a multi-year investigation and trial with Gramps knowing no judge is going to lock up a senile geezer. Not going to happen. So as long as Gramps can remain in office he has the deep state and his attorneys to defend him with a firewall. Out of office, Gramps would have to hire his own attorneys to defend him. But the bigger issue here is the rest of the administration and deep state players who are also culpable because they have as much or more to lose than Joe Biden does.

Expand full comment

Darn, I pushed send before I was done. Anyway, no amount of frustration on the publics part is going to change the outcome. Joe walks. A new AG, even one who has a dig “S” on his chest is going to be flooded with issues and that means he wont waste time on old Joe. The best we could hope for is a Special Counsel to investigate it and waste money for years. The GOP knows this and the investigation is all about hurting Joes approval rating to keep him from a second term. As the corrupt CIA agent in Shooter said, “ We (Joe) win, you (the GOP) lose”.

Expand full comment

But's that still a valid achievement--to expose things and hurt Joe's approval--every component of our offense serves a purpose and weakens the enemy. Let's see Joe's approval ratings get into the 20's (although it may be there already and polls are being doctored). Approval in the 20's or even the teens means ballot fraud has to be phenomenal.

This all works together, we shouldn't leave any weapon unused. Hammer on them, hammer on them, hammer on them with every tool we have. Impeachment hearings can serve their purpose.

Expand full comment

You make a valid point. But I was just trying to be honest and point out that if we want to punish Joe Biden in some way, it isn't going to happen. We should learn from this and move on to fix things because that is what wins elections. In that regard, I have to say that GOP and winning don't seem to work well together. The GOP is the worst messaging and marketing organization ever! They are horrible at it. Look at all the things going on. It is a PR dream for us yet what do you hear from the RNC? Nothing. Even our talking points suck. This has to change or we are done as a party.

Expand full comment

Yes, the RINO's have squandered 98% of the good opportunities for PR communications. I think we can train more of the non-RINO's, though, with our money-- every time someone goes public like Elise Stephanik did with the 3 university presidents, millions of us should send them $5. They will quickly learn--like a lab rat--to press the right lever and speak up.

Expand full comment

Ha!

Expand full comment

Human life reduced to the lowest denominator. I like it :) But this is always the trap. We reward positive behavior and then ................... nothing. Stephanik did a very good thing here, but what actually changed as a result of it? Yes, the PA president quit. But did anything change fundamentally at any of the colleges? I certainly get the long game here but it needs to start showing some tangible results in our lifetime. Everytime one of the GOP stars does something worthwhile, the very same day or the day after I get a bunch of emails from them begging for money. Everytime. It doesn't work anymore because I have been burned too many time. When I see things actually changing I will reward those responsible accordingly. I am far from alone in that mindset as well. People are sick and tired of the talk with no follow-up action and results. I haven't given a dollar to one single politician this year. And I will continue to withhold support until I see positive results happening. Until I see results, this is all just a game or a scam, depending on your level of frustration. I don't know what the GOP's problem is with accomplishment and winning but they better get over it real soon.

Expand full comment

Yeah, but I think it's the RNC sending those email solicitations the day after somebody speaks up good. The candidate might (have been pressured to) endorse the solicitation, but the solicitation was generated by the RNC and any $$ you give in direct reply to it will go to the RNC. The best way to DIRECTLY reward the good Republican who speaks up is at their own individual campaign website, which (should) bypass the RNC.

And Stephanik's action HAS changed things-- her and the handful of big donors who have withheld $$ have been two of the strongest and most direct blows to the University-racket in a long time. You know more blows will now be coming from the Right, and Academia's cage has been rattled at last.
