The Montana Free Press reported, “A seven-member commission voted on Tuesday to immediately withdraw the Montana State Library from membership in the American Library Association, a national nonprofit founded in 1876 that advocates for and provides services to tens of thousands of libraries across the country.
“The Montana State Library Commission’s decision came in response to a 2022 tweet posted by current ALA President Emily Drabinski describing herself as a ‘Marxist Lesbian,’ which quickly drew the attention of conservative media outlets nationwide. In his motion to ‘immediately withdraw’ the state library from the association, commissioner Tom Burnett directed that a letter be sent to the ALA explaining that ‘our oath of office and resulting duty to the Constitution forbids association with an organization led by a Marxist.’
“Burnett was joined by five other members of the commission in supporting the motion, among them state Superintendent Elsie Arntzen. Newly seated commissioner Brian Rossmann, who works as an associate professor at the Montana State University Library, cast the sole opposing vote. Commission Chair Peggy Taylor abstained.”
Expect Mister Rossmann to get the lion’s share of the national media attention to when this story breaks nationally.
Emily Drabinski is the perfect fit for the presidency of the American Library Association because the organization has been at the forefront of LGBT Marxism. It promoted Gender Queer, a pornographic book that teacher groomers use to promote homosexuality. Its graphic depictions of underage sex should land its author/illustrator and its publisher in prison. Instead, they are praised by a media that is out of touch with reality.
The ALA’s promotion of drag queen story hours — a program to groom kids for the LGBT movement — should have led to a backlash by the states long ago. But there is hope this summer because Montana’s withdrawal from the ALA may spark withdrawals by other states.
This move is reminiscent of states dropping out of the National School Boards Association, which was created in 1940 to lobby for federal funding of local schools.
In June 2021, a Virginia school board had a parent arrested for trespassing when he complained about a tranny raping his daughter in a girls bathroom and the school superintendent covering the rape up. Parents elsewhere began challenging school boards over tranny rights and critical race theory. The NSBA demanded that AG Merrick Garland label protesting parents as domestic terrorists — and to use the Patriot Act against them, as if they were going to hijack airliners.
States fought back.
WHYY reported on October 15, 2021, “The governing board of the Pennsylvania School Boards Association has voted unanimously to withdraw from its national counterpart, after the larger group requested federal help to address increasing harassment and threats of violence against school board members.
“‘Attempting to solve the problems with a call for federal intervention is not the place to begin, nor a model for promoting greater civility and respect for the democratic process,’ PSBA wrote in a statement to its members.”
Within months, 29 state school boards either distanced themselves from the national group or dropped out, taking with them $1 million a year in dues.
Good for them for finally fighting back.
While Americans slept — while we blindly trusted our institutions — Marxists took over. Hollywood and the rest of the media capitulated early. Rush Limbaugh began and led a counter-attack on AM radio, which the left had abandoned. He was able to carry the torch for 30 years.
The American Psychiatric Association was an early proponent of the LGBT movement.
The American Medical Association was another early victory for Marxists, mainly due to the association’s desire to collect government checks through free health care. (Boy are they in for a surprise should that ever happen.)
The American Bar Association became a reliable opponent of conservative judicial appointees, until Republicans just ignored its recommendations. It barely rated Clarence Thomas qualified but now that the ABA is irrelevant, it just rubber stamps justice nominations as well qualified because no one cares.
Relevancy is the key. The press worships the ABA, AMA, ALA and the rest of the A (blank) A’s. The press considers them the experts in their fields. The NRA — which actually knows guns — is dismissed as a lobbyist that the press ignores, which explains why the press inevitably gets basic facts wrong about guns.
Kudos to the Dayton Daily News which in 2019 answered the question, “What is an assault weapon?”
The newspaper said, “Technically, there is no such thing. What’s called an assault weapon (or sometimes an assault rifle) in reports on gun violence is a semi-automatic rifle that looks similar to the assault rifles used by the military. An AR-15 rifle, like one that has been used in some mass shootings, is an example of this type of weapon.”
By the way, the American Revolution was won with muskets and long rifles. And Congress from 1792 to 1903 required men to own a musket or a rifle and join a militia.
June became the Pride Month from hell for LGBT because trannies went after the kids. You never do that. Drag queens twerking their groins in the faces of children became the symbol of the gay parades. Target displayed in children’s wear items designed by a T-girl fashion designer whose most famous work is a T-shirt that reads “Satan Respects Pronouns.” Disney lost nearly a billion dollars on four woke movies.
Then there is Bud Light. Nick Arama reported that Costco won’t be restocking it once the chain of stores unloads what it has.
NBC reported, “‘Nobody imagined it would go on this long:’ Bud Light sales continue to plummet over Mulvaney backlash.”
I said it when I saw the Dylan Mulvaney pictures. And I said it could bring down the company’s whole line of beers. It looks like it is.
This is not a boycott, which implies the company can win the business back. No, the beer drinkers whom Garth Brooks calls assholes are gone. They will not be back.
The press also gets censorship wrong. Moving an adult book from the children’s section to the adult section is not a ban. It is what responsible adults did when I was young.
USA Today reported in April, “It's not your imagination, and it's not fearmongering: Books, and our free and ready access to them, are under attack in the U.S.
“The American Library Association has the data to prove it.
“The library association on Monday released its list of the 13 most challenged books of 2022, the titles that have been the biggest targets of banning efforts in schools and public libraries. The last few years have seen a dramatic uptick in book-banning attempts, an escalation of censorship tactics, and the coordinated harassment of teachers and librarians as political groups and parent associations target works of literature containing what they deem to be objectionable material for young readers.”
Challenged. Not censored. Not banned. It was just someone complaining that maybe you ought not show children a book that includes drawings of a 10-year-old boy giving blowjobs. That is what is in Gender Queer.
The real threat to freedom is in banning citizens from protesting. When you arrest a man who complained about his daughter being raped in a school bathroom, you have gone to the dark side.
The ALA went to the dark side long ago with its drag queen story hours and its promotion of Gender Queer. The Montana State Library commission finally struck back on Tuesday. I hope that other states will follow Montana’s lead.
"What should be done about drag queen story hours?"
Don't send your children. Don't let children near them. Ignore the queens.
“The real threat to freedom is in banning citizens from protesting” Which lies at the heart of the J6 Fedsurrection.
