I voted for building a Moat. Actually a deep water canal from the Pacific to the Gulf of Mexico. It should be able to handle large super large cargo ships and US Naval vessels. 2 miles inside the US border. Just think of the economic benefits. All that Chinese junk won't have to be unloaded in California. And no longer dependent on the Panama Canal that Jimmy Carter gave away to the Chinese
Don’t we already have a moat down there called the Rio Grande? Rather than build a new one, instead of buoys, we should fill it with mines like we’ve done in important harbors in major conflicts for a couple of centuries. Attach the mines to tripwires and, after the first one goes off, there will be no one else trying to wade across the entire length of the river.

Nope for economic benefits has started in the pacific and go to the gulf. 2 miles from the border allows a DMZ type zone. Allow two way traffic and only unload on the US side. No stops in california. They still have their ports.

The problem with Abbotts actions is that other than making the lefty towns suffer too and exposing them as hypocrites, it does nothing to fix the issue. America was always a melting-pot as the saying goes, but that assumed a graduated immigration policy that allowed them to be assimilated into the culture. I reject the premise that our immigrations system is broken. It isn't, it is just archaic. It was never designed to handle the number of people trying to enter this country today. We cannot be the dumping ground for people fleeing bad governments at home. Today, the invasion is forced upon a populace that cannot absorb nor afford them. It's by design obviously. Sanctuary states and cities assume their lefty friends in the government will at some point bail them out of the added cost of taking these people as the feds have done previously with corrupt spending bills that have nothing to do with their titles. But the bigger issue is one of rule of law. The federal government under lefty control has simply ignored the laws and unintended results of doing so in order to flood this country with cheap labor and eventually left leaning voters thru amnesty. If you can flood the country with an impoverished class of people, and make them voters, you can maintain your control of power forever. There is no way to fix this at present because the GOP has too many issues facing it to spend the time to fix it. They can't even muster the votes to oust a corrupt Homeland Security Director and his corrupt Immigration operations. Everything that is happening is unsustainable in an already weakened America, and yet no one other than Mr. Trump is willing to aggressively fix it. The result, if not fixed, will be our country's suicide at the hands of our elected officials. We are going to find out if the American people are going to fix this, or they are going to let the inevitable finish off our way of life. In a way, what is happening to Israel is somewhat comparable to what is happening here. In Israel, the threat is from Hamas and Islam and western ignorance. In America, the biggest threat is from our own out of control government and a citizenry that is too busy to pay attention. I applaud Mr. Abbott's actions as well as those of Mr. DeSantis, but it does nothing to fix the core problem. We don't need gimmicks. We need solutions founded in the Constitution and rule of law.
