"The press has never fully explained why people voted for [Biden]."

As the saying goes: Trump got the votes; Biden got the ballots.

We all know precisely what happened, and as I say to the election-fraud-deniers: the only way not to know is to want-not-to-know - not "not want to know;" it takes actual, intentional action - not just ignorance, but willful ignorance - to deny the 2020 presidential election and to call Alleged President Joe Stolen anything resembling "president."

Alleged president Joe stolen sounds like the theft is only alleged. You know and I know there is nothing alleged, and as you said, those who say otherwise are in denial so deep that alligators are their companions.

Having lived close to the Okefenokee Swamp long enough to know that alligators love the plop of Kraft Marshmallows on swamp water. Only my fearless wife and daughters would remain behind me after our impatient guests, including a bus load of Travecca Nazarene Choir skedaddled back to the bus. The site of a 13-ish foot 2 to 300 lb alligator that magically appeared with no warning huge jaws wide open and roaring as hismeans of begging for marshmallows was too intimidating for them to remain in the open to take pictures. Our brief time there left us with an accent with the girls which was ridiculed by the teachers when we moved north because they always said yes ma'am and no ma'am and sir. My oldest daughter still loves grits. And I have a hankering for cheesy yellow squash casserole. It's sad to me that so many in the GOP have turned on DeSantis simply because he is running against Trump. Mr. DeSantis is not a bad choice, just the not the one we need right now. But that doesn't mean we should discount him and trash him. He is a far better choice for president than GW Bush, McCain, and Romney, were. He is far better than Bill Clinton was for sure. I really worry about my party when they lose perspective like this and trash DeSantis simply for opposing the favorite. Let me just say that no one knows who Trump will pick for VP yet, and it could be DeSantis if the polls and analysts tell Trump he is the right choice to get elected. This is politics after all and the number one pick and number two picks don't have to sleep together to govern together.

Expand full comment

DeSantis should have waited another four years. At this point, he has not shown himself to be ready for the national stage. I don't know how his current and uninspiring run is going to affect his political future. He should go home to Florida.

Expand full comment

I respectfully disagree. He would be the front runner if Trump was not running. We would all be touting his accomplishments as well. We in the GOP have fallen for the same tactics affecting the Dem donks. Politics today in America means you have to destroy the opposition to support your candidate. How is that any different than virtually any South American country?

Expand full comment

“IF Trump we’re not running” is the key phrase here!

But he IS running! And to be running AGAINST him, as all these so-called contenders are, is just the first strike against each of them.

That act in itself reveals they don’t have a clue about MAGA, or how much the entire political landscape has so dramatically changed since Trump was first elected.

They are ALL, to varying ways and degrees, playing for the other team. Otherwise, they would be wholeheartedly supporting the only TRUE candidate for the Republican Party, Donald J. Trump.

Expand full comment

Or, they do understand what the movement is, and they have a different idea about how to achieve the same end result. Maybe, or not, I don't know. We each have our own cherished view of what is happening in real time. We are all probably right in one sense or another. But politics is not always about winning first place. It is about advancing one's name so people can get to know you. And it can be about setting oneself up for another prize such as a key agency position or other plum position. Halley is counting on Trump being disqualified from office in order to win. But she is a politician and knows a strong following in the GOP if she does not win will position her with strength for some other role in that administration. Ramaswamy has no chance to win and he knows it, not in this election at least. He is playing the long game and may hold a desire for some agency job under Trump. The rest.............pft! Again, my point in all this is not to destroy a person simply because he is running at the wrong time and in the wrong election. Ruining someone in our party for no benefit is counter productive. So until Mr. Trump is declared the nominee, perhaps we all need some restraint in candidate bashing. Remember 2021? 2022? 2023? 2024 is going to make those years and events seem mild by comparison and we need all the good people we can find.

Expand full comment

That's like choosing between cat turds, rat turds and cow turds for lunch. If we're that desperate, it time to find a new barrel to scrape.

Expand full comment

So what is your assessment of Mr. DeSantis? I am honestly interested in why so many chose to bash or ignore him. All I hear here is that he is a bad guy because he dared run against Trump. Doing so does not make him my enemy. He has things to bring to the table for the party and it makes no sense to trash him unless there is a factual basis to do so. He is no perfect conservative for sure but then neither is Trump. That person does not exist, never did. But Mr. Trump and Mr. DeSantis are light years closer to what we need in this country than anyone else running. They both have shown an ability to take on the heavyweights and win. And for the right reasons. I just don't see that as a bad thing.

Expand full comment

I'm with you on this one, Reddog--if for some reason Trump is taken out of the picture--we are really going to need DeSantis. DeSantis "is no Trump", but for several years as Florida governor he was the next closest to Trump we have. The Left is thrilled that they have tarnished DeSantis with Republican voters. Their being thrilled, should alert us to not fall into their trap and bash our best Plan B.

Though I did vote for Donald Trump Jr. in the poll-- because if Trump himself is still alive but just disqualified, he would still be the actual President behind the scenes. If Obama can do it, so can Trump.

I don't count on anyone telling Trump who to pick. But he is no fool either, and he has a lot of people advising him that we both see and never know about. He will wait until the right time to make a decision but I suspect he already has three people picked and will make the final decision based on polling at the opportune moment. Tghe choices are important too, as important as Mr. Trump himself. We all know his next term will be more of the same from the first and he will be limited as to what he can get done. It will be the person coming after him who will accomplish as much or more and that is a big deal indeed. I may be out there on this one but if the GOP doesn't start accomplishing something in the next year instead of talking about it, there could be some big surprises in congressional elections come 2024 that we are not going to like. If we don't keep the House and gain the Senate, just how much will Trump be able to accomplish? The GOP needs to get busy with something besides fundraising and tough talk.

I believe it goes deeper than that.

We have the benefit of a first term of DJT to measure against just the three years so far of Biden to expose in sharp relief the destruction and havoc FJB has wrought, and primarily for DISmantling all the accomplishments of PDJT!

For any candidate to claim to be running against FJB not to make that the center point of their campaign, the bright neon difference between the two administrations is dereliction of duty. DeSantis (most likely coached to do so), goes out of his way to AVOID giving the Trump administration ANY credit for - never even referencing - its stunning accomplishments that are too long to list here for Making America Great Again!

And as if that wasn’t bad enough, he goes so far as to bad mouth DJT!

So exactly what IS he offering if it’s not to proclaim how great we had it four short years ago by highlighting and pledging to restart the policies that Made America Great Again under Trump?

At the very least, it is clearly obvious and most glaringly that he is not “his own man”, regardless of his accomplishments as FL’s Governor. He’s exposed himself as a weak puppet for a cabal that does in no way have the best interests of the country in mind.

Tricky Nikki is not even hiding her Uniparty allegiance, and Vivek is a cipher to me - says all the seemingly right things but…something’s amiss there I can’t put my finger on.

It is Trump or we’re doomed, as it is clear we have no one on bench either to truly take up his mantle.

Expand full comment

Your comment is valid. But just for the sake of debate, what would you have Mr. DeSantis do when he is attacked daily, just roll over and take it? Seems to me we had a president like that a while back in GW Bush. I don't want another Bush nor another candidate like him just turning the other cheek. DeSantis didn't start it, Mr. Trump did. The petty comments he sometimes makes without thinking just annoy the hell out of me as they do a lot of voters. They are his Achilles heal in that regard. I am all-in for Trump if he is our nominee or not. But until we all see the final nominees in both party's, maybe we need to stop bashing the person who would be the nominee most likely if Trump wasn't it. Let's don't cut off our noses to spite our selves here.

If you mean he made some deal to run with the support of some backers, how the hell is that any different than any other politician who has ever run for office? Good grief, it takes a billion dollars in support to run for president today. Where do you think the money comes from? It isn't $5 contributions that get it done. Doesn't make it right either but that is our reality. Until I hear some actual verifiable facts regarding Mr. DeSantis, not going to change my mind. And I would note here that if anyone thinks there is any such thing as "the perfect conservative", I would just say they are fooling themselves. The person does not exist. Ike was a Democrat. Reagan was a Democrat. Trump has always leaned left on many issues and given heavily to the Dems. None would be considered perfect conservatives, yet they turned out to be great presidents.

Being a nothing is a relative term. Biden is a complete nothing for leaving a legacy of achievements to our quality of life, but that is not why he is there.

Biden's achievements are to steal our wealth through horrendous inflation and printing of money, erosion of all institutions that hold our society together including the family, schools/education, church, law enforcement, and traditional marriage.

Biden is the eraser on your No.2 pencil. He takes away and destroys. That's not nothing.

Absolutely the entire world is more broke and more dangerous than it has been in 80 years! I suppose you could call that an accomplishment if you were deranged and had murder / suicide as your motive.

Those who voted for DeSantis : Do your homework.

DeSantis was bought and paid for when he was in the House from 2012-2018; politicians play the long game, especially when the Magic One, from the Chicago Way, was setting up the country for complete destruction. When DeSantis was in Congress; he was about Globalism, it's in his voting record.

He resigned to run for Governor and got IT, (another bought and paid for run by the globalist billionaires...gotta have Florida in the bag), in 2019.

What you would get with DeSantis is just more Globalist Uni-Party doing what they do now. Republicans don't care if they win; they want $$'s!!! Democrats want Power and so they sell it the Rinos like DeSantis!

Every congress critter knew all about the Magic One and his Chicago Ways of winning through lying, cheating and stealing and they were fine with it because it was going to be the R's turn up at bat...

BUT.... They didn't figure on a Real Winner coming into play.

They never thought a billionaire businessman, TV Star (and I have never watched that reality show, because I hate the thought of reality shows), a guy who had funded most likely 90% of Congress at one time or another, would even think of giving up his rich life to crawl around the bottom of the sewer, in the sludge, with the likes of them.

Because if he did, then he would know what was really going on and well; he wouldn't like it one bit and would force an excavation the likes DC has never witnessed before.

But no one really knows Trump and he is, in most cases, underestimated, even though his life motto has always been "If you are going to dream, why not dream big?" "Impossible is just the starting point."

As Wilbur Ross consistently said during the campaign and even during his tenure in Trump's first Administration:

"Underestimate Donald J. Trump at your own peril."

Vivek is too young, and inexperienced but bright enough and talented enough to make a good showing now; he is demonstrating loyalty and respect to President Trump, which is a step in the right direction, politically. I expect that President Trump will have a place for him in his next Administration, IF Vivek stands up to the others bluster and keeps his word.

I'm not even going to touch on the ties he has to the WEF or his ties to pharma, because, look what's a guy to do? He's young, he's going to explore and learn and get the wins he can, whether we believe he is a globalist or bought and paid for by big pharma, really doesn't matter.

The only thing that matters with Vivek is: Is he really smart enough and patriotic enough to do what is in the best interests of the long-term goals of saving our Constitutional Republic from total destruction for generations to come.

We will know in good time just where Vivek is coming from through his actions.

There is NOBODY else who can save this Republic from the complete destruction of Globalism.

The 47th President MUST be President Donald John Trump

"He resigned to run for Governor and got IT, (another bought and paid for run by the globalist billionaires...gotta have Florida in the bag), in 2019."

Wrong. Trump himself said he got Gov. DeSantis elected in 2018. Are you calling Trump a liar?

Don, Hochul or Whitmere? Doesn't have to be a winner here. They are both losers and both are just as dangerous. But what's worse are the people who are voting for them. Seriously, those two women are borderline psyco's and incompetent, so what kind of scrutiny or vetting did they get during their election runs? That would be none.........zero. Why not? How do people rationalize voting for people like Biden, Hochul, Whitmere, Newsom, or Lujan Grisham over and over again when the result is always the same? I doubt it is a matter of ignorance in most cases, rather just disdain, laziness, and indifference. They just don't care who runs the country because they don't believe it matters. In the US, anywhere from 40%-60% of eligible voters are electing presidents. The rest of the population are too lazy to get informed and go vote. That's the true indictment of our country. Greatest country ever conceived, and yet almost half are just along for the ride. That's the real indicator of where we are today. Just saw a headline that said a federal watchdog had determined that last year the federal government made $236B in improper payments. Let that number sink in and then think about where that money came from and what it could have done had it been spent on the border problem. Mr. Biden will not say a word about it either because he doesn't care. The GOP will only use the info for fund raising. They don't really care either. Takes too much hard work and determination to fix it. Not part of their job description, their job is to get re-elected so they can fix things. (sarc) Yes, the bar has been lowered that far, America. We have a lot of work to do in America if we are going to change our course before the "final bills come due". So is President Zero and his lack of accomplishments really the problem? Almost half the country doesn't think so. Maybe we need to start asking ourselves why they feel that way.

Looks to me like you are over-thinking what has really been going on for many decades and being side-tracked by the daily show being played by the communists planning these play-by-play antics to sell their BS lies.

Bottom line: We haven't had fair and honest elections since 1993 when Clinton signed into law the National Voter Registration Act, otherwise known as "Motor-Voter" law..

That's when the cheating got a whole lot easier.

Add that to the date the states decided to buy "computers" to help ease the pain of counting those pesky paper ballots.

There's your sign.

I will agree with you that elections have become suspect and clearly tainted in some cases. But saying it all started in 1993 is too general for me to buy in. If you really believe that, where is the proof? Otherwise, it's just a theory. How do we know that is true? I too believe that there are far too many areas where corruption can find a hole in the present system, including the use of proprietary computers to count votes. Some states also foster a culture that ignores corruptions at the polls. So I have no argument with you in saying our election system is terribly flawed today. But Mr. Trumps problem has always been not that he said the election was stolen, but because he could not prove or show the country where or how it happened in a manner that was irrefutable. We have all seen the movies and videos and testimony that cast doubts on the validity of the election but it make no difference unless the judicial system can validate the facts. Too many broad and general statements were made immediately after the 2020 election that could not be substantiated by our side. So no, I am not overthinking anything here nor am I going to indict an entire election system simply because we have problems in some states, and I am not going to agree that all elections became suspect after 1993 either. But until we can validate that every vote is a legal vote, and every vote is counted, I will join you in saying that our election system has a big credibility problem. Mail-in and absentee ballots are currently our biggest vulnerability and the system needs to address it before it is too late.

Purple thumb method??

If it's accurate and works, yes. But I don't see why we can't come up with some type of vote reader that is not prone to corruption. Even the old optic readers that were not hooked into a computer were safer than what we use today. I don't need immediate results in any regard because I don't work for the networks. Count them by hand if that works but whatever it is, it needs to be credible and safe.

The answer might be that almost 50% of American citizens receive some sort of government assistance. And then there are the millions upon millions of illegals.

Yeah, for sure. I have said many times there is a solid reason politicians all want to see people stuffed into big cities, crowded or not. People in big cities are dependent people and they depend on government for more than rural people do. If you grow up in the big city and work there, it becomes your universe and you tend to overlook the problems associated with it to continue your universe. Just look at the West coast states and east coast states where a majority of the country lives. Antidotal for sure, but those states are all lefty for a reason.

Re: your poll question. I am of the opinion that nobody who seeks my vote deserves it, along the lines of the old joke by Groucho to the effect that he wouldn't want to join any club that wanted him to become a member. But I gotta say I am impressed with Ramaswami. He is Trump with a vocabulary. The fact that he roasted Little Nimranda at the last couple of debates is another feather in his cap, as far as I am concerned. She is by far the most dangerous republican candidate, mostly because she espouses the very things that I oppose, particularly endless wars, expanded government and unlimited immigration. That she sold out to a Chinese companies with CCP ties as governor ("In 2015, Haley ranked No. 1 among Republican governors in Chinese investment, when adjusted for GDP, bringing in over $565 million in Chinese investment for the year, according to Rhodium Group's Chinese investment tracker. Haley's administration oversaw $1.43 billion in Chinese investment into South Carolina, according to Rhodium Group, a nonpartisan research firm") while now pretending to be a proponent of anti-Chinese policies shows just how crooked and duplicitous she is. Well, it's still too early to tell how things are going to play out until next November. If Trump is still the candidate, he'll have my vote again, but if not...?
