Bottle of Whine, fruit of the whine, never gonna let you get sober. Leave Trump alone, get yourself home, let you go home and start over

Damn, now that tune is going to be floating around in my brain all day. But I won't mind because Don's new lyrics are going to make me smile.

Not a bad song to have replaying in your head. Don is a master of rewriting lyrics.

It’s Gilmer, just to keep it real. My sister bought the single of “Sugar Shack” and must have played it a thousand times.

Hard to believe they’re the same band.

By the way, there's a word for a song that is catchy enough to get stuck in your head.

It's called an "earworm."

It can be annoying if you don't like the song! But the opposite is true if you're trying to learn and play it. I try to get them started before bed, and sometimes I wake up knowing a tune without half trying...

“Obama ruined the Democrat Party by bringing racism back in a sort of this time it’s our (black people) turn.” And he learned that from his time living in the dystopian city of Chicago (which last had a Republican mayor in 1934) and attempted to export it to the rest of the country. Thank God for DJT.

VICKI's avatar

You outdid yourself today starting with Temu Obama who btw, took race relations back to 1940 after knowing he was raised by his white relations (relatives) and that ticked me off from day one. Fetterman actually is making sense of late so he's big enough to replace the twerps Barry and Hakeem...anyway, you made my day and I needed it...don't ask! lol Thanx!

“In this presidency, he’s playing tic-tac-toe and they still lose.”

Another brilliant Surberism! Thank you, Don!

I'm actually hoping for the shutdown as it will allow more RIFs of federal employees, per Russ Vought, Dir of OMB.

Marlan Hoerer's avatar

I sure hope PDJT and co. stick to their guns and government shuts down. A shutdown means no more laws get passed , now to purge a slew of un-neccesary piggy-back laws enacted by bureaucrats and not pols. Thank you for the excitement column and poll today said sendem freeze frame Mc Turtle.

Good one!

I've heard him called a Post Turtle.

Something about getting up into a position (on a fence post) without really knowing how he got there or how to get down again.

I think he's finding out what a 15-minute toilet "swirly" from the President feels like.

I am looking forward to the cave that’s coming by Democrats as they just have to have all those non essential government workers/voters/snitches in their fold.

If the Dems play this game incorrectly-a real possibility- and Trump fires a vast majority of non essential workers the folks will rejoice at real government cuts. DOGE cuts can become real thanks to Chuck U and the morons on the left. Who would have thought that?

Shrugged's avatar

If Trump has any discussion with Schumer, he is letting down his MAGA base. It is time to play hard ball with these CRs and government shutdowns.

steph_gray's avatar

Thankfully our fabulous President told both Schumer and Jeffries to go pound sand.

"Obama begat Hillary “Why Aren’t I 50 Points Ahead!” Clinton who begat Biden who begat Kamala. The further the media and power insulated Democrats, the dumber their candidates became..."

Exactly. I sometimes consider the Dem candidates for the presidency since Obama, and I marvel at two things:

1. Two of them are repugnantly horrible human beings (HRC, FJB), and the other a vacuous DEI idiot (Harris); one would govern as Dr. Evil (HRC) and the other two are figurehead puppets with no ability to govern

2. Considering the above, these three were all exalted by half the voting public

I rather enjoy the "as ye sow, so shall ye reap" dynamic of what eventually happened after years of the media and power insulating Democrats.

Brian LeMay's avatar

Well said ! I guess after installing FJB the Dims thought elevating Harris was a done deal ; reckon who had the final say in that conversation ?

steph_gray's avatar

My guess:

We the People did!

As the deadline approaches, there will be intense pressure put upon republican senators to be "bipartisan," by which it is meant, cave in to the democrats in order to avoid the dreaded, but entirely fictional and meaningless "government shutdown." Every one of the quislings in the corporate media will be demanding "compromise," which is merely a euphemism for "defeat" for Trump's program. The senators will, in turn put pressure on Trump to likewise be "bipartisan." If he agrees, the democrats will have, as usual, won the day. It is therefore absolutely essential that each and every one of us, by which I mean all patriotic, right-thinking Americans, contact our republican senators and let them know they must not compromise on a single point. Shutting down the giant suckhole that is the federal government and giving Trump an opportunity to prune its many branches is the goal. Let us never lose sight of that. Rubbing democrats' noses in shite is merely a bonus.

Valoree Dowell's avatar

I don’t have any (Republican senators). For those who do, pls tell yours for me that there are patriotic, right-thinking (and sensible, hard-working, over-taxed, fed-up) citizens in blue bleeding states that need your strength, conviction, and support for Pres Trump’s programs. Compromise is defeat.

Shoveltusker's avatar

"Obama ruined the Democrat Party by bringing racism back in a sort of this time it’s our (black people) turn."

Yes. And he did it with the complicity of all the Good White People™. Obama's evil shtick was that he didn't really ever castigate whites or whip up resentment among blacks, as his preacher did every Sunday. He was much more subtle: he inspired vacuous white people to join the cult of Obama—a cult of white people who could consider themselves superior to white people who were outside the cult.

Appealing to the worst instincts of weak-willed people, appeal to their moral vanity and self-regard. The mark of a true demagogue. More I think about it, the more I think of Obama as a truly evil person.

TeaPartyGal's avatar

Well, Obama at least understood his constituency well, because he himself was based in moral vanity and self-regard, and the lure of considering oneself superior.

I suspect a good portion of Obama's life has included being "fawned over" by whites trying to prove they were not racist. It is understandable that after awhile Obama would come to secretly despise them for their fawning, while at the same time becoming totally convinced he was utterly superior to them, and everyone else.

OldeArtiste's avatar

And the most fawning white person was Stephen Colbert. He nearly gave Obama a tongue bath on his show.

Greg's avatar

Lol. I laughed my ass off when I heard Chuckie demanding stuff "or else". I told the Spouse Mouse, Trump should come out and take "or else", shut the govt down and prove (again) we don't need all those useless union employees.

Trump is not only fighting the Dems. He's a lame duck. Couldn't care less about reelection. Or the weak sauce Republicans in Congress. He's forcing them to act as well.

Mike Smyth's avatar

He doesn't care about reelection because there will be no 2026, let alone 2028 election! Don the Dictator, President for Life! At least that what the Clown Party, I mean Democratic Party (have to use the "ic" to keep the wife happy.) says.

Greg's avatar

Yes. And this rhetoric is very dangerous. But Chuckie doesn't care.

Mike Smyth's avatar

Fetterman will be shown the boot come next election. He's too sensible for the Clown Party. (sorry clowns.)

Shrugged's avatar

Perhaps. If he's replaced with MAGA that's a good thing. He was one of the early adopters - even before the 2024 election - that PA was going red and he needed to shift gears to have the chance of a future in that role.

I won't go so far as to call him a "smart Democrat" because that's an oxymoron.

Brian LeMay's avatar

Yeah, he's the only one in that bunch who exhibits some common sense and integrity .

VICKI's avatar

Yeah, but the dems like the showy, loud mouth AOC and her new pal. Muslim Mamdani...they scare me as voters seem to be taken with them; not sure why, makes no sense but we are not dealing with common sense. :Ladies get ready to cover your hair and walk behind your man.

steph_gray's avatar

True.

But not often enough.

Replace with MAGA is my vote too.
