Reuters reported, “U.S. Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo said U.S. companies have complained to her that [Red] China has become ‘uninvestable,’ pointing to fines, raids and other actions that have made it risky to do business in the world's second-largest economy.
Sorry to do this to you so early on a Holiday (For most of us). China has THE largest oil reserves in the world. The last time they tried to float the 'petro-dollar' was in the 90's when oilman George HW Bush president and as far as I could see, that was the ONLY conservative thing they did in their otherwise liberal 12 years they were in office. China as we speak are trying to do it again but they lack the refinery space that The United States has. You'd think the Biden regime would pounce, but NOT Joe Biden as every single person in his regime is corrupt to the core and hell-bent on destroying our country. FOR THE GOOD OF THE FREE WORLD, GET BIDEN/HARRIS OFF THE WORLD STAGE.
Yes, for sure, but Biden-Harris were selected and placed to be constant distractions. I want to get the puppet masters behind the Whitehouse puppets. Who is pulling the strings and writing the strategy? That's our enemy.
I really wish you would expand on this theme. I am just not good at intuiting peoples' meaning. As in "the last time they. . ." Who is 'they'? The Chinese, or GHWB? Who had 12 years in office when GHWB was president? "China . . . is trying to do it again. . . Trying to float the petrodollar? Trying to start up refineries?
I wish I could follow your drift. I do understand "GET BIDEN/HARRIS OFF THE WORLD STAGE." I agree with that. Actually, I'd refine that just a little: 'get Biden in jail, where he belongs.'
Um... no - just stop with that. They import 80% of their energy requirements. 80%. They aren't in the top 10%. It's almost all middle east, Russia, and Canada/US.
Oil production has the US and the Saudi's routinely trading places as the world leader. Russia is number 3, and somewhat impacted by the war sanctions, though their production is still pretty robust. The US produces 2 1/2 or more times the amount of oil than China, and does so more cheaply and efficiently. Fracking has increased our known reserves every year. We also use our energy more efficiently than anyone else, producing more GDP per energy use of anyone.
The last time China tried to float the Yuan as a dollar substitute, domestic capital fled the country. They stopped. Right now, foreign investment is drying up. And as a part of the GDP calculation, which includes investment, China is losing GDP (which was always exaggerated by estimates as high as 30%). China is doing a Yuan oil deal with the Saudis, Brazil was kicking the tires but really doesn't trade much with China. China has paid a lot of money to the Bidens. They should know better. Their return on investment has been very poor. The dems use you, then throw you aside. Xi should have known better, as that is standard operating procedure for commies.
Tony, that's the game they are playing with us. It is called distraction so they can keep pulling the puppet strings.
They (and others like Mayorkas, Buttplug, raimondo), are placed as totally incompetent buffoons - even over acting the role sometimes - to keep us gabbing about it everywhere. Biden is an idiot who has dementia and is losing his ability to walk. How many more news stories do we really need to talk about this known fact? The current regime is a bunch of zombie puppets who are placed so the real decision makers can hide and stay out of site. We need to stop focusing on the well-placed distractions and ask ourselves where is the heart of this evil originating? I say forget chasing the symptoms and get to the root cause. Trump is a ROOT CAUSE guy.
That is where I would pit the defanged EPA, defanged Energy, Education and Transportation departments and other defanged bureaucracies. I would make them so small they may as well not exist
Let the states handle those duties as they see fit.
The department of education ( like many others) exists to hand out federal funds to school districts. They say they are trying to bring the poor ones up -- they’re actually trying to foist socialism on all districts. How many districts are going to turn down free money though? It’s an insidious arrangement. I’d like to see them dissolved and the money they distribute to states not collected at all. How revolutionary is that thought? And after that, commit to closing another executive department every year until we’re back to a few essential ones: State, Treasury, War, Interior, Justice, and that’s about it. White House and Congressional staff limited to 25 per office. Pentagon limited to a total of 1000 stars (and stripe equivalent in the sea services) over all the services. (Lots of functions currently handled by one and two stars could be handled as well by colonels.)
Next would be to move executive departments out of the District in Columbia. treasury to Philly, War Next Door to the Alamo, State to New York, Interior to Missoula, Justice to San Francisco.
Then we’d see how lean and mean would work. Bring it on!
Now look, really, she had 25 years of experience running Providence RI into the ground. Now if that doesn't qualify her as an ace three-card-monte dealer at the Commerce Department, really, what would? (Sarcasm-azm.)
While Clinton and the Bush family did increase and accelerate business with the Red Chinese, it was actually Richard Nixon and Henry Kissinger that opened that door.
Opening the door is one thing, widening the frame and making it a doorless through-way is something else.
Despite it being a tactic in the cold war to force the USSR to open a front on the borders of its southern republics, we are now seeing the law of unintended consequences made manifest.
“But that is not how we brought down the Soviet Union. We did not open our markets to the USSR. We were very careful in what little trade we had with those communists.”
…Or Cuba, or any other Soviet satellite country.
THIS fact proves the lie in sharp relief of that deceptive policy right out of the gate.
It was Big business who pushed to move manufacturing to China to lower their costs and overhead and produce “on the cheap”, while destroying the manufacturing base and economic engine running this country. The very same people who’ve allowed our borders to be wide open to droves of illegals who’ll work for peanuts.
They don’t love, or even care about this country, only money.
We see the destruction, devastation and danger their greed has brought ypon us.
Then, when things starting went south, instead of facing reality, the CCP hemmed and hawed and issued denials and dawdled and meandered and ---
--- sweep sweep sweep under rug rung
--- buy Build Back Better bigger rug
--- sweep sweep sweep more more more under rug
--- rug full
--- sorry boss no big enough rug exists
--- no boss you cannot hide under this rug, all your bosses are already under it

You are absolutely right! I watched it happen in manufacturing. They chased shareholder value for the sake of their own bonus plans - and IPO opportunities. America lost its backbone of strength in the process.
"Drag a few thousand bucks through Congress and you have a majority, but the bureaucrats are a better buy because they never have to report to anyone — especially (ugh) voters."
To me, this is the most challenging issue. Trump faces resistance in Congress even from some Freedom Caucus members who dip deeply into China-Tech pockets for money. Likewise, the corporate leaders who have off-shored their operations don't want Trump's aggressive America-First policies. No matter where these companies go when they leave China, most won't come home. They will go to another low wage country - a BRICS nation. Rich men north of Richmond sold our country to China.
This thread is interesting. One of the most annoying aspects of witnessing the fall of civilization, is trying to fill in my fantasy league scorecard. Obviously, Trump is a given, but beyond that it gets dicey; aka the Freedom Caucus. Ideology & reality rarely lead to the same destination . I remember when Trump was trying to pass his tax legislation & Massie would not get on board for ‘ideological’ reasons, I did not have enough information to made a decision as to who/what was right, other than it put money in my pocket. Ditto Mark Meadow. I thought he was a good choice for COS, but not so sure now. Frankly, this is the main reason why I am in in for Trump. I am not saying he doesn’t have a personal agenda or faults, but you know he has an end game aka Patton. They criticized Blood & Guts for his lack of empathy, but the infamous line about the objective is not to die for your country, but to make the other guy die for his, won WW2.
They pretty much gave the game away with McCarthy bouncing around wheither to impeach Biden or not, and none of them are saying much. Im sorry, Biden should be impeached for opening the boarder at a minimum and for Treason and Bribery as well. And it should have been done the first yr. Now there is so much evidence he is compromised and McCarthy is changing his mind every time the wind blows.
["Ambiguous pronouns in writings are pronouns (she, he, they, we, us, I, you, it, etc.) that have lost their clear connection to the nouns that they replace."]
I listen to Brooks Agnew occasionaly and he explained what China does to companies who move there for manufacturing. They steal the intellectual property, reproduce it cheaply and poorly and send the inferior product around the world. He advised they don’t innovate or invent they steal. Go to Harbor Freight and buy anything electrical, you’ll be returning it at some point.
They buy old brands like Craftsman, make it cheap and so they break, then run it into the ground and find another to do the same thing too. Kinda sucks too because sometimes you dont catch that the manufacturing has changed for bit.
Sears was guilty of that decades ago - and partly the reason they have vanished. Craftsman used to be excellent quality with easy lifetime replacement if they broke. Sears started outsourcing the product to the cheapest supplier(China), and suddenly their sockets would break under minor use. It became such a hassle to have to keep returning them - and realizing they were junk - caused me to walk away from the brand forever.
Right - but still the companies went in droves because they thought it to be lucrative. And they had the fear of missing out and the fact that their competition would be there to cut costs so that placed additional leverage on them.
A lot of industry is now turning back to Mexico and to India. India is the one to watch. Vietnam yes, but India is huge, and is not a Communist country, and has a large, well educated technology work force.
1. ‘Cheap whores like Joe Biden’…I guess we know who Don ain’t voting for.
2. So it’s not just the 3 letter agencies, the entire D-rat nation and every assorted kook and weirdo that can get their withered crooked hands on a firearm but the entire country of Chy-na out after the ‘Real President’. Good thing we can see’em coming from a mile away when they ask, Can I buy a

Now that Tucker has used the word ‘assassination’ lets not be squeamish. The very existence of the West is at stake!
"The Bushes and Democrats..." Not really a damns worth of difference between them.
Do not forget to emphasize that Trumps tariffs were on the 1st-point-of-sale export places there. Your $20 toaster here has a cost of $4 in the export zone where the 25% tariffs were applied and they paid it, not you.
My company built a factory in China to manufacture goods to be sold in Asia. Most of the products produced there are sold here and we are bringing back the manufacture of all products.
It is a beautiful thing that Trump dropped our corporate tax rate from the highest in the world(39%) to 21%!!!!!! HOW THE HELL DID WE SUPPORT THE HIGHEST CORPORATE TAX RATE IN THE WORLD FOR DECADES?!
Oh yeah, The Marshall Plan giving away our country to enrich politicians.
"...what technology have the communists ever shared with the USA?" Considering that 90% (& up) of it is all stolen, whatever hypothetical tech they'd "share" with us would look very familiar, no?
Spent five years with a Japanese bank 1989-1994, at the end of which time Japan had thrown in the towel on all their insane American "investments" (mostly real estate, which had spectacularly tanked. Remember Rock Center? They left the keys on the security guard's desk and vanished).
I'm now looking for the exact same thing to happen to long-term Chinese finances (nationally/internationally). The parallel indications A) 1980-early 90's, and B) today, in general, look very familiar to me.
"We were very careful in what little trade we had with those communists."
The sentiment if not the quote, itself: "I'm for trading with the Soviets anything they can't fire back at us" (or words to that effect) is largely attributed to Hubert H Humphrey, who today, would likely be considered a relatively conservative Democrat. The prospect of "trade" with Communist China likely would not have even occurred to him.
"President Trump slapped Red China upside the head with tariffs."
I might have used, "bitch slapped" instead, but you have much better editorial sense than I.
I'm certain Drudge was the equivalent of the bargain of bargains in Filene's Basement.
I say remove the regulatory guardrails that protect US companies from competition and that also keep them from going to hell. New domestically founded enterprises can replace them as they help their behemoth predecessors down that path to the gate with the sign that reads, 'Abandon hope, all ye who enter here.'
Because of the one child China policy, this generation of Chinese men make the American Soy Boys look like John Wayne. That is the real Chinese long-term problem.
success of Red China has been on the backs of Americans. We facilitated the opening of the Chinese economy to the world and the acceptance of the regime to the world as well. For a period of time the geniuses in DC actually believed they would change the political landscape and “bring China into the fold” of democratic nations. Meanwhile the CCP played along. They played the long game. They made us dependent on their cheap labor, which put a lot of money into American corporate pockets. The downside of course is what Mr. Surber discusses in the article, because while the C-suites prospered, millions of line workers lost their jobs, critical technology and processes were relocated and or stolen , the PLA was made huge with our dollars, and they bought off our government bureaucracy and politicians.
Simultaneously they started the pandemic of Fentanyl, and then in 2020 with active financial/technical assistance and planning of our government biosecurity apparatus and its corporate slimeball partners, they unleashed COVID. They killed at least 1,00,000 U.S. citizens and trashed the economy, which is still causing problems for Main Street, especially small businesses. All this happened because of government geniuses who got played by somebody smarter, who understood the weaknesses of our system and just how greedy people can be. But we did it to ourselves.
Trump is the only one who can and will stop China. China is not without its internal problems. They gave a lot of economic and civil problems. The Chinese people do not like the CCP. But the CCP runs a brutal surveillance prison state. Quick story - some years ago I did a charity surgical mission to China. Every enterprise of any size in Chiba has political officers implanted into its hierarchy. Our team operated for a week on cleft lip and palate patients. During these types of trips, which are demanding, long hours and intense work, it’s typical to develop camaraderie with the local team working with you. At the end of the mission the hospital threw us a send off party at a big karaoke club. At the club we had two rooms. In one room the CCP apparatchiks were left alone to sing patriotic anthems. In the other room the nurses and doctors and other staff partied with the gringos. The dichotomy was clear. The people tolerate the CCP because they have to. They don’t like them at all. We should remember that we don’t want to end up with the same crap here, which is exactly what the American Marxists and the CCP would love to see. That’s why Raimondo is kissing ass in China. Joe Biden is a crooked POS whose pockets are filled with CCP money, just like most of Congress, many of our largest universities and of course the corporations.
Very fitting essay for today when the peons still work but suits and pols enjoy a [holiday?]created for workers.I guess this coming installment/election has some rich fraudsters and crooked pols a bit nervous as it should. Thanks to people likeyou Poca-man we are winning the battle of reason so I say thank you and plow ahead.Puff poll, thank Dr.cat.
I remember what the CCP did to Hong Kong, Raimondo doesn’t.

It's the first sodomite president and its cronies: Susan Rice, Valerie Jarrett, et al.
Yep. Zero is in his third term. Who will be his stunt POTUS for his fourth?
Its spouse, Big Mike.
That's my bet, although it will be as VP. All depends on Trump's outcome.
Who is pulling their strings! Obama is a puppet.

The incompetent Gina Raimondo is unqualified to be Secretary of Commerce.
Sadly, she may also be the most competent cabinet member of Xiden’s corrupt regime.
Can you name ANYONE in the Biden regime that is qualified to do ANYTHING other than lie and/or steal.
Tony, that's the game they are playing with us. It is called distraction so they can keep pulling the puppet strings.

Everyone of them is quite competent at implementing their evil strategy to destroy our beloved USA.
You are correct as these are their orders from the global cabal of evil.

What's the over/under on how many days before a House member forces a vote to vacate the Speaker's chair? The wimp has to go.
Hard not too since they are roommates.
"it" is, I think, an ambiguous pronoun.
["Ambiguous pronouns in writings are pronouns (she, he, they, we, us, I, you, it, etc.) that have lost their clear connection to the nouns that they replace."]
Perhaps we need a new rule of grammar such that any formal noun becomes an ambiguous pronoun when it is in reference to a politician . . . . .
New Category: "Politician, Spineless-Ambiguous."
I'm getting there, especially after the Speaker vote circus. I guess they are a distraction I need to stop focusing on - along with all the others.
Kinda like Newt's "Contract with America"... a blank piece of paper he carried in his inside coat pocket.

We wondered why he turned in March 2017 or so. The Twitter files showed CIA paid off social media, which would explain Drudge's change of heart
Because of the one child China policy, this generation of Chinese men make the American Soy Boys look like John Wayne. That is the real Chinese long-term problem.
Vietnamese women know that is the threat…
success of Red China has been on the backs of Americans.
Trump 2024. It’s the only way.
AMEN my Brother believer!
cheap whores like Joe Biden — paid off...and now we pay because of the corrupt greed that is our elitist ruling class.
