Another week, another batch of lies from the left.
First up: The CDC announced, “Some groups are at greater risk for suicide.”
By greater risk, they mean more.
It said, “Veterans, people who live in rural areas, sexual and gender minorities, middle-aged adults, and tribal populations may disproportionately experience factors linked to suicide.”
The press went wild.
U.S. News reported, “Suicide Rates Have Risen Among People of Color. Whites were the only group to see a decline in suicide rate from 2018 to 2021, new data shows.”
Well, it is Black History Month so ’tis the season for victimhood, except white people are three times as likely to kill themselves than black people. U.S. News and other media outlets failed to report that fact.
White lives don’t matter. We have all that privilege. We should hurry up and die and let the people in the world we conquered take over. Mankind will be back in no time to living in caves with a life expectancy of 30.
Second item: Rahul Somvanshi of Karmactivism wrote, “SpaceX’s recent Super Heavy booster test, which saw 31 of the 33 engines ignite simultaneously in what might be the most powerful rocket ignition to date, had an unexpected outcome.
“Video footage showed a plume of birds fanning and falling out near the booster’s fiery trenches. The location of SpaceX’s Starbase campus in Boca Chica, Texas, is next to a wildlife refuge home to endangered species of birds, leading conservationists to argue that the company may be causing harm to the local wildlife.
“The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) had previously told SpaceX to make significant changes to its Starbase expansion plans in an environmental impact assessment, and is still awaiting approval before starship can launch.”
Meanwhile, Newsweek clutched its pearls and said, “Photos posted to social media show former Arizona gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake refusing to stand for the Black national anthem at the Super Bowl on Sunday.”
LOL.
There is no black national anthem. And saying there is one is as racist as capitalizing black while not capitalizing other letters.
I won’t go into the hypocrisy of canonizing a certain past-prime quarterback who refused to stand for the real national anthem because this is about lies, not duplicity. I may go into that some other time.
Next, the Pentagon is getting into the act. Generals backing transgendering and saying the biggest threat to the nation is white supremacy is not enough. Now generals are getting spacey.
Reuters reported, “The U.S. Air Force general overseeing North American airspace said on Sunday after a series of shoot-downs of unidentified objects that he would not rule out aliens or any other explanation yet, deferring to U.S. intelligence experts.
“Asked whether he had ruled out an extraterrestrial origin for three airborne objects shot down by U.S. warplanes in as many days, General Glen VanHerck said: ‘I'll let the intel community and the counterintelligence community figure that out. I haven't ruled out anything.’”
Not just any aliens.
Ancient aliens.
Next, wind turbines keep killing endangered birds. Lefties downplay that this jeopardizes some species.
The Associated Press reported on August 20, 2022, “Wind Energy Boom and Golden Eagles Collide in the U.S. West.”
Take a guess at who wins that battle.
AP waited until Paragraph 18 to get to that, saying, “Federal officials won't divulge how many eagles are reported killed by wind farms, saying it's sensitive law enforcement information. The recent criminal prosecution of a subsidiary of NextEra Energy, one of the largest U.S. renewable energy providers, offered a glimpse into the problem's scope.
“The company pleaded guilty to three counts of violating the Migratory Bird Treaty Act and was ordered to pay more than $8 million in fines and restitution after killing at least 150 eagles — including more than 100 goldens at wind farms in Wyoming, California, New Mexico, North Dakota, Colorado, Michigan, Arizona and Illinois.”
Paragraphs 25 and 26 said, “The number of wind turbines nationwide more than doubled over the past decade to almost 72,000, according to U.S. Geological Survey data, with development overlapping prime golden eagle territory in states including Wyoming, Montana, California, Washington and Oregon.
“USGS scientists concluded in a recent study that if anticipated growth in wind energy by 2040 occurs, increased turbine-caused deaths could cut golden eagle populations by almost half over 10 years.”
Those two paragraphs should have been the lead.
Oh, and about Karmactivism’s concern over the rockets’ red glare, a comment left pointed out the obvious: “Respectfully, no. Just no. This whole bird thing is completely wrong. Do you not realize where that camera was positioned?
“Nearly two miles away. The birds appear to be right next to the booster because of the lens compression of foreground and background.
“This is how long lenses work.
“Furthermore, look at the size of the birds compared to the launch tower — there is absolutely no way they are remotely close to the tower for the size that they appear. Even if they were as large as pelicans. They are far, far closer to the camera than the booster. There were some gulls mixed in, but the large flock of darker birds was mostly likely red winged blackbirds and grackles — look at eBird to see the common species that hang out there.
“The loud and sporadic venting of the GSE, launch table, and the booster itself would guarantee that there is no wildlife anywhere near. Furthermore the water/sound suppression system kicked in about 20-30 seconds before the booster fired — giving anything in the vicinity plenty of warning.”
By the way, wind turbines not only are killing rare birds but whales as well. The left denies this too.
CNN denied this in a January 20 story, “What’s killing whales off the Northeast coast. It’s not wind farm projects, experts say.”
The story cited Benjamin Laws, deputy chief for the permits and conservation division with the NOAA Fisheries Office of Protected Resources, who said, “There are no known connections between any of these offshore wind activities and any whale strandings, regardless of species.”
The story said, “Laws also said speculation that the sonar equipment wind companies use to map the ocean floor could have fatally harmed the whales has also not been proven. Officials noted the New Jersey wind energy project is prohibited from using levels of sonar so loud they could be fatal to whales or other marine life.”
That’s odd because three years ago that same agency announced, “Beaked Whale Strandings in the Mariana Archipelago May Be Associated with Sonar.”
Well, who needs eagles and whales anyway? We have a planet to save from mankind, so if a few species become extinct along the way, it is for the greater good. You have to break a few eggs to make an omelet and kill a few birds to get a KFC franchise.
Besides, wildlife is racist because animals won’t live in black neighborhoods.
Last month, the problem was racist paint as the New York Post reported, “Norwegian government funds research to find out if white paint is racist.”
This month, the problem is racist squirrels who refuse to live in black neighborhoods.
The Daily Mail reported, “Scientists claim that there are fewer wild animals in neighborhoods where mostly people of color live — and their absence is affecting residents’ mental health.
“A research study that looked into the genetic diversity of wildlife in neighborhoods across the United States found government rules that previously mandated separated neighborhoods based on race, is still having lingering after-effects on where animals choose to live decades on.
“The study suggests that areas where mostly white people live have a greater diversity when it come to animals living in the area.
“Areas with less diversity could also be having negative effects on both the mental and physical health of the people who live in such ‘deprived’ neighborhoods.
“The findings were published in Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, a peer-reviewed scientific journal.”
Peer-reviewed means Larry and Moe vouched for Curly after he vouched for them.
But systemic racism sells these days and as long as the government is handing out checks, researchers will find it.
My question is this: If squirrels and other wild creatures are so good for mental health, why are white people three times as likely to kill themselves than black people are?
Now for today’s Totally Scientific Poll.
If leftists didn’t lie, they would talk as much as Marcel Marceau.
I saw this statement in comments elsewhere regarding reparations. I agree wholeheartedly:
"I have not ever owned any slaves and you have not ever picked any cotton. I owe you nothing."
