Glad Judge Noreika didn’t rubber stamp the deal. She needs to watch her back, sides and front. Delacide?

Maybe Hunter will give 10% to the big gal.

Maybe a “scandal” concerning Judge Noreika from 20 years ago will be invented and submitted for a patent.

Here’s hoping the above are wrong and the tide seems to be turning, but if recent history is a guide, Hunter will skate.

Do remember this: If (IF!) Biden goes down, he's going to coil like a cobra and strike out and take everyone else down with him. Why do you think he was smirking when he left the courthouse yesterday? He knows where the bodies are hidden, and he can't be dismissed as a "conspiracy theorist" (Oops! Sorry, Ms Famous White House Spokeslez; that probably was your final firing defensive line).

And who in their right mind, when they legally have you dead to rights (if the DOJ weren't so corrupt, I could finish this sentence)... smiles and smirks when his plea bargain blows up and he has to enter a "not guilty" plea instead?

Finally, who is paying for all this legal rep for Hunter? Their expenses just shot through the roof faster than the coke went up Biden's little Navy nose.

You can/may, but I have a better idea: Judge the comments by the RESULTS ONLY. I'm a sports handicapper and almost unique in that I start with what I think will be the final score of a game being played in the future --- and then work my way backwards to the start. It is hardly idiotproof (when we take into account the method's advocate, me). but it does come in handy, for example, when one wants to "time" the NY Yankees, for instance, when they lose to terrible teams, like the Colorado Rockies (who whooped the Yankees recently).

First of all, your headline for this article, “Someone Finally Said No to Hunter” is beyond profound, and pretty much sums up the basis for the totality of his off-the-rails life.

As to this case and where it goes from here, well, I cannot even imagine the pressure, phone calls, threats and the like that this judge must be getting now from a swath of people in the Biden camp! It’s gotta be huuuuge!

A point of contention the judge had with the plea agreement left out in some of the reporting on this event is one of major import and that is the part that says Hunter cannot be prosecuted IN THE FUTURE for basically ANYTHING.

That would include any potential FARA charges, which, for anyone who’s paying attention, has just a hell of a lot to do with all the revelations now coming to light about ALL his foreign deals and money-changing with nearly every corrupt government in the world, complete with the cooperation and encouragement of his father as both Vice President and now as President.

Wowza~ what a mind blowing deal that is!

She also took umbrage with Hunters lawyer playing fast and loose with her Court’s clerks, whom they deceptively tried to get the testimony of the IRS whistleblowers detached and sealed from the case. That really pissed her off.

Plus, the part of the deal whereupon they throw in the waiving of any felony gun charges in a legal maneuver that even “disallows” her ( the judge) from adjudicating it separately.

No wonder she’s pissed!

I pray she remains alive, yet also performs a random act of Justice by throwing the freaking book at him: proclaiming the ultimate “NO” to Hunter.

Stay tuned.

Had an interesting realization:

Joe Biden, being the corrupt sleaze that he is, ordinarily at this point in time with the pressure being now heaped upon him and his political future ALL because of his son, would, if he could, cut his son loose and throw him to wolves, under the guise of a seemingly “caring father whose son had gone seriously astray”.

But he can’t. Because he is inextricably linked to his sons corrupt dealings, and cutting him loose would turn him into the Terminator of whistleblowers, bringing his father - and who knows how many others - down into the dustbin of history.

Interesting, no?

Expand full comment

Yes, interesting—well-put: “...the Terminator of whistleblowers”!

I also agree with Tony, who said our comments have lacked F A I T H. It may not be helpful for us to automatically default to cynical assumptions every single time. It may be that that puts weight into the mental atmosphere that discourages a person in a rough spot (like this judge) from standing strong.

Altho it is hard to exactly trace the impact of a thought-atmosphere on a decision or act, common sense would say, if you were in a rough position like that, which do you think would be more helpful—a mental atmosphere that reinforces hopelessness, or a mental atmosphere that feels like a glimmer of very attractive light—a light that invites a human being to reach for the right thing, for good, for a chance to be a hero in the moral world.

Or to use a different metaphor, should we blow on the embers of cynicism or blow on the embers of the divine presence in an individual’s soul? I think we can, and should, and in many cases are, seeing many instances of ordinary people all over rising to the occasion. There’s some very natural about that. As the Bible says “Quench not the Spirit”.

There should still be a transcribed version made available, but who knows how “edited” or “blacked out” that will turn out to be.

Might be a good time for Comer and the GOP House to bring all of the evidence and whistle blower testimony forward NOW instead of trickling it out and dragging this horrid mess all the way to the 2024 elections, all so they can fund raise off of it. I have this feeling we are all part of the audience in a well scripted drama being played out for politics rather than justice reasons. Convince me that any of these guys actually care about the criminality implications of Joe Biden’s involvement. If Comer and Grassley and the others honestly have the evidence and witnesses locked up and ready to testify, then lets see it. If they do, no impeachment will be necessary. Biden will pull the pin and be forced out. The DOJ will be forced to prosecute him and his crime family FINALLY! Real justice will be served. This drama stinks like politics and it’s making me grouchy and cynical I guess.

My very first reaction when I heard the reports yesterday was the same as Mr. Surber's: finally, someone told hunter NO. But it means nothing if ultimately the defense and prosecution reach any deal that gives Hunter immunity to violation of FARA. And then when the feds come to pick him up for those FARA violations, they have to agree to come with a SWAT team at 5:00 am, and to tip off CNN in advance.

This two-tiered system of justice has just gone too far. (I saw someone refer the other day to the DOJ as the Department of Just Us, and that is exactly right.) And it is what is wrong with our country right now. Ever since Eric Holder told the Congress to stuff it, and then his successor, Loretta Lynch met surreptitiously with ex-president Clinton in an airplane on the tarmac of the Phoenix Airport, the DOJ has been nothing more than an errand-boy for the Democrat party. And Joe and Hunter Biden know that, and counted on it to result in a hand-slap for a felony.

Hunter is a big boy now, let him pay the consequences of his law-breaking. A few years in prison would be good for Hunter, for his father, and for the nation. The only thing more I could hope for would be for Merrick Garland to be in there with him.
