The big news this week is Elon Musk retweeted a tweet by an account called “Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Press Release (parody).” The tweet said, “This might be the wine talking, but I’ve got a crush on Elon Musk.”
How dare he!
The parody account also tweeted, “Printing money is the only way out of inflation.”
And, “If Congress would've passed my 93 trillion dollar Green New Deal, inflation would be 0.00% right now.”
And, “If we don’t move to 100% green energy soon — car emissions will kill off the human race just like it did the Dinosaurs.”
And, “White people are literally holding our economy hostage by owning guns.”
And, “Cow farts are racist.”
The congresswoman who thinks she’s Evita eventually tweeted, “FYI there’s a fake account on here impersonating me and going viral. The Twitter CEO has engaged it, boosting visibility.
“It is releasing false policy statements and gaining spread.
“I am assessing with my team how to move forward. In the meantime, be careful of what you see.”
Um, it is clearly marked parody, but since she checks two boxes (female and Hispanic) she shall not be mocked.
Unless she were a conservative. Then it is open season.
Snopes swooped in to tell the world that a parody account’s tweets are a parody.
It said, “No, AOC Didn’t Say ‘Printing Money Is the Only Way Out of Inflation.’”
Snopes is fact-checking jokes. I await its declaration that the chicken did not cross the road and that Who really isn’t playing first base.
Politico — which never fact-checked RussiaGate — announced, “No, that isn’t the real AOC you may have seen on Twitter.
“An account impersonating the New York congresswoman cropped up over the weekend, going viral and catching the attention of Twitter’s owner and the lawmaker herself.”
Reuters routinely Fact Checks conservative jokes, hoaxes and mistakes — but never lefty ones such as the J6 insurrection (it was a protest).
Its fact check on the parody account said, “A tweet stemming from a parody account impersonating U.S. Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is being taken seriously by users online.”
Oh no. More damaging is lies about Trump spread by the media are taken seriously by millions of people.
The media was never alarmed about Trump parody accounts.
So why are the media wagons circling to protect AOC from jokes? Because the jokes are funny and they sting. Let’s look at the Rules for Radicals written by Saul Alinsky, a Chicago communist, 52 years ago.
Rule 5: “Ridicule is man's most potent weapon. There is no defense. It is almost impossible to counterattack ridicule. Also it infuriates the opposition, who then react to your advantage.”
It took conservatives a while but the Internet gives us the opportunity to point at liberals and laugh. They do not like it.
Back on my old blog, I wrote on October 26, 2019, “Why Babylon Bee is the most important conservative site.”
A few readers objected by email. The Bee is just a joke site, they argued. Blogs like mine are more important because they present facts.
Now they email me items from the Bee.
I wrote, “Originally, the site mocked the idiosyncrasies of churches. A March 12th, 2016, offering, ‘Man Lacking Food Contribution Expertly Infiltrates Church Potluck,’ had appeal to backsliders as well as evangelical housewives.
“And that continues. An April 16, 2019, offering, ‘Pastors Weigh In: Does Pineapple Belong On Pizza?’ was golden.
“It said, ‘Does pineapple belong on pizza?’
“Satan: ‘Yes.’”
“But the Bee’s wry political observations (which includes shots at conservatives) are brilliant and breath-taking commentary which earned occasional, frequent, and now daily links from Instapundit, often with the tag, ‘I’m so old, I can remember the Babylon Bee was still a satiric Website, before morphing into America’s Paper of Record.’
“A world where a jury ordered a father to accept the chemical castration of his 7-year-old boy does not deserve serious commentary. It deserves a punch in the nose and a sharking of its pants.”

The newspaper of record joke is a nod to the unsettling ability of the news parodying itself. What we ridiculed yesterday — a mustachioed fairy godmother at Disney — became the news today.
Seth Dillon, CEO of the Babylon Bee, told Fox, “The problem isn't that our satire is too close to reality. It’s that reality is too close to satire, so our jokes keep coming true.”
The Bee’s list of its prophecies — as it calls them — is long and unnerving.
On June 24, 2020, it joked, “New, Less Problematic History Books Will Only Include What Happened In The Current Year.”
40 days later, CNN reported, “Illinois community leaders want to abolish history lessons in schools.”
The response to the ridiculous coming true is not less ridicule but more because the only way to stop these communists from erasing our Republic is to mock them into oblivion. Make them mad. Make them whine. Make them cry all the way to their mothers.
Babylon Bee is still zinging conservatives and Christians. The list of all of Tuesday’s and Wednesday’s offerings were:
Study Finds Target Going Woke Has Gotten More Families Out Of Debt Than Dave Ramsey.
Local Man Sick Of Anti-Gun Protesters Showing Up Every Time He Wears A Tank Top.

None were fact checked because they are all obviously made up. Besides, the jokes did not poke fun at liberals.
But when Bud Light offered coupons to save its brand, Newsweek took umbrage with Babylon Bee writer Ashley St. Clair tweeting, “The Bud Light marketing team must still be all women if they think a coupon will get a man's attention.”
To her credit, she told Newsweek, “Never in my life have I seen a man use a coupon. They will literally make their own brewery before using a beer coupon.”
Oh and the marketing team was all-female.
Well, except for Dylan Mulvaney.
Meanwhile, the AOC parody site has declared victory after seeing this:
Mock ’em until it hurts. They deserve it.
Mocking liberals is low hanging fruit. There is so much material.
The Xiden administration is loaded with mockery targets. Maybe too many.
The mockery does need to increase exponentially.
What makes the mockery even more effective is that liberals have no, zero, zip, nada sense of humor. Their outrage is my joy.
Policymakers planning the demise of beef and pork industries in favor of crickets and mealworms deserve all the ridicule we can muster.
