2024 will just be a repeat of 2020 unless something changes in our elections. Mail in ballots, drop boxes, early voting, no voter ID, and Election Day morphing into election month has the democrats winning in every conceivable scenario. Unless our election calculus changes, the country is lost.

You have got that 110% right.

Is the Trump indictment the stick that finally awakens the sleeping giant? I keep thinking we have reached that point. Maybe this is it.

Will 80% of conservative voters show up and vote? Wake up voters!

Will the six or seven corrupt swing states fix their corrupt voting practices? It looks like Wisconsin is a goner now with their Supreme Court now majority lefties.

The House under McCarthy has surprised me so far. The Turtle and his hand picked successor, Thune, must not lead anymore in the Senate.

So much work to do, may this fake indictment be the stick.

In my communist MN - we lost everything by 4% because 20% of republicans didn't vote.

GET THE F OUT AND VOTE PEOPLE! Vote early and often.

Expand full comment

In Michigan we lost everything after 40 years of republican control. The state republicans, in 2020, ignored and smirked at allegations of voter "irregularities" , i.e. a Detroit precinct with 105% turnout (adjacent districts turnout ranged from 37-50%) and documentation of people voting that would be 120 yrs old. Dems won the executive branch and this brought us a Soros backed AG and rabid leftist Secretary of State. The cherry on top - we also lost the supreme court. But the state republicans were re-elected that year.

The same "winning" tactics were employed in 2022 on steroids. The republicans were swept aside and three radical ballot proposals were approved, including adding to our constitution abortion until birth and a right of minors to gender affirming care. I don't think there will be any coming back.

EXACTLY! I am troubled when I hear Trump say that they cannot beat us at the ballot box. Heavens! They already have--at least once!

In 2020, DJT received so many valid votes by actual voters that the dem Election Day machine had to manufacture millions of fake ballots and make Election Day into election weeks.

They did it before. They’ll do it again--shamelessly.

My money is on tax evasion by the Biden Crime family. They got Al Capone on this and not his other more deadly crimes.

People can relate to tax evasion since regular folks pay their fair share and when the swampers don’t pay any but hide it off shore people relate to that as unfair just like they related to the house banking scandal years ago.

The Dems have opened the door for the prosecution of a former President. They will rue the day they crossed this line.

There needs to be indictments of Bill & Hillary & Al Gore & John Kerry and Obama. None of their criminal acts should be not exposed to sunlight. Eric Holder, Merrick Garland, Bill Barr, James Comey, Lois Lerner, US DOJ lawfare attorneys, ALL should be audited down to the penny, and where criminal or unethical actions or involvement is found, stripped of federal pensions, Board of Director pay, stock options & bonuses. Those responsible for the J6 frame up - need to crucify these political bureaucrats as well.

Good piece and love the sentiment...

"Republicans now realize the threat was not Trump."

As we watched Mitch McConnell literally and purposely withhold millions of Trump generated PAC cash from at least four Senate candidates who were picked by the people of their state and endorsed by Donald(AK, AZ, NH, NV). They lost and the GOPe loved it and made money off of it.

Trump endorsed 235 candidates and 219 won(93%). Yes, a majority of these folks were shoo-ins, but...

"The case seems weak and Trump is strong. We shall see."

All true, but it doesn't matter - the Democrats took their time, and the grand jury got the green light only after they got their judge in place.

The prosecutors could dress as the clowns they are, submit comic books as evidence, and call their kids and their kids' friends as witnesses and they'll get their conviction - the fix is in.

"The Heritage Foundation might vet them for us."

That made me chuckle - even IF The Heritage Foundation saw fit to do so, it would be notable in that for the first time, it would prove itself NOT as worthless as tits on a bull. The HF is little more than a clearing house for national Republicans ala the Washington Generals.

I wish I could be as optimistic about what happens after 2024 as you, Don, but Republicans have no idea what to do with the power that comes from being the majority party in congress.

I DO hope SotH Beach Boy's efforts bear fruit - given the Republican Party's track record, though, I can only work, hope, and pray for TEXIT.

I agree entirely of your opinion on the Heritage Foundation. Like so many of our institutions and organizations, the HF is not what it once was. One of his first lines was "If you use your business to pay off a porn star, I'm not impressed with your business skill." He went on to prance like a peacock because he didn't give a f-ck about what's happening to Trump.

I told him that wasn't what the case was about and I wasn't impressed with his journalism and explained we got here because people don't give a f-ck about anybody but themselves, "present company included."

He shot back that he never claimed to be a journalist.

I told him I'll edit that to "ability to accurately convey information."

I don't know what happened after that because he "cancelled" my yearlong (out in July) subscription for me and I only found out because Pi Guy told me on my last posting.

A wonderfully hopeful piece.

And I just discovered you're far more optimistic than I am. There might be some well-intentioned people, but with the real point is not putting Trump in jail (that would be icing on the cake). The real point is the timing. The trial starts in Dec 2023/Jan 2024. Everything else will fall away and the focus will remain on that. Trump will almost certainly be the Republican nominee and they will almost certainly spend all of 2024 reducing the contest to a "racist, white supremacist criminal" versus "honest, working-class Old Uncle Joe." All the abuse of the intelligence agencies, all the censorship, all the evidence that the Bidens are nothing but a bunch of high-level thugs and shakedown artists . . . all that will get swept under the carpet amongst the screams of "But Trump." And I'd like to say that people will wise up, but we just had *another* so-called progressive mayor elected in Chicago and Wisconsin elected a Soros-backed judge to tilt that state court Democrat-crazy (not liberal, don't insult me by calling these people liberal) because Republicans are asleep at the wheel and people are livestock.

The New York Statutes of Limitation include the following

4. In calculating the time limitation applicable to commencement of a

criminal action, the following periods shall not be included:

(a) Any period following the commission of the offense during which

(i) the defendant was continuously outside this state or (ii) the

whereabouts of the defendant were continuously unknown and continuously

unascertainable by the exercise of reasonable diligence. However, in no

event shall the period of limitation be extended by more than five years

beyond the period otherwise applicable under subdivision two.

Exactly. They know this case is based on the thinnest of ice, but remember this is NY, a clone of the DC court system, and we see how the prosecutors and juries have behaved there in relation to the Jan 6th kangaroo trials. They are not beholden to the law, to say the least, and neither are the jurors. They predetermine the outcome as they see fit. It will fall to Appeals Court, and possibly even the Supreme Court to adjudicate this, hopefully, fairly.

But all of this will take time, a long time, and that’s fine with them too. They want to wreck him, ruin him, using process as punishment and in that process discourage people from voting for him.

And there’s still the Georgia grand jury and the Jack Smith Special Counsel waiting in the wings to pile on the pain.

Our government, particularly the Justice Dept., has become one the most corrupt in the world. We are in a very dark place. Pray much, and without ceasing.
