Ahead of last night’s State of the Union speech, the press reported gloom and doom for their president. Biden is stumbling but always remember, he is 10-0 in elections (7 Senate, 2 veep and 1 presidential). He is an idiot, true, but he is an election savant.
Governing is another matter. He sucks like a Shark vacuum.
The Washington Post reported, “Americans not feeling impact of Biden agenda, Post-ABC poll finds.”
Of course, they are feeling the impact of his agenda. Inflation remains at 1970s levels, we humiliated ourselves by surrendering Afghanistan, and we are depleting our military to protect Ukraine’s border while ignoring our own.
According to the story, “62% of Americans think Biden has accomplished not very much or little or nothing during his presidency, while 36% say he has accomplished a great deal or a good amount.”
What WaPo — a house organ for the deep state — measured was the popularity of what he has accomplished. Not much of it is good.
ABC’s report on the very same poll began, “Four in 10 Americans say they've gotten worse off financially since Joe Biden became president, the most in ABC News/Washington Post polls dating back 37 years.”
That is quite an accomplishment. He set a record by ruining the finances of 41% of Americans. Jimmy Carter and Herbert Hoover may yet be vindicated.
His speech on Tuesday night went well, I suppose.
AP said, “Biden made calls for unity and tried to emphasize conciliation over conflict, easier to do in this rarefied setting, seemingly impossible to sustain in such divided times.”
Biden proposed a billionaire’s tax in the hope that his ignorant supporters won’t notice that a confiscation tax is both unconstitutional and insufficient — and likely will kill the economy. But bad policy often is good politics.
Of course, it isn’t a billionaire’s tax either. It is a tax on people worth $100 million or more, which is one-tenth of a billion dollars. And they already pay a millionaire’s tax, which is on people who make $75,900 a year or more.
AP said, “Biden had pitched a 20% tax on the income and unrealized financial gains of households worth $100 million or more.”
Those are gains on paper. Will the government hand out welfare checks to the rich when stocks go down like they did last year?
AP also said, “The administration estimated it would generate $360 billion over 10 years. That would in theory help fund some priorities and possibly reduce the deficit.”
Reduce the deficit in theory? What theory? The theory of Clapping Hard To Save Tinker Bell? Because this tax will raise — according to AP — $36 billion a year, which is not even 1% of the money the federal government spends.
Biden’s damage to America goes well beyond dollars and cents. He is fundamentally transforming Americans into layabouts. Stimulus checks have replaced paychecks, much to the detriment of men and women and the society they have built.
In the film Office Space, wage slave Peter Gibbons is hypnotized into no longer caring about work. He stops showing up for work. Meanwhile, the Two Bobs are interviewing workers to see whose jobs the company will eliminate. The Two Bobs interview him.
Bob Porter: Looks like you’ve been missing a lot of work lately.
Peter Gibbons: I wouldn’t say I’ve been *missing* it, Bob.
A punchline in a movie is a generation later a way of life for many. Labor participation is low and getting lower as the Democrat Party turns America into a land of lazy entitled people. Why work when you can collect a check and play video games all day? Vote Democrat and never work again.
Obama got the ball rolling in his first term when he appointed a bunch of socialists as administrative law judges to rubber stamp Social Security Disability claims. This is a little known racket as someone in their 20s can claim depression and get a lifetime supply of monthly checks.
On July 21, 2020, the National Alliance on Mental Illness published, “How to Qualify for Social Security Disability Benefits with Depression.”
It said, “There are many different symptoms associated with depression and nearly all of them can be debilitating. In order for your claim for disability benefits to be approved you will need to show that your depression makes it impossible for you to work. To do that you will have to meet the requirements that the Social Security Administration has set. Those requirements can be found in the Social Security Administration Blue Book listing for depression.”
Depression is a serious illness but using it as a ticket to a lifetime supply of monthly checks is plain wrong — and deadly. I’ll explain later.
The United States Senate Republican Policy Committee reported on July 15, 2015, that Obama’s law judges were bankrupting the disability trust fund.
The RPC said, “The SSA has allowed, and even encouraged, administrative law judges to rubber-stamp disability claims. According to a 2014 congressional report, ‘there were 191 ALJs who had a total allowance rate in excess of 85% [between 2005 and 2013]. These 191 ALJs awarded more than $150 billion in lifetime benefits between 2005 and 2013.’
“A 2014 study by the inspector general for Social Security found that only 11% of ‘high allowance’ ALJ decisions contained a well-supported rationale. An official with an association for ALJs told 60 Minutes in 2013 that ‘if the American public knew what was going on in our [disability] system, half would be outraged and the other half would apply for benefits.’”
That Republicans have not made an issue of this reflects a lack of concern about the future of America. Hog raiser-turned-RINO Joni Ernst headed the RPC then.
The financial damage to the country is only half the problem. A man needs a purpose in life. Idle hands are the devil’s workshop. Idleness leads to boredom. Boredom leads to drug abuse. Drug abuse leads to death.
Drug overdose deaths have skyrocketed, doubling in the last 8 years, as they topped 107,000 last year. I live in West Virginia, which has led the nation in drug overdose death rate in each of the last 20 years.
What are the politicians doing? Everything they can to make it easier to overdose. On the West Coast, the de-criminalization — legalization — of hard drugs has begun.
California may be banning plastic straws, but by golly it and other states are handing out free hypodermic needles to junkies. Somehow, straws buried in a landfill make their way to the sea but needles littering the beaches do not.
Democrat Governor Janet Mills of Maine bragged that her administration is “increasing the purchase and distribution of naloxone in communities across Maine in response to increased numbers of overdoses. Since 2019, the Mills Administration has distributed more than 276,000 doses of naloxone, which has been used to reverse over 7,100 overdoses that may have otherwise been fatal.”
Really? Maine is 9th in overdose death rates. West Virginia does the naloxone thing, too. Maybe instead of saving lives, the naloxone is postponing when the junkie dies of an overdose. Maybe we should go back to what worked 50 years ago: factory jobs and tough laws on drug use.
The shutdown of the economy in the Great Pandemic Panic accelerated the Office Space-ing of America. Federal government policy enables people in their prime working years to stay home and play video games instead of working hastened the bankruptcy of the nation.
What a waste. The money Biden prints up to hand out comes at a terrible price.
The national debt is $31 trillion. Red China’s balloon was a far less risk than this ballooning debt. The annual vigorish on that debt will soon hit $1 trillion.
Perhaps Biden will pay for his terrible presidency.
AP reported, “A majority of Democrats now think one term is plenty for President Joe Biden, despite his insistence that he plans to seek reelection in 2024.
“That’s according to a new poll from The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research that shows just 37% of Democrats say they want him to seek a second term, down from 52% in the weeks before last year’s midterm elections.”
But he was even less popular among Democrats four years ago in 2019, and a year later they nominated him. Don’t count him out.
I wish I could say the same thing about America. This nation was built by honest, hard-working men and women who tamed a wilderness. Video games, drugs and government checks are killing us.
But that is not all the ruin Biden has brought.
Our domestic tranquility continues to be threatened by the very apparatus we set up to protect it: the federal government.
In December 2019, Hunter Biden dropped off his laptop at a repair shop in New Jersey. Surrendered is a more fitting description as he never reclaimed it. The repairman saw its contents, said holy cow, and duly handed it over to the FBI for investigation and prosecution.
The FBI sat on it. When the New York Post broke a story about the laptop, the FBI swooped in and protected Biden.
Marc A. Thiessen of the Washington Post reported on December 10, 2022, “Twitter suppressed the New York Post story that broke the news of the laptop’s existence, preventing users from sharing the story or even sending it by direct message (a tool usually used to stop the dissemination of child pornography). Worse, the company suspended the New York Post’s Twitter account, as well as other accounts that shared the story.”
The FBI had pull. The bureau paid Twitter $3.5 million to monitor what it labeled disinformation.
Thiessen wrote, “This is a scandal — one that appears to involve collusion between the FBI, the intelligence community and social media platforms to block a valid news story that could have damaged Biden and aided Trump’s reelection campaign.”
Russian interference did not elect Biden president. Deep-state interference did. In horror films, the call comes from inside the house; in real life, the fascism comes from inside, too.

I reported the email as spam to GMail — which is owned by Google. Someday GMail will kick me out too.
But nothing really dies on the Internet. The post is here.
And I now am here on Substack.
By the way, Disney, that’s what you do when Chairman Xi tells you to censor an episode of The Simpsons. You leave.
I, a lifelong night owl, now get up every morning at 6am to read your blog. At 74. Wow. My constant prayer is for you to live longer than me.
Excellent summary, Don. That is just sick about the Social Security Disability awards for depression. That should get alot more news coverage.
And thank you, also, for always making me laugh out loud--my favorite line today was: "What theory? The theory of Clapping Hard To Save Tinker Bell?"
