No matter what the outcome, the Mullahs will not have nuclear weapons to hold the world hostage! Only DJT had and has the courage to remove such a scourge that the past five Presidents essentially hoped that the next guy would take care of it. How fortunate we and indeed the rest of the world is to have such a force of nature as our current President!

Damn the torpedoes's avatar

PDJT believes what Ike did-that the buck truly stopped with him. Hard decisions come with the Resolute Desk.

darrell's avatar

If we make it through this it might be well to work on getting nukes out of all arsenals. The Iranians were working to get nukes because Israel has them and Israel is already threatening to use them (unless the garbage we now call news is lying.) Remember Pakistan? Although their make up is Sunni muslims they have a cache of nukes. As Winnie Pooh says, "Oh bother".

It seems like everyday I wake up and think what an amazing time to be alive! To see our President deliver head-spinning beat-downs to our enemies, to the lame MSM, to all of the “experts” who have ruled our lives, to lame allies who have to be forced into support, and to the terrorists of the world. And to the organizers and perpetrators of so much evil—Obama & his cretins Comey, Brennan, Clapper, Hilary, Nancy, Chuck, & Schiff. Revenge against that crew promises to be sweet if the South Florida grand jury produces the goods. And Columbus resurrected! Sanity returns. And yes Don, they hate him bc he brought Christianity to America.

Dittos!!!!! It is not only wonderful to be alive in the greatest time and nation that has ever been, but to be able to be aware of that state of being and savor it. Our Donald J. Trump is like no other personal force in modern history. God apparently spared him in Butler for a larger purpose.

Those "cute little isolated plot twists" look likely to bring about the thing beauty pageant contestants have been prettily wishing for at least a century.

And yes, the Abraham Accords were the planned foundation.

I remember in PDJT's first term, the words Peace Is the Prize.

It could happen.

Retirednottired's avatar

Let us not forget, if we lose one or both houses of Congress, all this progress could go away, as Dems spend all their time and effort Impeaching Trump, while simultaneously pushing for 25th Amendment removal. Trump has worked wonders internationally, and domestic affairs are moving well, but remember how quickly the Biden Regime destroyed America at home and the world at large. EVERYBODY. MUST. VOTE!!

NNTX's avatar

Yes! And we should use the opportunity among friends and acquaintances to counter the non stop propaganda from MSM and the Left (same thing, clearly). It is unbelievable how effective they are in convincing those not paying attention that everything is the fault of the Republicans and Trump.

There is one truth we can be certain of that has been made completely clear from the Iran war: the democrats and their leftist media lapdogs are the enemies of America. They cannot be reasoned with because they are as rabidly insane as the shia muslims in Iran. We cannot afford the danger of trying to live with them. They have made it clear they want to kill us. We have to eliminate them. Permanently.

Dems stepped on a rake again on the ICE in airports issue. Lines and down and people are happy. No protestors of ICE visible. People of all political persuasions are taking notice.

Suzie's avatar

It’s all sooo ironic! Here the Dems shut down the government because they hate ICE, resulting in travel nightmares, and who comes to the rescue? ICE!! HAH! Couldn’t have made that up! 🤣

Sam Prentice's avatar

And what is so special is the way the Dems and media are losing their minds over ICE being used because as Tom Homan calmly and sanely pointed out "ICE and CBP are at our airports because they've always been at our airports which serve as de facto borders!" Freaking talking headless chickens, running around in circles and banging against the walls.

I'm in academia, surrounded by Good White People™ who consider themselves to be intellectually and morally elite (which is quite amusing when you think about it, considering how ignorant and vain they are).

The reason they hate Columbus, they would tell you, is that he was the apex Oppressor™ (bad white person) who did atrocious things to the innocent natives (Victims™). And academics, of course, are the holiest humans of all (Saviors™).

Academics derive their social status from being superior to us oppressors and also superior to all the little darkies, who require their condescending beneficence (that mostly consists of yard signs and DEI).

That Columbus brought Christianity to America is a significant intensifier of his inherent evilness as the original Oppressor™.

steph_gray's avatar

You nailed 'em.

(I've lived amongst the breed for my whole life so I know!)

Jerry from Chicago's avatar

Yes, well said. You have described exactly my assessment of them. Basically good people with a superiority complex.

Shoveltusker's avatar

Some are good people, some are not. A few are close friends of mine. A huge deficiency for all of them is epistemic closure. They simply lack awareness of anything that the NYT decides to not cover, they interpret NYT spin as truth, and they are all oikophobes.

BH's avatar

Your first assessment-golden. I chuckled, a lot, throughout.

This second comment required some research as “epistemic closure” was something I’d never come across. Thanks for expanding my vocab/knowledge.

It has always been a mystery to me as to why certain people continue to live (and enjoy all this country has to offer) and “hate on” it. Is it guilt? What?? Do you ever see these colleagues of yours volunteering or engaging in community service to others less fortunate? You know…beyond their academic paycheck?

Suzie's avatar

That phenomenon can be likened to the spoiled rich kid: they get to bask in all the wealth, privileged perks and plenty their parents lavish upon them, while at the same time they bark at them for being capitalist oppressor swine.

They fail to realize in their blinded zeal, and some are utterly immune and/or wholly ignorant to the historically borne out reality that if they get what they proclaim to want their lives will instantly become a daily misery.

Suzie's avatar

P.S. nowhere can this be more clearly illustrated than by the looney lefties who just travelled, first class mind you, to Cuba, stayed in a purported “5 star” hotel, one wearing shades that cost him over $1500, while using the scant electricity available on the island to juke and jerk, while hospital ventilators got shut down, paint a mural on a wall, all while proclaiming to the Cuban people how much they should love and appreciate the wonderful government they live under, and then all jet back to their plush homes, heat, ac, fully stocked refrigerators and go shopping on Rodeo Drive.

“There are none so blind as those who REFUSE to see.”

Marlan Hoerer's avatar

Would these be Privileged Assholes Suzie ?

Wim de Vriend's avatar

When I was still living in Holland, I met a lot of American travelers who were so enamored of their new environment, some even made themselves ridiculous by clomping around everywhere in wooden shoes. The majority were students and/or people of that age; and I suspect most have gone on to academic careers which enabled them to continue denigrating their own country, which had given them all they had.

Shoveltusker's avatar

From what I can see among the peers whom I know well enough to make this observation: their volunteering and donating are typically focused on political things. They will drive 30 miles to participate in a "No Kings" demonstration, and donate to political campaigns. Maybe some make charitable non-political donations, IDK. Maybe the lefty cat ladies donate to animal shelters?

The only lefty colleague who I know who transcends politics in her volunteer efforts and financial support is a woman who is both a beloved friend of mine, and also a member of my church. In fact, she invited me to this church. BTW it is not a "political" church in any sense (there are definitely some political churches hereabouts).

She's the exceptional lefty: not hateful, not endlessly preoccupied with partisan politics. Also, she has three young children. She projects love and joyfulness, where too many of her fellow lefties project hatred, sourness, and bitterness. Trump broke them, I guess. But even beyond Trump, they just hate and fear Republicans. They are extremely tribal.

Stephen Wolf's avatar

You need to tell your lefty friend that you can't be a Christian and then vote for the people who are against everything Christians morally believe. Beware the mask might come off as light and darkness cannot exist together.

Playswithneedles's avatar

The Euroweenies should love Columbus - he took chocolate and tomatoes back to the Old World when he returned. Neither were indigenous to Europe.

Damn the torpedoes's avatar

So, marinara should really be Amerimarinara?

darrell's avatar

Well after all they are the scientist of social-ism. They are the ones schooled in how to fix social problems. They mean well and are truly not hateful people. They have just forgotten one thing. God has already solved that problem and He gets in their way of "fixing it". So as citizens of this great Constitutional Republic we have to pick sides. I'm going with the Church even as messy as it is right now. The other side has no epistemological foundation.

Playswithneedles's avatar

If you think they’re bad, you should spend some time in the American Diplomatic Corps. The State Department is filled with exactly the same kind of people, but they spread their beneficence on a worldwide basis.

Wim de Vriend's avatar

Unfortunately -- and I hate to admit it -- not all that Columbus brought to the New World was positive and humane and edifying. A contemporary of Columbus by the name of Bartolomé de las Casas, a 16th-century Spanish priest and eyewitness, wrote the influential book "A Short Account of the Destruction of the Indies" in 1552. He documented the brutal treatment, massacres, and slavery of indigenous people by Spanish colonists in the West Indies and the Americas. So there were reasons why the islands in the West Indies had hardly any indigenous survivors ...

Shoveltusker's avatar

Indeed. There's no need to whitewash what Columbus and many other colonizers did to the indigenous people they encountered, and for sure this history was whitewashed during my school years. It's interesting and useful information.

However in my view it's a sort of self-regarding "presentism" to base contemporary politics on conquests of 500 years ago. As always, I ask "cui bono?" Who benefits from overlooking the effects of civilization to focus on the dehumanization of an earlier age? Primitive cultures that occupy valuable territory have always been displaced (and worse) by conquerors with superior weaponry. Those conquered people are long-dead, just as Columbus is. And their primitive culture was never going to survive, let alone be restored.

The only people who benefit in any way are those alive today claiming moral superiority, or possibly those building an academic or literary career designed to incite moral outrage and condemnation. And the entire American culture suffers from the tribal hatreds stoked by those who sacrifice historical perspective for self-righteousness.

While shining the light on Columbus atrocities, we should also acknowledge the cultural evolution of America and the West, where brutal conquest and the institution of slavery are long-gone.

Damn the torpedoes's avatar

Liberals have long denied the conquest aspect of human nature, even as they enlist every effort, violent and non, to conquer their perceived enemies, who unfortunately, are us. Just as they shame Columbus, they overlook the pograms of Lenin and Marx.

Don, you should take a listen to Mahyar Tousi (he runs a news service called Tousi TV out of the UK but has contacts in Iran). He claims Trump is not talking to anyone in Iran but instead said that he was in talks order to pit the remaining Iranians against one another. He bases this on the fact that many of those who remain are busy saying "not me!" very vehemently, out of fear they will be killed for disloyalty. This was in his livestream yesterday.

Don Surber's avatar

That too makes sense

David Thompson's avatar

Also, I do not believe the Iranians sent missiles flying wild into all the neighboring countries because they had no command structure. I believe their plan all along has been to destroy the western economy by blocking oil delivery (causing stagflation if they can get oil prices to $500/barrel). The attacks on other countries were largely on oil infrastructure and missile defense radar (but also hit civilian areas because their missiles are not accurate or reliable). And they may still succeed, though obviously at a great cost to themselves and the majority of the Iranian population – which reviles them.

I've become so disenchanted with "news" I haven't been able to watch any for the past week. I can't take their endless regurgitation of all of the information they aren't sure about but will tell us anyway. I realized that if my intent is to acquire reliable and factual information about current events that I'm not going to find it in the recycled newscasts. You have to wait several days for actual facts to become clear.

John Carter's avatar

Well put. It is easy to come down hard on modern day news purveyors, but they most likely have reached where they are through hard work discipline and maintaining a stable of "sources." There is a sea change in that environment, not dis-similar to what happened during Watergate. Some of those sources are no longer privy to powerful people with security clearances. It is fascinating to watch, but a bit wobbly for sure.

Iran no longer has a centralized system of leadership/government. However, this is actually by design; it is part of their strategic plan of resistance, known as "Mosaic." The top Iranians always thought that at some point, the Western Nations (i.e., America and Israel, the "Big Satan" and "Little Satan") might no longer be willing to abide by Iran's increasingly dangerous and provocative activities, including building a nuclear arsenal along with the means to deploy it at distance while supporting and financing every islamist terror group on the face of the globe. Thus, while it continued to pursue its goal of nuclear blackmail (all the while denying that it was doing so, understanding that this would find a receptive audience in the media outlets in The West) it developed an alternative strategy that it believed would enable it to survive in some form should military action be undertaken against it. It has been implementing that "Mosaic" strategy ever since the American/Israeli military action began. This is actually the opposite strategy of what Germany under Hitler did, which was to concentrate all power in the smaller and smaller circle of leadership that was centered on der Fuehrer. Hypothetically, had The Allies been successful in assassinating Hitler, the war would have come to a sudden end. Recall that this was the goal of the conspirators under von Staffenburg, who intended to take over the reins of German government after eliminating Hitler and immediately declare an end to hostilities by means of a negotiated peace agreement. Contrariwise, we see that Iran remains capable, albeit on a more and more constrained fashion of conducting continuing offensive moves against those it perceives as its enemies. Of course, continued attrition of its war-making capabilities, its stockpiles of weapons and its financial resources is having the desired effect. This was something that was planned well in advance by American and Israeli military analysists, who "war gamed" what we are witnessing now; a decapitation strategy against anyone who stepped up to assume "leadership," coupled with concurrently destroying Iran's military capabilities, its finances and its proxies. Iran's actions have been undertaken and implemented by a more and more fragmented "leadership," with the result that it no longer has anyone who has the power to determine a national course of action, each "cell" in the "mosaic" being left to its own devices. It is not clear that there is any single person or group currently able to "make a deal" despite what The President may say. But as long as President Trump and his supporters continue to both strike at the remaining Iranian infrastructure, degrade its offensive capabilities, hamsting its finances, its proxies while negotiating with such "leadership" as it has, a successful outcome is possible. Perhaps not guaranteed, but possible. For this, we can be eternally grateful that there were and are patriotic Americans in our military and intelligence services and that our President had the fortitude and intelligence to move forward with the long-overdue response to Iran's continuing and increasing threat to our country and way of life.

Our gov’t. sent an uncle and aunt to Bangladesh and Yemen for several years in the ‘80’s to teach farming methods and to teach English. They were treated very well by the powers that be in those countries but they still needed plenty of security. My aunt said at some point she was invited to a ladies party and was shocked to see every woman in spiked heels and fabulous gowns - like Las Vegas dancers, barely covering their “assets”. This was a “petting” party she soon realized so she got out asap. Ever since hearing about that I’ve never believed that iz laam thinks homosexuality is a sin. Wouldn’t surprise me if most all of them participate in it for who knows what reasons. I also worked in the early 2000’s with a younger woman from Yemen. She proudly showed pictures to me of a recent large family gathering - all women wearing the same thing as far as the expensive hooker style gowns and heels. Maybe just showing off their wealth. 🤷🏼

The Islamic powers that be are like the Democrats: Rules for thee, but not for me.

There a video in X recently of some Iranian higher-up’s daughter’s wedding and looked as grand and opulent as one held at the Ritz Carlton. The bride was wearing a strapless gown, hair and makeup impeccably done up, looking like a model from a fashion magazine.

Also read that many of the wives of their higher ups often travel to places like Paris and London on shopping sprees, and many of their family members and children even go to school and work in plumb jobs in the US. And many of the extra-curricular activities of the men in high places involve young boys and children.

One thing’s for sure: they definitely aren’t all that which they claim to be, yet forcefully require their people to be.
