She is doing a great job. Of course, she had some tiny shoes to fill. Former governor, never-Trumper and current presidential candidate Asa Hutchinson drew a crowd of six to an Iowa campaign event. Maybe He far exceeded expectations as only two were expected.

07-13-23: "Well, we have our first gay spokesperson ... She also looks like Sideshow Bob but it would be undignified of me to point that out." !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And that would make that pasty-face Pentagon spokesman (the one who bolted from the stage when asked about H. Biden), Sideshow Mel.

Love the Globe. Back when Nepotism "Pinch" Sulzberger was running the Times, he turned down a huge offer for the Globe, which the Times owned. He refused. Years later, he was forced to sell it for about ONE-TENTH of the amount of the original offer. Oh, and still to this day it hasn't dawned on him that his employees were misspelling his name in the Times ON PURPOSE.

Ah, so much to write about. As far as the Boston globe goes, since 2016, they have lost about 70% of their readers and their reporters are considered the laughingstock of the media (Besides CNN). Nothing they say is based on truth (Also like CNN). If it wasn't for them selling their collective souls for advertising dollars, the Globe would have folded 20 years ago.

Mr. Surber, your article also posted this missive:

"No one has asked her to leave a restaurant. Why would they? She looks like a pretty good tipper." As a general rule, homosexuals ARE very good tippers, but that never meant I wanted to wait on them. Homos always left their phone numbers along with a wad of cash. The biggest insult of my life was them asking me to be a waiter at the queer "wedding" and they were paying fabulous money for three hours of "work".

God may be mad at me for a lot of reasons, but I stood my ground. I refused to sell my soul and regardless of the money I made, left the very well known Cambridge, MA restaurant.

You are correct about gays in restaurants. They seem always to be on the prowl. Last century when we were young, my husband and I spent a weekend in Atlanta to attend a Fox Theater event. Across from our hotel on Peachtree Street (doncha know EVERY road in Atlanta is named Peachtree!), was a highly rated, gay-owned restaurant. We decided to dine there. Our waiter “hit” on my husband--relentlessly. And so did other waiters. The next night in Atlanta, we ordered pizza--delivered! Now we laugh about how pretty he was back then!

Perhaps... but as a bartender and waiter for about 10 years in my youth, blacks are horrible tippers! And her blackness cheapness would offset her gay generosity. So there's that

As a general rule, black people are the cheapest of them all, but the cheapest individual of all time was a Jewish woman in Newton, MA, the Jewish part of town in the Boston area on Memorial day, 1991. This little restaurant advertised "2 eggs, toast and coffee .49 cents." They obviously weren't making any money on that, but they had superb muffins, so we had juice and a couple of sides an d the breakfast was no more than if we had gone to a full priced restaurant.

Anyway, what turned out to be the owner grabbed this elderly woman by the back of her coat and threw her out the door and she landed on the ground with the owner yelling at her "OUT, OUT, OUT, GET THE FUCK OUT AND NEVER COME BACK.' I stood up and was about to tell him off when he said "You know that 49 cent breakfast special we had?" Of course I said 'Yes' and he said "She left a dime on the table and told the waitress "What are you complaining for, that's a 20% tip."

The best tippers I ever had ?? Jewish people who have been in the restaurant business.

I have trained many, many waiters and waitresses and my advice to them is this. "IF YOU EVER GO UP TO A TABLE THINKING YOU ARE GOING TO GET A SHITTY TIP, TRUST ME, YOU WILL."

The hospitality industry was very good to me.

If the Governor's Mansion is her home, doesn't the position offer her the rights she would have if it were her private residence? Is she allowed to display the Holy Bible in the Governor's Mansion (which would slight non-Christian religions)? I think the answer is YES to both.

Sarah knows when to hold and when to fold with grace. This time she held strong. Yeah!

Know what I like about Sarah Saunders…

She looks like a real Woman.

She talks and sounds kind of like I do.

She is educated, erudite and articulate.

She can elevate or moderate her tone and words to the occasion.

She is a mother. And a wife. And the Governor. And a Christian and proud of it. And the Best Public Face of the Trump Admin I can think of, and unless I missed something, is still highly thought of in that organization.

Overall and far and away, a real classy broad!

I have just one question, IRL does she really include Huckabee whenever she introduces herself?

The argument against the chalk is stupid. By that logic the President shouldn’t go to church or a Senator shouldn’t wear a cross on a chain around their neck. It’s protected speech by the kids, not even of a political nature, which would also be protected, and freedom of intimate association which is protected by the first amendment as well( You can live with your kids in the Untied States if you are the Governor. Maybe not for much longer...). It’s not making a law. It’s not discriminatory. Sanctimonious scolds abound. Nobody is allowed to have fun and be themselves any more. Everything must be approved by the Ministry of Commie SanctiMommies. Sick of these miserable envious losers.

When I read yet another article with quotes from the media that scream with hypocrisy, I wonder, “how does an educated person twist his brain like this to make his point seem reasonable”? If this is how education is teaching our students how to rhink and reason, then it’s clear we have a very short time left as a nation. As hard as it is for me to believe that so many people want to destroy this nation, it’s pretty hard to draw any other conclusion. I can only wonder how on earth those people became so consumed with hate for a country that has given them so much.

"The LGBT community — which now includes every media outlet in the country — is rending its clothes."

...and gnashing its teeth! If they sprinkle ashes on their heads, then we'll know they truly believe.

"'— it can open the door for any commercial business owner with bigoted, if sincerely held, beliefs to tell customers: We don’t serve your kind here.'"

One could argue that any given business already exercises that right. On the door of almost any dining establishment, there is some kind of sign, or decal reads, "No shirt, no shoes, no service." or, to the effect of, "We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason." If such privilege is permitted to a restaurant, it ought to be extended to every business, if the law is applied equally - and if it were, the SCOTUS decision would be unnecessary - but it's not, so it is.

"...the owner of a farm-to-table restaurant called the Little Red Hen told Sanders and her entourage to leave the premises at the request of the chef."

It was at the request of the owner, though, not the chef. The owner canvassed the staff before kicking Sanders and her party out, and the staff were happy to oblige and give the owners cover.

I continue to pray daily for that establishment to burn to the ground with the owners trapped inside.

"If this keeps up, someday she may return to the White House, not as a spokeswoman but as the person who hires the president’s spokeswoman."

If I am alive to see it, I'll be casting my ballot for Ms. Sanders.

The best thing about newspaper editorials is not that I don't have to read them, but that I can line the bottom of my bird's cage with them - such use also improves their content!

I'm happy the Supreme Court has, at least for now, continued to support free speech in these cases. However, the government tells private businesses what they can and cannot allow in their facilities all the time. When living in Minnesota (and in other states, I think), a government ruling came down that restaurants and bars weren't to allow smoking inside. As a non-smoker, this intrusion into private businesses really irritated me. Big Government people don't want adults to think or make decisions for themselves. They want a nation of obedient children who will do whatever they are told to do. I'm happy I am old.

The Boston Gob. What a sad metropolis Beantown has become. If you can find a copy, read "The Last Puritan" by George Santayana. It's the only novel he ever wrote. It's about an old family of Boston Brahmins, the Aldens. Even as an atheist, Dr. Santayana shows more love, compassion and understanding for the human condition than any of the first 10,000 crooked Lefties listed in today's Boston phone directory. Leftism is a spiritual, moral and physical sickness that must be terminal.
