09/19/24: A man before his time. Imagine him seeing what he saw and couldn't stop the oncoming Wave of Woke in his own lifetime. As for the poll, may I recommend the banning of double negatives? An insidious English literature/journo habit that MUST be stopped. And in other news, the Jets tonight (vs the Pats) run the grave risk of losing the game at the very end of it.

Expand full comment
founding

09/22/24: So much for the Jets "risk" --- they easily won, 24-3. The game was over in the 1st Quarter when a lunkhead "Patriot" incurred a completely unnecessary personal foul penalty that gifted the Jets with a TD. Junior high school stuff.

A double negative is not a grammatical mistake; common sense merely warns us not to engage in it because of the unnecessary confusion that often results from creating it.

My answer to "do you have a team" may dismay you, but I must be candid.

I'm a gambler (small-time) and the only teams I root for are the ones I back.

Judge, Rizzo (Yankees) Ohtani (Dodgers) and other decent athletes / human beings have appeared for me too late in my life.

They were preceded by decades of unindicted jerks and thugs, plus outright later-convicted criminals, in various sports that gradually destroyed my illusions created by 1960s hero-worship of Mantle/Maris, etc.

The NFL jackasses kneeling during the playing of the national anthem was absolutely the last straw.

Correct. Part of the problem though in terms of international friends, is separating countries value system from other things such as economics, politics, etc. Currently, the US policy is as it has been since the cold war, to buy our friends and allies via aid. We are essentially deciding which countries win and which ones lose. Trump tried to show the country that dialog was possible between with NoKo and Russia because he understands that those countries desperately need our friendship on an economic level. The US government, at least part of it, needs a boogey man so they can launder billions of dollars thru to their economic interests such as the military industrial complex, and the DC teat sucker companies that live off US tax dollars.

You’re hiring a person to do a job. It’s a tough, complicated, dangerous job. It has myriad demanding requirements and is subject to constant often unfair criticism from all sides.

Who has earned this job of the candidates running? Who hasn’t?

Perfect is never on the table, since the Garden of Eden. You play the hand you’re dealt. Trump is a character. Some find him disagreeable. Trump is not gonna win any prizes for being diplomatic. But he gets real diplomacy done. He talks it and then he walks it. He dares you not to think he knows anything, but then it turns out he knows everything. He is smarter than he behaves sometimes. But he’s not violent, or unfair. He gets stuff done and most of it, with the exception of the COVID debacle that he got duped on, has been good for the country.

Trump is Israel. Washington is Hamas and Hezbollah. The media treats Trump like they treat Israel. Like they treat YOU. He can do nothing right. When he gets shot at it’s his fault. He is a danger to their regime. Like YOU are.

The Never Trumpers are prostitutes and parasites. They aren’t fooling anybody in 2024.

Who cares what they think? Washington is ruining the country and the free world. For what? Money? Power? These people have too much of both already. Never Trumpers suffer from TDS. TDS is in reality a mental disorder where a person’s personal animus for Trump has totally clouded their perception of reality. Another term that can serve as a substitute for TDS is Trumpophobia. A phobia is an irrational fear of something. Unlike the rationality of Islamophobia Trumpophobia is a destructive force in this country foisted upon us by the MSM and their masters in the Marxist/Democrat/Hate America Party with whom the Never Trumpers have joined.

And that too, is a result of the capture of the entire US education system, which has turned our schools into nothing more than indoctrination camps.

Education needs to first be returned to state and loca governments, and the entire curriculum restored to the Three “R’s” and actual American and World history and civics.

(I’ll throw in Ettiquette classes too, since our kids need to get back to learning some civility towards one another. )

Expand full comment

Education needs to be returned to the parents. They should be able to choose what their children are taught. Since most people can't or won't homeschool, allowing them control of the portion of public money equal to the size of their family and allowing them to choose between the many options such as Christian and Catholic or Jewish School via a voucher would be a step in the right direction.

Expand full comment

Agreed. And that can only happen when government is kicked out of Education, and the people of each state are allowed to form their own educational choice systems.

The Never Trumpers use their personal attacks at Trump to cover that which they truly fear he represents: an end to the facade of their decades of lying, deceiving and grifting off the backs of Americans, keeping them chained to the whims of government.

The proof of that was laid bare during Trump’s short 3.5 year administration. He managed to accomplish, in that incredibly short period, what they had been promising forever but never delivered: energy independence, an economic boom, peace through strength, strong borders, and returning more power back to the states. He lifted EVERY boat.

Their attempts to ruin, even kill him have only hardened his conviction to do even more and more thoroughly and completely than ever before.

Their personal attacks on him are a smokescreen. They hate him, yes. But They fear him even more.
