Watched a little of his live testimony. Had to mute it. That guy should be in prison for what he did. The judicial system has to step up when lawfare is involved.

Greg's avatar

It's amazing but believable that the legal system does not police itself. The lawyers believe they know best. Arrogance.

John Swindall's avatar

And the lawyers who think they know are teaching in Macadamia law schools to complete the destruction of society.

Sometimes they/them feel like a nut

Most times they are.

The goal of lawfare is to make defensive actions financially crippling. We need to require that defendants found not guilty be reimbursed for 100% of their costs to include lost wages and community standing.

Smith is one evil human being. He has earned a prison term. Hope he gets solid Christian counseling and psychiatric help in the klink. Love the Absence of Malice reference! Praying we have at least one person in the AG office with that common sense.

N.Wallace's avatar

Agreed. "common sense". Most likely "fear" is a factor also. Here's some good advice from Paul, (for all of us): "God has not given us a sense of fear but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind." We're in year-two and still waiting for something to happen beyond some tough words from Congress.

Most are angry and tired of the DC show.

It's time to act like Democrats when it comes to prosecutions - on this and in Minnesota.

The midterms are coming and we need help.

Jake's avatar

Soon Grasshopper. The table is being set and the entre is coming shortly.

We don't need more finger-pointing yelling matches in a do-nothing Congress.

We need indictments and its been too long. Neither Congress or the judiciary are helping Trump. It's up to Bondi and Patel - the one branch Trump controls - to make progress.

Trump is doing the rule of law perfectly in Minnesota and is losing popularity as he attacks the #1 issue that got him elected. Perhaps YOU can explain that. Get these issues into court and off the daily news cycle that just confuse low-information voters.

Bondi had better have a good reason for her timing. And, it had better work.

I remain skeptical and hope I am proven wrong.

No's avatar

Instead of the drama, he should have used 8 USC 1324 to start at the top, arresting the CEO's of companies that employ the criminal invaders. A few high profile arrests like the CEO of Tyson would put a stop to anyone hiring them. Then they'd go home.

RevMikeyMac's avatar

Yes - this would make middle class, average Americans feel heard.

Shrugged's avatar

Amen. Aren't they all complicit in crime if they knowingly hire illegals? Every HR department has to complete an I-9 after personally viewing a Passport or other form of certified citizenship or employment status.

Sam Prentice's avatar

You are exactly right and I'm tired of being the skunk at the picnic. But the freaking Republicans need to actually join the war and push Trump's agenda. They won't even act like they give a crap! And I suspect they don't.

Marlan Hoerer's avatar

I fear the swamp is deadliest in the judicial division and this is precisely why creatures ala Boasberg rule the way they do.

Sam Prentice's avatar

Only three more years to get through for Thune et al to run out the clock on Trump. Thune is very proud of his accomplishments. No one else is, though.

No's avatar

You're probably right, but I didn't start noticing until about 86. Wasn't really pissed off til I realized Bush and Clinton were the same crime family.

steph_gray's avatar

Speaking of “until” - I always balance those long years of grievance against the single year PDJT has been in office.

He’s definitely setting the table. We’ve been ready forever, but normie indepents are barely catching on.

My guess is PDJT will time a crescendo of justice when it can really help seal the midterms.

Cookie McCall's avatar

from your lips to God's Ears, Steph!

No's avatar

He better hurry up. If the republicans lose the mid terms, we lose the country.

No's avatar

Considering it takes 6-7 months after indictment to start a trial, if there are no arrests by March, we're done. There has to be damning testimony against the ringleaders in order to bring the independents back to Trump in time for the elections. The ICE drama and the foreign policy nonsense won't do it. Despite his insistence, folks don't think the economy is doing well at all. Stats and facts don't matter, it's perception in the minds of the voters.

I'm as sick of being a one-trick pony as others are probably as well, but here we go again. And Jim Jordan was absolutely at his finest and doing what he does best (err, well, all he does well) is showboat and grandstand. I have seen Jim Jordan in one hearing after another hearing for well over a decade. Has there ever been a result from one of his hearings? I hate to single just Jordan out because there are plenty more just as useless as he is. Brandon Gill is the bright, shining, exception. Megyn Kelly calls him a political assassin because of his calm, methodical manner in which he vivisects his target alive. He is Dinesh D'Souza's son-in-law so their holiday dinners much be pretty interesting.

TeaPartyGal's avatar

Jim Jordan has single handedly brought many things to the national public attention, which is alot more than most of the other Congresspeople have done. Yes, we'd have liked to see it go further, but he has had precious little cooperation from his colleagues.

Also, he must be exhausted at this point, as he must be one of the most frustrated Americans on our side. I don't know how he's hung in there all this time, but I'm glad he has. His day to truly shine may still be ahead.

Congressional hearings are a waste of our time and we should strongly object to them using their time for such nonsense. It goes nowhere unless you are a Democrat who put Peter Navarro and Steve Bannon in prison. We'll see how that proceeds with Hill and Bill.

Congress has a job to LEGISLATE not educate. I don't need a cheer leader. I need a warrior.

Where are the laws we need to secure our elections Jim Jordan? You're a little late on that since our mid terms are 9 months away and we haven't done enough to stop the rampant cheating.

MAGA has 9 months to succeed or be dealt a death blow.

TeaPartyGal's avatar

You are very focused on the weaknesses threatening MAGA, but there are gigantic weaknesses threatening the Left as well. They are staggering under death blows already. These gigantic national fraud revelations could well bury them. It is not an automatic or at all clear who will prevail in November.

TishalaFaye's avatar

Want to say agree, however, as a state worker I see dang near every day people turning a blind eye to the very type of thing that SHOULD bury the Dems for the next 2 decades. Too busy trying to ensure safe spaces, correct(?) speech, building their brand for their next step up in the governmental hierarchy and on and on and on.

Problem is the federal judiciary is so rotten to the core that Smith will be protected from the bench unless the venue, judicial pool, and appellate chain are carefully considered. Otherwise any Bush, Clinton, Bush, Obama, or Biden appointee will make it go away.

As we learned with Amy Barrett, the Federalist Society let us down evaluating these judges all these decades, and even many Republican appointees can’t be trusted.

I’d like to see Trump’s DoJ enforce audits to get true random judge selection for cases. Very remarkable how the exact same judges get selected in certain circuits for anything Trump.

The failure of Speaker Johnson to get impeachments of the worst bench actors in this climate is a testament to his inadequacy to the moment.

No's avatar

They didn't let us down, they did their job. They sabotaged us.

N.Wallace's avatar

Exactly, CB. Another problem is that cowardice doesn't show up until the pressure is on. Then it seems everybody's got something on everybody. Chain reactions everywhere. A regular fraternity of snakes. God help us. Again, please.

It was a pretty good hearing and the Republicans were locked and loaded.

As to whether any of these corrupt villains ever sees the inside of a courtroom, much less a jail cell, well, I’ve just wrapped that prayer up and given it over to the Lord, His will be done - with a little personal note attached expressing how refreshing it would be to see justice prevail and wrongdoers jailed…for a change.

The corruption in our government and the ability of those chosen by the people to, literally, steal billions of dollars from those same people, should, and in my case does, make the American people so angry that if they spit on the grass it would die. I know we need to dismantle the education system, but the systematic erosion of our state and federal congresses by corrupt politicians who line their pockets with our money is completely reprehensible. "Follow the money", build more prisons, and put the Chucks, the Nancys, the Baracks, and the Bidens in them. They are guilty of trying to destroy the greatest nation the world has seen to date. Thank God for President Trump and his staff.

Steve (recovering lawyer)'s avatar

Accusing Smith of being the force behind the lawfare against Trump is like accusing the gun of being the murderer in a homicide case. Smith, like the gun used to perpetrate the murder, was merely a tool. (I use that in both the technical and colloquial sense.) He was the tool chosen by the obama cabal that had taken over the democrat party machine to destroy Donald Trup, the legitimately chosen presidential candidate of the opposition party. And why was Smith chosen? Because he had previously demonstrated a willingness to be a tool in the hands of his political masters--remember he rose to prominence under Eric "obama wingman" Holder, another famously corrupt and partisan legal tool. It is satisfying to hear the litany of his abuses read out into the public record, but what of it? He will suffer no further consequences beyond a public embarassment, which will have no effect on him because he has no shame. Remember that after the clintons brought their corruption to the party apparatus, which was already dominated by leftist ideology, it created the perfect storm; anti-American leftist political theory and utter amorality joined as a unitary force. Thus, we have the present situation where the most self-evidently corrupt politicians claim to be the paragons of morality! They have assumed the sheep's clothing in order to hide their rapacious wolf's heart. Their only goal is to kill, steal and destroy. Do you recall who else's goal is to steal, kill and destroy? Allow me to be of help. Read the Book of John, Chapter 10, verse 10.

“The whole thing was a Democrat SCAM—A big price should be paid by them for what they have put our Country through!”

There will be no price to pay since our judiciary is populated by the same kind of Marxists that infect Washington, d.c. and New York City and state. Additionally any trial held in either of those venues or other blue cities or states will have juries that will NOT convict any democrats.

Jake's avatar

Pam Bondi still has about 70 US attorneys not approved by Sen GrASSley’s Sen Judiciary Committee - the one where Clarence Thomas had his ‘Hi-Tech’ Lynching in front of Sen ‘plugs’ Joe Biden.

Grassley’s Cmte reminds me of (recollected by a good search AI) King George’s Privy Council chambers w The Cockpit - the site of Benjamin Franklin’s public humiliation on January 29, 1774, a turning point in his life and in the path toward American independence. Franklin, then a loyal British subject and agent for Massachusetts, appeared before the Privy Council to defend a petition to remove unpopular colonial governors, Thomas Hutchinson (whose house Sam Adams rioters stripped bare) and Andrew Oliver. Instead, Solicitor General Alexander Wedderburn launched a two-hour tirade against Franklin, accusing him of treason, espionage, and inciting rebellion.

They relieved (Franklin) him of his post of Postmaster General of the colonies. - Franklin had turned it from losing ££ to a profit….a feat unequalled to this day….250 years ago, w/o AI & computers, electricity-he discovered, using the Gulfstream-he discovered/observed, using Kinkos of the day-Franklin & Hall-which he created franchises, allowing him to retire at 42 and pursue other scientific interests….
