I see a judge or two are stopping the Trumpster from freezing grant funding. The Trumpster isn't obeying the judge and continues to freeze the funding. Interesting battle in the courts to ensue. I'm betting the Trumpster anticipated this and will win.

Reddog's avatar

Biden refused to adhere to court orders on college loan forgiveness too. And he did so with impunity.

Epstein Did Not Kill Himself's avatar

They got away with it because the media downplayed it or ignored it. With Trump the media will have a temper tantrum. I say, well, that's too bad. I think most people now are on to the media and the games they play.

Don Reed's avatar

02/04/25: This time around, their tandrums are having no effect (other than amusing us).

Putting Chuck Re-Todd, Norah O'Donnell (The "News-Actress"), and "The Pee Wee Herman of CNN" (Jim Acosta) out to pasture is just the begining.

Oh Really?: Comcast (owns NBC) thinking they can get rid of MSNBankruptC by spinning it off in an IPO.

New Office Pool: Pick the day that CBS caves/settles out of court with Trump for doctoring the ALREADY scripted Kookamunga Harris "interview." And give half of that money to Rudy Giuliani.

Rob Olsen Elder's avatar

Interesting, but not surprising, how the near death media continues to project the radical effects of their actions on Trump! Krugman is one of the most evil ones! Praise God for Donald Trump and his team!!

Marlan Hoerer's avatar

Best part is how hard they play up Dem.statements and play down or castigate anything from PDJT and his staff.

Playswithneedles's avatar

There is precedent for a president to ignore a judge. 0bama did it in 2009 when he refused to end a ban on deep water drilling in the Gulf of America after a judge ordered the ban to be lifted. Choke on that, lefties.

Sheila Barkofske's avatar

What goes around comes around. Plus love the way Gulf of America is catching on.

Don Reed's avatar

02/04/25: Change the gas stations' names back to "Gulf," just to annoy Nancy "High Heels" Pelosi.

Arrest a few judges. The traitors are going to howl anyway, let's have a full chorus!

Don Reed's avatar

02/04/25: The hell with the judges this time around. Declare martial law.

2) If anyone is expecting Mexico and Trudeau to seriously do what they just said they'll do --- enforce laws and borders --- he's nuts. The Mexican drug kingpin they "arrested" is probably now sitting in a Mexican "jail" having a hookah party with hookers. Trudeau has a few weeks left and he'll be draining Canadian treasuries faster than Willie Sutton.

3) The Poilievre video from Canada is SUPERB.

Trump, Farage, Poilievre, Miliei (Argentina) and Bukele (El Salvador) UNITED can smash the criminal rings that under Biden were doing just fine and dandy, weren't they?

Step Two: Destroy the teachers' unions.

Step Three: Federalize WDC. All of it. Declare martial law, if necessary. Make it a legal entity of the Pentagon. No more little communist fiefdom with Soviet judges and jails surrounding the White House.

4) Loved that reference to the Duke Brothers!

5) Make Chuck the Schmuck eat that avocado. A week after it turns brown. He'll turn brown.

LuAnn's avatar

Make them eat avacado -- on toast.

Don Reed's avatar

02/05/25: That would be cannibalism (toast eating toast).

Brian LeMay's avatar

Well said Don ! I will second every statement especially number 3 .

Don Reed's avatar

02/04/25: It's a dead heat for Best Orator, between Poilievre and Farage. This barnburner occurred just recently:

Another classic comment--- "The Duke Brothers"---- Most of us will know what that is from. A great movie. Not going to spoil the fun. Hint: Eddie Murphy.

CactusMatt32's avatar

'probably was stealing before he could crawl'....

marbucks's avatar

Thanks—I can use a good recommendation.

AZCACTUSPETE's avatar

For me this Eddie Murphy movie is a top five comedy. Timeless story; good plot; some very good actors/actresses. I will not say the name of the move here and spoil things for others. Hint #2. Jamie Lee Curtis.

Playswithneedles's avatar

Hint #3. Orange juice futures.

AZCACTUSPETE's avatar

Hint #4... "Where's Beeks"?

marbucks's avatar

So…watched Trading Places last night. Enjoyed it; my husband LOVED it. Forgot how appealing Jamie Lee Curtis was. My husband awaits more recommendations.

AZCACTUSPETE's avatar

Jamie Lee was gorgeous and fit the part perfectly. OK... here goes another recommendation... The hint is "Soul Glow"... many will know that one too. Another Eddie Murphy flick.

marbucks's avatar

Will keep it in mind. Thanks

These days you can pretty reliably place your bet that whatever the “news media” tells you is exactly how it ain’t.

PM's avatar

Turley on birthright: That is why the Trump administration may win either way. It will either secure a new interpretation from the high court or it could spur a campaign for a constitutional amendment. All of this could unfold around the time of the midterm elections, when incumbents of the president’s party are generally disfavored. This is a wedge issue that many in the Republican Party might welcome.

PM's avatar

Epicaricacy-The Department of Justice (DOJ) has launched an investigation into Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) after he allegedly threatened conservative Supreme Court justices-Trump is envisioning a much larger realignment of the federal workforce and seeks to move more agencies and employees beyond the Beltway than was possible during his first term. If you can’t drain it, prosecute or disperse it

PM's avatar

Looney left’s subtle racism-DOGE ‘boys’ - 🎵We aint nobody’s toy, How come they still call us ‘boy’? HT HB. Preliminary reports are they have more brainpower than the entire DNC. A 21-year-old computer scientist named Luke Farritor just became the first person in nearly 2,000 years to read words from a papyrus scroll that was buried under more than 60 feet of volcanic ash after the disastrous eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 CE. Unmasked: Musk’s Secret DOGE Goon Squad—Who Are All Under 26

Suzie's avatar

The FBI sent out a letter stating that all those who doxxed Elon’s team members will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law, as they are duly recognized as government employees and doxxing them is a federal crime.

The people at Wired should be shaking in their boots at this moment. And well they should.

BubblePuppy7's avatar

I would point out that, according to Andy Ngo, Wired magazine and Reddit have not only doxxed these young men but their families as well. Reportedly, “hundreds of threats” have been made on Blue Sky and Reddit. Disgraceful behavior.

Suzie's avatar

And they all have been duly put on notice by the FBI that they have committed a federal crime and will be investigated and prosecuted to the full extent of the Law.

Gotta love it when the true Rule of Law is in action!!!!

Epstein Did Not Kill Himself's avatar

We need to get these cabinet nominees confirmed so these people can get prosecuted. Is there any news on the senate confirmations front?

Suzie's avatar

Bondi is up for full Senate confirmation today, and Doig Collins for VA administration

I believe RFKJr HOPEFULLY gets voted out of committee to go on to a full Senate vote, date TBD

That’s all I know of for sure for today.

LuAnn's avatar

Bobby has been voted out of committee, 14-13.

TeaPartyGal's avatar

YAY!!!!!

I've been favorable about him in a cautious sort of way, but now am an enthusiastic supporter. I am convinced he will transform our health care system in a very positive way.

I sense this is a type of divine unfoldment of RFK's purpose and contribution to the world. My sense would be that congressional traitors will not be able to derail a man who is being ushered into his "Self Actualization" phase (the highest point on the Maslow chart).

Cookie McCall's avatar

It was good to see yesterday that Susan Collins is a "yes" for Bondi

Sheila Barkofske's avatar

So I worked for an IRS contractor many years ago & pre 2016 it was determined that OPM had been breached & even though I had not worked there for years my information was compromised & so the government offered free credit monitoring for life. I say this bc of the line in the article about these young men having access to data. Oh no!!!!! Them & every one else on the face of the planet.

Its the new “thing”.

Don Reed's avatar

02/04/25: And this time around, let's not blow it (2020).

Reddog's avatar

I am so astonished at how corrupt and utterly arrogant some of our federal agencies have been with taxpayer money, I may never stop shaking my head at the news. USAID, that gets about $32B a year of tax dollars is nothing but a hollow vessel for handing out dollars to weaponize Democrat ideals for decades. No verifiable oversight of who or where our aid goes. NGOs are getting money to suppress free speech around the globe. Just shameful. And that is just one small agency. I hope Mr. Trump and all of Elon Musks crew have military grade security because they are just starting to uncover the truth. And yet Democrats criticize these actions and protest. How about we slap tariffs on the Democrat party as well!

Suzie's avatar

USAID received $39 bn of money that was “earmarked” for Ukraine!!

That agency has been stealing and distributing American taxpayer dollars to their cronies and pet causes at a rate and level that staggers the mind!!

CactusMatt32's avatar

Trump folding USAID into the corrupt State Department - will that change anything? Foggy Bottom seems to NEVER have been pro-USA since I can remember....Secretaries come & go, but seems like they and the CIA have certain areas that Never get eliminated.

Suzie's avatar

The crux of Trump’s tariff offensive, aside from simply restoring trade fairness, is an asymmetrical effort to cripple China.

China is manufacturing and shipping all the fentanyl ingredients to Canada and Mexico, in addition to infiltrating and buying it’s way into their respective countries.

Trumps real message behind the tariffs to all nations is this: This day I set before thee China or the US. Choose the US…or else.

Skinnydip's avatar

"Hung like a horsefly". Can't stop laughing.

Doggie Dad's avatar

Corrupt morons like Chuck U. Schumer think that wielding American power entails the paying off of other corrupt morons with billions of taxpayer dollars. Trump understands that real power is the leveraging of self-interest and/or the specter of economic ruin against our frenemies. It's what leadership in the name of America First looks like, and it is so novel that neither the MSM nor either political party recognizes it yet, but they are receiving a master class in real time.

Edit: MSM and Democrats, please note: A virtual wall is being built across our southern border, and Mexico is paying for it.

marbucks's avatar

I’m exhausted from all the winning. And thanks for reading Krugman so I don’t have to.

PM's avatar

Elon just found the Air Force's spending. $1280 per paper Coffee Cup like literally those ones you found at your office. A source: they're a little cheaper if you buy a dozen

RevMikeyMac's avatar

Is that really accurate/true? If so, what a great example to flash all over X/Twitter to point out the extreme government waste that's been ongoing for decades!

PM's avatar

Elon wrote it on X-I just copied

Suzie's avatar

The Dems are trying to obstruct the confirmation of Russ Vought for OMB Director, and not without help from RINOS.

They fear him almost more that Tulsi, RFKJr, and Kash combined!

It is of the utmost importance that he be confirmed and quickly as he is the one who will really determine the actual purse strings of the government.

He has been unanimously voted out of committee to go for the full Senate vote and that needs to happen pronto.

Contact your Senators, and especially Senator Thune to confirm him ASAP.

Then sit back and enjoy what will come next!!

I listened recently to the conversation Vought had with Tucker and have been a fan ever since.
