Good un Don.

I'd cut Putin a wee bit more slack than you do however. He's one of the few, perhaps the only notable, political leader paying at least some attention to his country's best interests rather than The New World Order.

"He rolled NATO as if it were the town drunk". Classic!

Happy New Year, Don and fellow Surberfans! We've got to be close to hitting bottom.

Some may disagree, but I am developing a healthy dislike for America, as I perceive it is becoming. Anti free speech, anti liberty, pro open borders, the promotion of a bizarre transgender agenda on the entire nation, banana republic elections (no offense, Nigeria). my growing distaste for america almost makes me a liberal.

At this point, I'd say that the U.S. is as corrupt as Ukraine ever was.

Don: As I see it, with a lackluster Republican leader like McCarthy and Biden's minions running rampant for another two years, it is not going to get any better anytime soon.

So the question is: do the caring Americans in this country sit back and let it happen, or do we all do something about it? And if the latter, what?

True, sad and scary column. What the hell happened to us?

I am hanging by the thinnest threads of hope that somehow, someway, by the mercy and Grace of God, this Nation awakens and turns the tables on those attempting to destroy everything it once stood for.

But I won’t believe it until people - ALOT OF PEOPLE - start going to jail for their evil deeds.

Like so many words, the left has changed the definition of fascism to suit their new world order. Get yourself an old dictionary while you still can so you’ll know what words used to mean. You’ll be amazed.

Great column, Don. No truer words were spoken. Fascism is everywhere and its participants are fully complicit. The rest of us are expected to be compliant. I pray that 2023 will be better. I had high hopes for 2022, but I have to admit that I was mightily disappointed. Yeah, maybe next year. Happy New Year everyone!

I am at the same time buoyed and saddened by Don's recognition of the travesty that is the "Russia-Ukraine War." Buoyed because if he recognizes, as he obviously has, that the conflict is being prolonged and used by the neocon element that is in control of America's foreign policy, others who read his influential postings may also become similarly enlightened. Saddened because we have as yet not put a stop to it, which could be done by the simple expedient of stopping economic/military support to the dictator Zelenskyy. We must do this, not merely for the sake of the Ukrainian and Russian people who are being chewed up wholesale by the competing dictatorships, but as well for the people of Europe who are being deprived of heat, food and freedom by their rulers who are either operating as or on behalf of the globohomo/NATO/WEF/Davos cabal that is working in conjunction with their coevals in the so-called "Biden Administration." Recognition that America has absolutely no interest in who controls the territory of the Ukrainian steppe is perhaps the beginning of the awakening process. And even more urgently, we must stop our intervention in the dispute for the sake of that part of America that is still worth preserving against the depredations of the leftist/Marxist leadership that controls the democrat political party. America has been invaded, both literally and figuratively, with the southern border having been obliterated by those America-hating democrats who lied, cheated and connived their way into power in conjunction with the hordes of third world offscourings whose illegal incursion they so enthusiastically facilitate. And yes, they DO want to replace traditional Americans with a population that is more amenable to dictatorial control. Everything that has been done under the "Biden presidency" has been long planned by Obama and the traitorous scum who surrounded him. We are now simply seeing how they are now implementing their schemes under the rubric of "crisis management." After all, it was Obama's favorite catamite, Rahm Emanuel who advised him to take advantage of such "crises," in order to do things that would never be possible under normal circumstances. Obama lied his way into power, posing as a "nice, clean and articulate black" (Biden's description, not mine) and Biden took power by pretending to be a "normal/traditional, American patriot," in the fashion of FDR and JFK. I hope this charade has finally been revealed as the horrible, tragic masquerade it is and that our elected representatives do what the people have told them in no uncertain terms: AMERICA OUT OF UKRAINE, NOW!

Whether or not Ukraine (when did we stop calling it "The Ukraine"?) is democratic or a corrupt Dictatorship ... doesn't really matter. The issue is Russian expansionism. Over a year ago, not unlike Adolf Hitler and "Mein Kampf", Putin wrote a tract on how he was going to re-constitute the Soviet/Russian Empire. Biden's weakness in everything but spending and persecuting Conservatives, give Putin the opening to begin the plan he laid-out, figuring (a) Ukrsine was a pushover, and that (b) neither Biden nor NATO would intervene. An added benefit would be fracturing NATO. But, he got (a) wrong, and when Ukraine beat Putin in the field, Biden and NATO realized Putin owned s Potemkin army.

Had we abandoned Ukrsine, Putin would have moved on - like Hitler in the 30's - to Moldavia, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and, then, likely, their age-old client-statr Finland. He could have then presented the West with an ultimatum: US out of Europe, and Europe agrees to Finlandization: all significant political & economic decisions subject to Russian aka Putin veto, or face nuclear war.

Although we didnt start the fight, Biden's weakness contributed greatly to its start. We must continue to support, regardless of Ukrainian politics and/or cupidity until Russia leaves the Ukraine.
