Time for red state governors to swing into action. They have the power to call ip the National Guard. And the military has the power to use whatever force is necessary to quell riots, by disbursing crowds. Be it brute force, smoke bombs or shooting front liners, it has to happen. Wipe out the people in front and the rest will high tail it out of sight. Ditto for election day. National Guard at every red state polling place. Armed and ready to take action. The majority of the demonstrators and peace protestors will be unveiled who they exactly are: loudmouth cowards. Pick off the ones in front and the rest will be scared shitless. That'll calm things down. As for blue states, piss on them. They can self destruct all by themselves.

I will be watching today's news very closely regarding the southern border in TX, between the state v federal forces.

If Abbott backs down the state forces it will be a very bad harbinger of what is to come after November.

The feds are threatening to withhold all federal funds if he doesn't comply. Ok, do it. And watch all those Austin Dems start screaming when federally supported venues and other things they want stop. Two can play the game.

OH I WOULD LOVE TO SEE THAT HAPPEN!

Gail-- but it’s tricky as to Abbott vs. the federal forces—as I understand it, the problem always has been that only the federal government IS the one with the power over the border—the state actually IS “usurping” the federal power, legally speaking. Back when Obama was in office, Arizona state officials tried to enforce the border laws because Obama wasn’t, but Obama won in court.

The problem is— what the heck do you do when the federal government won’t do their job? Impeach the President may be the only legal choice. ?? Maybe someone who understands the legal situation better can explain this.

Expand full comment

I just had a crazy thought. Whenever the Federal government shuts down due to a lack of a continuing resolution, they always close the national parks. Shouldn't they also close the border too? Okay, it's a joke, but then again, so is our current Federal government.

Great Observation Jim !!!

Expand full comment

Yes, in one legal view what has been explained to me that you are exactly correct. BUT as I recall there is another legal POV in which if the federal govt is negligent in their DUTY, THEN the state DOES have some authority. But I'm not a lawyer so that is FWIW. 🤣

Expand full comment

It sure seems like a state would have the right to act, if the federal government won't. It can't be right that they have to sit there and allow their state to be destroyed. Maybe this will have to make its way to the Supreme Court.

For the last 40 years or so, immigration and our porous border has been an unresolved and festering issue where some states are affected in ways others aren’t. Now the border states have begun to ask for relief and actually push back. It occurs to me that history is repeating itself here (Civil War and states’ rights) with a twist.

Today we aren’t advocating for slavery but the lack of federal government enforcement is certainly enabling it with the cartels trafficking kids and women on the border and then inside our own country. All those statue topplers angry about what happened here hundreds of years ago should have looked in their own backyards! And certain States are being harmed economically and left unprotected physically while others who are - or were - insulated sing the praises of open borders. It’s a recipe for disaster and unfortunately we don’t have a leader with even a modicum of the wisdom and compassion of Abraham Lincoln at the helm.

Georgia Governor Brian Kemp is in Davos and refusing to prosecute Fani Willis for obvious conflicts of interest and fraud in the Trump kabuki trial, Georgia edition. Our entire slate of Republican candidates at the top of the ticket in AZ was robbed of their seats by election fraud in 2022, with the help of the Republican Maricopa County Board of Supervisors and mostly Republican judiciary. Abbott is being forced to do what he's doing by the voters. He doesn't really have his heart in it. Who else is going to step up - nobody. Paxton is a bona fide Conservative, far more so than his boss. The Texas Legislature unfortunately is run by RINOs, who tried recently to remove ( unsuccessfully) Paxton.

These RINOs also put Democrats in charge of committees when they have the majority. You explain that to me and make it sound good.

When Don puts things together in his substack, it opens my eyes (which I thought had been open but I guess not). As I read today's post here, I shook my head from beginning to end. We piece together the incidents of the last several years to realize the depth and integration of evil that has been in play right under our noses. The only guy being attacked (possibly lethally someday) is the one guy telling the truth. Congress knows what's going on here.

IF Trump gets re-elected, they have a non-stop parade of activities ready to squelch him, and it will get very nasty. To say the military will not follow his orders? That's scary. I wonder what Congress will do.

Watching the Democrats and Republicans fight over the budget is like watching two drunks fight over the bar bill on the Titanic! Our self-righteous, self-serving Congressional representatives have been sitting, like bumps on a pickle, as time runs out on a funding bill. MAGA Mike Johnson had vowed not to take up another short-term extension, but backtracked as the first shutdown deadline in January neared.

The continuing resolution funding the government runs out Friday at 11:59 p.m. So far, the spending limits Republicans and Democrats agreed to, a week or so ago, have not translated into bills for full 2024 appropriations. That means neither a long-term continuing resolution nor a shutdown is off the table. Will they kick the can to March, or a partial government shutdown? Will we borrow more money? Our National Debt (MONEY WE OWE) HAS HIT $34 trillion ($34,000,000,000,000). Every American taxpayer owes $264,000 at this time. The government shutdown might be a blessing; it could cool off the spending machine that’s been running 24/7.

It is expected that we will borrow another trillion by the end of March. At the end of 2022, the national debt was $31.42 trillion, and the INTEREST paid the last quarter of 2022 was $213 billion. We are digging a financial grave for America. Look at the National Debt Clock; it’s breathtaking.

"NOW IS THE TIME FOR ALL GOOD MEN TO COME TO THE AID OF THEIR COUNTRY!" HOW?

Since I’ve become a cynic, I wonder what the underlying reason is that the Obama Stassi Marxist groups are allowed to have these peaceful protests at the White House? Is it to intimidate the public? Is it to remind us of the George Floyd peaceful protests? Is it the nail in the coffin of the fake presidency of Joe Biden, to replace him with Michelle?

I am hopeful that Trump is elected. I am a realist and understand that presidency part two will be mired in bullshit like term one, but on steroids. Unfortunately, Trump does not have what it takes to set America back on its course of success. What is required is a President Trump that is part Obama( the evil lying conniving part), part Genhis Khan, part Joe McCarthy, part Ronald Reagan and part Christ. A man who can decisively take care of business ruthlessly. Unfortunately, we will get more Jeff Sessions, Rex Tillersons and Mad Dog Mattis clones and a few Chris Wrays thrown in for bad measure. While it will be better we will be back in 28 with similar concerns.

"No one was sent to jail to face 22 years in prison. No police officer shot and killed anyone. No one in the press called it an insurrection because this was state-sanctioned psy-ops as the deep state staged the event to show widespread support for changing federal policy."

Nope - not a one - and no one of that contingent will ever face any consequences. At least, not from the proper authorities, anyway - this where the private administration of justice is needed.

"When you realize who actually controlled the event, you see it not as a protest but as an announcement of a change in foreign policy. This regime supports erasing Israel from the river to the sea."

It always did - support for/of Israel was a calculated risk. It was going to talk out of both sides of its mouth until it can finally drop the pretense. It is relieved it can almost let it go, completely.

Ah, there it is - "...mostly peaceful 'protests'..." again. No one bought it last time, so why use it, again? Because the propaganda apparatus will do the heavy lifting of lying.

"'We are supporting our partners...as they investigate and hold those found responsible accountable for their actions.'"

I'm glad I was finished with my first cup of coffee when I read that.

Ms. Smith might want to consider a career in stand-up comedy if she ever desires a change in occupations.
