Argentina WAS great, once upon a time, before Peron and hordes of communists took the place down. A hundred years ago, Argentina was the most prosperous nation in South America, and they still have abundant natural resources.

And they can be great, and prosperous, again.

Agree. Then the socialists took over. Just like FDR did for the US about a decade or so later in the US. But the election is still a good sign for them. I hope it works.

I like Milei and love his hair! People voted for him, including young people, because he says he wants to turn Argentina around and make it great again. Why not? It's a basket case and inflation was at 143%. The problem is whether Argentina has a "deep state." Or, will the international "deep state" let him go ahead with his agenda? Will Milei be allowed to enact his reforms? That is the question. Voters are sadly finding out that after they vote for whoever represents what they want, nothing or little gets done. Funny that! An excellent example is Boris Johnson, who I now consider a wanker. In Canada, will the Conservatives who will likely replace Justin's Liberals give us what we want when that finally happens? That's always the question. Voters' concerns take last place. This is happening all over the western world as the ruling class will not support our concerns. So we'll see about Milei. However, the party in Argentina looked damn fun. Let's see what the hangover brings.

"An excellent example is Boris Johnson, who I now consider a wanker."

He used to be a bit smarter. But he didn't want to shut down the economy for covid. So he suddenly got rushed off to hospital for intensive care with... covid.

Do you remember - its never mentioned now?

Two weeks later he came back a changed man. He knew how close he came to dying from.... covid. He knew he - no one - has any choice. So he followed the covid agenda and destroyed the UK economy. But him having parties at #10 shows us he knew it was all a rich man's trick.

Unfortunately, I had high hopes for him. Yup, he is a wanker.

[FYI 11/21/23]

I was Boris Johnson’s boss: he is utterly unfit to be prime minister

Max Hastings (also a wanker! Guardian June 24, 2019)

The Tory party is about to foist a tasteless joke upon the British people. He cares for nothing but his own fame and gratification...

Yet the Tories, in their terror, have elevated a cavorting charlatan to the steps of Downing Street, and they should expect to pay a full forfeit when voters get the message.

***

Either Delingpole or Hastings (12/29/20):

A few admirers assert that, in office, Johnson will reveal an accession of wisdom and responsibility that have hitherto eluded him, not least as foreign secretary. This seems unlikely...

Dignity still matters in public office, and Johnson will never have it. Yet his graver vice is cowardice, reflected in a willingness to tell any audience, whatever he thinks most likely to please, heedless of the inevitability of its contradiction an hour later.

Like many showy personalities, he is of weak character. I recently suggested to a radio audience that he supposes himself to be Winston Churchill, while in reality being closer to Alan Partridge.

[Alan Partridge was a comedy character portrayed by actor Steve Coogan. A parody of British TV personalities, Partridge is an inept broadcaster ... inflated sense of celebrity drives him to treachery and shameless self-promotion... Created in 1991 by Coogan and ... Armando Iannucci for BBC's comedy programme On The Hour (Wikipedia "Ian Partridge" 01/27/22.]

[End all.]

Mr. Surber writes: "Journalists keep using that word democracy, but I don’t think they know what it means." That right there is world-class understatement. Well done, Mr. Surber.

This column is a very good analysis of what has gone wrong in Argentine, and what could go wrong in the future. I love Argentine, and Chile too. What a shame that they have both been periodically screwed over by socialists. Same could be said about the USA.

I am so damn sick of the word "democracy." I don't even know what it means anymore because I don't think I see much of it. What I do see is people using this word for their own means and it shows me they are authoritarians. If I can quote Cartman from South Park: You will respect muh ( he says it that way and gives authority kind of a French pronunciation) authority. That's what democracy means now.

When the left uses the word “democracy”, it is code for “democrat party power”. They all know full well that we are not a democracy, but they also know that no one under the age of 40 knows that and they can use that word as a cudgel to scare the useful idiots.

When the globalists say "anger won over fear," they fear that anger. Think about the adjectives used on Milei: radical, libertarian, admirer of Donald Trump, far right economist, former television pundit, no political experience. These are qualities they dislike intensely. For conservatives, these are all pluses.

Naturally the globalists fear the people's anger. They know they caused the anger, but can't figure out why the people are angry with them. They are completely convinced that as the elite, they know best what people want and need. And then there is the fact that they don't really care what people think. They intend to get their way no matter what anyone thinks.

Some of the globalists fear their reign of terror will eventually come to an ignoble end. Others intend to make sure that doesn't happen. Elections like the one in Argentina make some of the globalists nervous that maybe they don't really know everything after all. But instead of considering that for more than a millisecond, they begin the demonization of all the people that are attempting to engineer their defeat. They must be "anti-democratic." Or they must be "radical right wing extremists," which is code for Nazi.

I came across a video of a young man named Nicholas Ferreira, a rising political star in Brazil, who gave a speech at the UN that was inspiring:

Yes, we are. They have a eugenics plan. The gene therapy poison shot was an attempt at world depopulation, and it is working. See Kathryn Watt's substack (bailiwicknews.substack.com and Dr. Peter McCullough at Courageous Discourse substack. Ed Dowd also wrote a book: Cause Unknown, about the statistical analysis of the huge increase in all cause mortality since the vaccine rollout not just in the US but also in the UK and around the Western world. The poison was rolled out as a "vaccine" with little to no safety testing, (it was not technically a pharmaceutical product, it was a "medical countermeasure") so no regulation by FDA. FDA gave "emergency use authorization" only because they knew that if people knew that it had not been tested, few would want to take it. But the FDA did not examine the contents of the vials and did not do any studies for safety. The people like Bill Gates who are behind a lot of this are planning on more "pandemics" to come, with more "vaccines," aka biochemical weapons. The US government still is conducting gain of function research here in the US and around the world. This is very dangerous research and should be stopped. It contravenes the biochemical weapons conventions which are international agreements to which the US is signatory.

The hope we feel right now, for Argentina is the same hope we feel for our country that Mr. Trump may actually win. Reality is, the one bullet the CIA was saving for RFK Junior, will now be used in Argentina. That is because the CIA has already programmed the win in for Biden et al. Until the American people resist whether it is not delivering food or goods, or serving their masters, they will still be slaves to the deep state.

Argentina was never great. It had a lot of potential, but squandered it, like we are doing.

Argentina’s political class has oscillated between leftist Peronista crooks and right wing military crooks. Both groups are killers. No not a figurative expression. It repeatedly defaults as noted, but suckers keep lining up to lend it money. The people are good looking, intelligent, well educated and lazy AF. The secret police and intelligence agencies are dangerous right wing weirdos who disappeared thousands of students in the 70’s - 80’s for the ruling junta.

They also helped islamofascists bomb the Israeli embassy and Jewish community center in the early 90’s killing hundreds of people. A lot of Nazis hid in Argentina after WW2.

All that wonderfulness🙄 aside, Millei is very intelligent, right on the money from a policy perspective and is a libertarian not a death squad guy. He hates the commies and the wasteful government. He’s a big personality and he has no filter like someone the we all know. Hopefully his ideas will work out. The country can’t do any worse than it is doing. It’s a mess.

He can cure inflation by not printing money, reducing economic control and reducing graft. It could happen quickly if he isn’t impeded by the administrative state.

Good morning, all.

LuAnn says it precisely: "democracy" in the mouth of a lefty means "The gimmedats and I have decided that YOU will give us everything you work for. We MIGHT give you a little back."

Here's my take on it, to paraphrase: "Democracy is two coyotes and a sheep voting on what's for lunch; in a Republic, that sheep is a sheep dog."

I have seen what sheep dogs can do to those that threaten the flock.

We can bitch and moan all we like about the sheep, but they'll keep on sheepin'. Some sheep can get pretty ornery, too; they can head-butt with the best! It only takes getting them angry enough.

I urge you to remember, that it only takes a small, LOUD group of people to foment change. Add some righteous anger into the mix... Eve hit it on the head there, too.

It was only after adding some muscle and height, early in my high school freshman year, that I realized another important point: the troublemakers get nervous when they realize they have been spotted and called out. Something I got good at when I didn't worry about an ass-beating anymore. Oddly enough, the ass-beatings dropped to zero once the troublemakers saw that I could, and WOULD fight back. I was on my way to being a sheep dog.

I only fear this: that when our "betters" realize that things are getting out of their control, they will flail about so foolishly in their attempts to regain their grip on us, that it - our country, our society - will suffer an ordeal the likes of which only those in the Balkan conflicts have seen. One which will catch up the innocent as well as the rest.

That's when the sheep dogs will be needed most.

Lots of prayers, too.

Democracy to liberals means “equal outcomes”. Equal outcomes means establishment of only two economic classes; the poor majority and the very rich - that is the REALITY of “ from each according to their ability, to each according to need”.. We know where THAT cones from! Democrats in The District of Corruption - funded by the concentrated weakth among the top 1% - add to that , a smug unspoken coda: “ promise them anything but give them Okay because there is a sucker born every minute.” democrats are recognized as the Chicken Littles of our politick.
