β€˜I’m very dark about it.’… no kidding you bitch. And it was you, your bosses, the networks and the Columbia School of Journalism and their graduated drones and similar towers of higher education who helped turn out the lights.

Anyone who depends on the MSM for anything but a reminder not to β€˜Squeeze the Charmin’ needs to walk around with a Dunce cap on!

Adorable Deplorable's avatar

Kind of dumb the MSM is touting a group (Congress) that has an approval rating of 13%. Isn't that just kind of stupid? Bad business? Kind of amazing MSM's approval rating is as high as 32%. But then again probably polled by the same people who had Cackles winning in a landslide!

Reddog's avatar

I think by now we would all be better off throwing poll numbers away and believing our own eyes. All of those polling companies are located in DC and NYC save a couple in LA. That should be enough reason to discount anything they say.

Harry's avatar

You want accurate polling numbers? Look up Rich Baris at the People's Pundit. His polling results may not be the results you wanted. But you can be sure, they are accurate.

Reddog's avatar

Harry, the flaw in the polling business is that someone is paying for the results. That could be a candidate or a network. Until The entire polling business decides to adopt ethical practices, and sticks to them, they are all suspect in my eyes. Not just me saying this. One can believe what they want about the polling business but their history sucks.

Marlan Hoerer's avatar

The very idea of a poll is to tilt opinions in a given direction even if not maliciously intended.

Doug's avatar

They deserve it after all the phony numbers they were throwing around.

Chuck Goldman's avatar

Or it’s just a made up number, the real number being 13% or something.

Suzie's avatar

Ironically, They are the very darkness they dread - and they should.

12/16/24: Leslie Stahl lying right to Trump's face, and KNOWING that she's lying, denying the authenticity of the Hunter Biden laptop. And now she has the audacity/chutzpah to whine/complain that CBS is now a post office in a one-half-horse town in the New Media Landscape. And poor "Little Georgie" Stephenopo-mouse, who Disney handed $105,000,000 some time ago, and I assume, has kept with COLA adjustments ever since. Take that $15 mil out of his paycheck, please.

Suzie's avatar

When you listen to people like Stahl and Noonan, amongst others in media, it is stunning to me how self-righteously justified they feel about spewing out. day after day, what they most certainly know to be utter propaganda and lies - and if they don’t know, then more’s the pity.

They themselves are the very darkness they fear, darkness in which they live and move and embody, and are seemingly incapable of perceiving or allowing even a drop of the light truth to enter in.

What a truly horrifying and totally damning state to live in!

β€œ And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.

But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.”

~ John 3:19-21

Adorable Deplorable's avatar

They DON'T know they are spewing lies. Why? A) The are an awful lazy bunch and will never dig deep. Because B), They are petrified at what they may find out. The truth.

Suzie's avatar

C.) They have an agenda

kam's avatar

Au contraire ! They know full well what they are doing. Someone owns and controls these magpies. They are all, 100% B-grade actors babbling a lousy script.

Adorable Deplorable's avatar

IDK. Gotta remember these imbeciles spent 15-20 years being indoctrinated in schools. That's a lot of brainwashing.

Amy's avatar

Plus they only hang around with people who believe exactly as they do.

Adorable Deplorable's avatar

Hanging around the news room water cooler is the most likely place to be infected with TDS. The faculty lounge at just about any college in the country is a close second.

NNTX's avatar

Well Peggy Noonan admitted recently that she has avoided spending time with Trump because she feared he would "charm" her and thus she would lose "objectivity" in reporting.

She KNEW she was lying and misrepresenting the truth as per her column.

So many of these women have unresolved issues with men, that they project onto whomever they are "covering".

For that matter, what the h*ll is wrong with little George Stephenopoulos. HIs interview with Nancy Mace was unbelievably offensive and combative. A perfect example of "mansplaining" about rape, no less to a rape victim.

And he chose to lie about Trump and the detestable E Jean Carroll to make his miserable propagandistic point.

These folks know and they don't care one whit.

Reddog's avatar

πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

Cookie McCall's avatar

And that is why Catherine Herridge is so good. She embodies investigative journalism and they keep trying to shut her down because she is not afraid to dig into the facts

Marlan Hoerer's avatar

Sheryl Atkinson was also very much an investigative reporter.

Wim de Vriend's avatar

The way I see it, it's always been a scam, not an effort at communicating reality. The news-jockeys' job has never had more than 2 requirements: #1, to look good, and #2, to sound good, irrespective of whether what they spouted was true. It's been a long time since I became aware of the scam, when I heard one of those shallow pontificators -- Huntley, Brinkley, or Cronkite, I don't remember which one -- closing his "news" performance with: "And that's the way it is ..."

I'm convinced that millions of Americans watching this repeated that mantra, which, I admit, must have supplied a kind of mental peace. But it never grew out of its scam-reality; instead it got blatantly worse.

TeaPartyGal's avatar

Lying just inherently doesn't bother them. They don't think it's a big deal, and all the other "cool people" around them are doing it. So lying is like the password that gets you admission into the "cool crowd". Plus they think they are so clever for being so cool.

Reddog's avatar

Oh, they know, they just can’t report it because it tears down everything they have been saying on the subject to date.

Subvet's avatar

David Brock's "Media Matters for America" directs the news. This why all the MSN says the same thing. It is written by MM For A and read verbatem by the fake news media. Brock practically lived in the Obama White House. He may have left but his trained monkeys are still pumping out the left's propaganda.

Suzie's avatar

Yes. There is an organization, I believe it is based in the UK and run through the UN, that not only disseminates universal media talking talking points for their β€œcauses du jour”, but also holds classes and seminars and conferences literally teaching β€œjournalists” how to obfuscate truth and craft their work elevating the desired narrative. It’s quite stunning.

Deb Hill's avatar

They're like those rodents and salamanders who live deep underground; they still have eyes but have lost the ability to see.

Suzie's avatar

Eeew~ And EXACTLY!

β€œNone so blind as those who refuse to see.”

Stephen Wolf's avatar

More like cockroaches, kill them and more just creep out under the baseboard.

Reddog's avatar

Stahl and Noonan have been doing the same thing for decades. They are so blind they know what the truth is but their bias is so entrenched they can’t change. When you sell your soul to the monster, eventually the monster devours you after your usefulness is done.

Sheila Barkofske's avatar

Unfortunately, as the old saying goes, β€˜the road to hell is paved with good intentions’. Referencing that post election NYT panel (or β€˜Orange Man Bad’ therapy session) I was astonished at the never-Trumper tirade toward Kevin McCarthy. This woman (whoever she is) placed the entire blame for the destruction of humanity on McCarthy. It is not just a matter of darkness (biblical or otherwise) that is the mother of all black holes & it will consume everything it its path.

Don Reed's avatar

12/16/24: Oh, they know, all right. They know. And since they've so easily gotten away with lying in volumes in the past, their only embarrassment is that not that they lied, it's the consequences of having done so --- that no one believes them anymore. This all dates back to CBS hiring the diabolical, grasping, rapacious Katie Couric as their "anchor." THAT is when the avalanche started gaining momentum.

I vote this piece as Surber’s 2024 magnum opus.

My takeaway- Trump gets to say β€˜You’re fired’ to all the deserving β€œjamokes” in his arm’s reach.

But we get to do what he can’t- say β€˜You’re fired’ to the fake news.

Reddog's avatar

They already have been, Steve. When Musk bought Twitter that was their death-knell. We all see it. The liars making outrageous salaries just refuse to go away. But they are already done in the publics eyes.

TeaPartyGal's avatar

I don't know about this being THE one-and-only magnum opus. There's a magnum opus at least once a week, so there are 52 contenders for THE magnum opus of 2024.

kam's avatar

Fully agree. While I subscribe to Don for the great scribbling, hold my nose on Middle East killings, this is indeed, his Magnum Opus. A floodlight shining where all the Fat Rats feed without consequence.

As a song for Tulsi’s grand entrance how about,

β€œThese Boots are Made for Walking”, by Nancy Sinatra.

You keep lyin' when you ought to be truthin'

You keep losin' when you ought to not bet

You keep samin' when you ought to be changin'

Now what's right is right, but you ain't been right yet

These boots are made for walkin'

And that's just what they'll do

One of these days, these boots are gonna walk all over you

Yeah, baby.

Far from not bringing charges against Clinton and numerous other democrats, the FJB FBI and DOJ assisted state and local prosecutors in manufacturing crimes against Trump. In a NY case the AG had to go to the state house to roll back the statute of limitations just to charge Trump. And the legacy media cheered them on.

The most discouraging aspect of the last election for me is the percentage who voted for a democrat after four years of FJB and the misery he brought with their help. Hopefully Trump's success will be his retribution.

Shrugged's avatar

Stephanopoulos and ABC got off way too easy. I don't understand why Trump didn't turn down the offer and make them publicly walk over burning hot coals as the facts played out. An out-of-court settlement does nothing to change thinking among the criminals in media.

Trump didn't need $15 million - he's donating it. What he (and we) needed was to drive the rusty spike of truth into the heart of legacy media.

Next up? The administrative state. We need lots of rusty spikes for that. Perhaps as they sell off the steel components of the Mexico wall before Trump takes office, we can buy some of those rusty spikes for five cents on the dollar to put those amoral bastards out of their "Leslie Stahl" misery.

Trump also has a $20 billion suit against CBS for editing the 60 minutes interview with Kamals. Perhaps thats why we only saw Trump for 10 seconds at the Army/Navy game Saturday. GOOOO Navy!

The People who depend on the federal government (whether they are pajama wearing people or metro-slickers making too much money funded by the taxpayers) are the ones who are afraid of the Trump Administration. The only thing we have to fear is not fear itself, but one’s dependency on the government.

For the people who go to work every day and support our families and do not believe in dependency on others, and especially not dependency on the government, we welcome D.O.G.E and the idea of β€œwaste not, want not.”

An honest Press underpins an Honest Nation. Consequences for the incessant LIES is the cleanser. Or revoke the Public Licenses.

I'm still waiting for the Investigative Story on how the Clinton's used their Canadian Charity to hide the names of Foreign donors. All Bill, Hill and their pal in Vancouver had to do was declare money from Clinton-Giustra in Toronto as the source of funds into the U.S./New York Clinton Foundation. while the names in Canada remained hidden, and are hidden to this day. While Trump is forcing Justin to seal the border he should also force Justin to publicly disclose all the Foreign Bribe Money collected in Canada for those grubby Bill and Hill Grifters

Cookie McCall's avatar

Speaking of revoking licenses, I read an article just this morning imploring RFK JR to have the FCC at the top of his to do list when he assumes his new job in the TRUMP 47 administration to shut down all the BIG PHARMA ads on TV. That alone should clean up a lot of clutter!

Stephen Wolf's avatar

I don't think he can do that, but Congress could-- $$$$$$$$$ won't happen.

Suzie's avatar

But then he’d be β€œouting” himself as a chief co-conspirator in the vast money laundering operation.

That dried-up husk of a woman, Leslie Stahl was the one who accused PDJT of disinformation about the Hunter Biden laptop. I don't think she ever acknowledged her error, but then again, she probably has never acknowledged being wrong. As for Noonan, she has been irrelevant since 2008 when Obama won the Presidency. Don's characterization of both as dinosaurs is spot on.

Don Reed's avatar

12/16/24: It might be an upgrade. I'm sorry that the third Manhattan media dinosaur, Maureen Dowd, wasn't there to join them on stage --- a 100-box Kleenex sob-a-thon would have been a Guinness Book of Records winner.

TeaPartyGal's avatar

Amen about Maureen Dowd as the 3rd in that group.

Don Reed's avatar

12/17/24: There's a (by now, practically ancient) writer, Fred Reed (no relation), who wrote two brilliantly funny, satirical columns about Dowd. Have you seen them?

Jimmy Buffett was correct, Don.

The Pavlovian lap dog legacy media is the propaganda machine for the UniParty blob and the unaccountable bureaucracy Deep State.

I am always reminded of the pronounced authority of Pelosi in describing " the wrap."

Such an honest admission of the relationship between the corrupted federal government and corporate media in the USA.

Yep, Jimmy was correct. It's their own damn fault.

Lights out. The party is over. Goodnight Leslie and Peggy. Goodnight James Comey , Robert Mueller and Bob Barr. No one believed you three stooges other than the corporate media.
