Paul was right. Every day at 12:15 I "stood by for NEWS!" At 3:30 I heard "The Rest of the Story" I stopped what I was dong and listened practically every day.

One of the hardest parts is watching how God allows the devil to confound our efforts to fix the immediate problem. The "red wave" is a great example of that. People point fingers at Trump, but he is not the problem. The problem is our lack of faith.

Expand full comment

It is not about our faith. It is about his will.

John 3:16-17  “For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. 17  God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him.

God's will is that NO Man shall parish, but come to a saving knowledge of his son. His will is to show all men not to trust in men but in Jesus Christ. Some like myself are a little slower to understand. But those that have come to trust in Jesus, he says trust me in the storms and trials, I will accomplish my will and NONE will thwart it. The end times will be difficult but God will accomplish his purpose. He will show himself righteous as he gives people over to the desires of their hears and evils pours forth out of the hearts of men. Our job is to deny ourselves daily take up our cross, dying to those desires, and follow God and live to him in his power. Only God can keep us. Apart from him I can do nothing.

I sure hope so.

I'm not doubting you, however what evidence is there of this revival? I premise this question with the fact that I currently live in NM (but not for much longer). As blue and Lucifer controlled as it gets.

Romans 8:24b-25

Now hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for what he sees? But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience.

My hope is from the promise of God that he will save a remnant – which he has done for Abraham, whose branch he has grafted us onto.

As far as leaving NM, I certainly understand the sentiment, but my experience is that there is nowhere to run to. God is testing us all, not just a state here or there.

Surber turned on Trump the other day….and then issued a mea culpa when his Trump rejection blew up in his face. Surber may have forgotten that God doesn’t send us perfect men…just men who are perfect for the job. And that man for this job is Donald J. Trump. #MAGA

There is simply no defense for a person of your practical wisdom to be taking the position that there is anybody else who is capable of setting the stage for our revival. Don’t suggest that DeSantis is anything close to what Civilization requires as we peer down into the abyss. It’s unbecoming of a person as astute as yourself to be making such a fatuous claim

Indeed, the devil is a pot stirrer. I see him as the original psychopath. He knows he can't win but he still thinks he can. At the very least he strives to take as many with him as he can. Good thing God always keeps a remnant.

I subscribed to your substack because I see you are getting a lot of push back because you dared to say what many are thinking. If it is any comfort I was slammed for daring to wonder if perhaps Trump is not our savior. Yes, he did some good things, he is, after all, a shrewd business man. I voted for him twice. But frankly, what choice did I have? I can't do the idol worship thing. But as smart as he is, ego not withstanding, he listened to and trusted the wrong people and I am not sure he would do differently if given another chance. There are a LOT of wrong people in powerful places in DC.

At this point, I am just listening, obeying and trusting the still small voice paying attention to the instructions on what to do [or not do] next. Good day.

You sunshine soldiers only have my contempt.

Expand full comment

I guess you missed the part about me voting for Trump twice. Are you saying I am contemptible because I don't worship him as though he is the next Christ?

I just can't do the hero worship thing. All humans are flawed, some more, some less. Since I cast my first vote in 1968 at age 21 I can think of only a handful of politicians I thought were who and what they said they were and that I believed they had the welfare of the American people in mind. The rest I cast my vote not for someone but against the opponent. Thus I voted for Trump twice, not because I thought he was the hero we needed, but because I knew he was a better choice than Hitlery or Biden and I even dared hope he might be able to stop the bleeding.

I totally agree he did some very good things and, if nothing else, he exposed the cesspool that is DC. But he made bad choices too and the biggest of those was listening and trusting the wrong people. Not to mention he has self control issues. I do not have to respect that. I do not, at this point, believe that this could change. I'm sick of narcissists and the "I did this" ego trippers. I would tell him that to his face. Would he care? Not hardly. I'm just a registered voter.

In the past, when there was a sort of balance between the good and the bad, we floated above the surface, though precariously. But now there's too many holes in the ship that the slow growing rot has caused. We are sinking and I see clearly that we were too busy being prosperous, living our good lives, trusting the veneer we could see so we ignored all the irreparable damage being done underneath. The balance has shifted. Putting on another layer of veneer isn't going to help.

I have no idea if DeSantis would do a better job. I think Florida needs him. So many blue voters fleeing to Florida from the states that they ruined and don't know why.

The big picture, for me, is that we aren't going to make it without serious repentance and that means great change and not for the better without Divine Intervention. If Trump gets the GOP nod for 2024, if we even have an election, I'll vote for him again. Isn't that what matters?

We have been fundamentally, possibly irreparably altered and whereas I know this is because of many evil things put in place decades ago by satan and his minions, I see no hero coming to rescue us because we probably don't deserve it.

History repeats because humans cannot change. What we are watching, unfold, with eyes like deer in the headlights, is global and not confined to America. Which says to me this is bigger than one man can fix.

I also voted in 1968 because Nixon said he would get us out of Nam. I was sitting in the barracks praying he would get us out. Didnt work out. I voted pragmatically and selfishly. Pretty normal response. I also voted twice for President Trump for many reasons, summed up as MAGA principles because they aligned with my principles.

Not looking for heroes to worship but I do admire and take note of people with grit/guts/balls, whatever applies.

My point is guys like surber and others waffle when the going gets tough. And they can express that waffling. But if waffling comes when determined efforts and operations are required, I will call out that waffling and assign any level of contempt I wish. And the older I get I'm confirmed that" the more people I meet, the better I like my dogs". And love the good Lord more.

Sad to say, our nation is following the globalist agenda and those actors are not giving an inch. Which brings my thoughts back to needed and relentless efforts and operations to MAGA principles and the many men and woman required in it's service.

Usually I just tell wafflers to GFY, but since we are not face to face I will refrain and respect your thoughtful response. Be as well as you can be.

I voted for Nixon because I, too, wanted the war over. As young as I was, I could see it was a farce and many of my contemporaries were dying for nothing. I will never get over how the troops were vilified, as though the war was their fault, and they were transported home in the dark of night. I think Nam was the first red flag for me in terms of being highly suspicious of anything to do with government.

I can't say I know what waffling is when it comes to something as important as our way of life being threatened. I have always been a free thinking outlier. I ask a lot of questions. I admit I may have higher standards for those who are elevated to positions of influence and power and that includes all forms of government as well as religion. Maverick that I am I chose a personal relationship with Christ over man made doctrine.

Being a fierce proponent of the 1st amendment I have no issues with Don Surber or anyone being allowed to call out questionable behavior, especially in those who are supposed to stand for high standards.

You have no idea who I am and, in kind I don't know you. But I can invite you to see more of what I stand for. Or not - your call.

I totally agree. We, in the West, enjoyed the prosperous years without paying close attention to the warning signs of societal decay. We older folks didn't realize how those younger than us were being turned away from the truths that matter. Now we are shocked to find that they really don't support the views we thought we were teaching them.

The real tragedy of this nonsense of gender is that it distracts from education.

I have long felt that these behaviors are actually for distracting teachers from lazy learning performance. Technical education typically humbles students. Liberal arts education seems to do the opposite. At the end of the day we in the modern world are desiring more high tech goods and services. In effect we need more smart mature technical people making smart phones and complex systems that connect to them. I don’t know what gender has to do with the very real tech future. But I’ve noticed that people who worry about proper pronouns and misgendering can’t seem to fix my smart phone or explain how it operates.

The real tragedy is the future is coming fast. So fast that I’m afraid these misguided young people will not recover from time spent learning absurd fad names when they should be learning foundational skills for the future.

I don't think God has the same opinion of death that we do, because it is not permanent as far as He's concerned. And 100 tough years is nothing compared to eternal life. In terms of suffering, the best answer I've found in the Bible is Ezekiel 20:23-26, which ends with "I did it that they might know that I am the Lord" – meaning that he allows suffering in order to teach us what the alternative to life with Him is like.
