Didn't know who Amber Rose was and frankly don't care. Her speech was fabulous. And a pretty girl. And BTW, if Dems are so concerned for the little guys, the black community and the poor why is it political conservatives give significantly more in their charitable giving than liberals? Is it just because libs like to give away other peoples monies but not their own?

Expand full comment

You nailed it - other people’s money. My brother is a lib. He once described himself as socially liberal but fiscally conservative. (He’s a multi-millionaire who made a fortune in the stock market.). When he said that, I replied, “Oh, so you want there to be safety net for the needy, you just don’t want to pay for it yourself.” Dead silence followed.

I hope your Christmas/Thanksgiving gathering went well that year . . . .

Great comeback by the way. I might just have to borrow it as it is a common way rich people play both sides without socially offending anyone. You know, it's all about mastering social graces even if it is fake.

Yep, tax the rich, and rich jeans anyone who makes or has mire than me. And someone else should provide me with healthcare, housing and everything else at prices I approve of, or they’re greedy. My job is to complain about everything the grownups haven’t fixed to my satisfaction.

That’s what the bureaucracy is all about: the federal government replaced charity. They don’t want you deciding where your charity goes. Now the libs can give your money to the people they want-their causes and their friends.

End all federal social agencies: DOL, DOEd, HHS, HUD. All of them.

At one time churches provided for the needy. But as usually, the feds want to take over and kick any possibility of religion out of it. Remember - you get your inalienable rights from YOUR CREATOR. And if we can get rid of the creator - we can control all of your rights.

Get this: in the story of the Tower of Babel, when the One World Rulers were trying to build a tower to heaven to become gods, all the people only spoke one language, being under the rule of “political correctness”.

So God comes along and what does He institute? FREE SPEECH! And voila! Their plan was crushed.

I've often thought how much better off we would be if the government got out of the business of "welfare" and returned it to the communities. I remember Dr. Carson being asked what he would do about caring for the poor and he replied "tithe". Brilliant. Can't help but think people helping people would work much better than government "helping" people.

I started writing the same sentence...did not know who Amber Rose was, and was drawn to her amazing beauty when she started to speak. It seems like they only give away other people's money when they get a cut.

Or should I say when the big guy gets a cut?

Expand full comment

Took me awhile to figure this one out. One gets accused of selfishness when you make comments about taxes being too high or just diss taxes in general. They want us to all give to the government and let it decide who gets what. This relieves one of personal responsibility. Ex: Sarah Jessica Parker talking about an aunt who had financial needs that she thought the govt should meet and felt no personal responsibility. (I’ve often said that if all the rich in Hollywood would buy one simple home for the homeless, it would do more good than all the govt programs.)

I believe I should keep as much of my money as legally possible from the gub’mint so I can donate more to causes and people as the Lord leads me. It gets more bang for the buck that way. This is not always easy and is a matter of the heart. I believe it is also better for the receiver because s/he can see clearly that it is not FREE money and perhaps will cause them to use the gift more wisely, especially if it is given one on one by an individual.

Years ago a diehard Democrat uncle asked, “What have the Republicans ever done for you?” Well, I don’t want either party to do anything for me. I want them to uphold the Constitution, protect our borders, and treat all equally under the law and let us live our lives as we see fit! My uncle wanted to get special treatment. Then I heard tell of him going out with a friend on a boat at a State Park and doing something to avoid park fees. That opened my eyes to the probability that most Democrats will “give” only what the govt requires and feel virtuous about it and at the same time lie and cheat to get out of paying the govt at all if possible.

So, YES, “libs like to give away other peoples monies but not their own”!!!

But we ( Americans) are in a Stanley cup playoff and our side is currently down two game to nuthin’. We MUST win the next Three to win the Cup. Just a personal anecdote - my daughter, who is adopted and half Mexican/half white, married a black man. (Talk about multi-cultural grandkids!) I wish I was smarter so I could understand the ideological shift taking place in America because it is fascinating to see firsthand. In my lifetime, this has only happened twice: Once with Reagan and now with Trump and I believe both candidates did similar things to achieve it.

But, the bottom line is both men were deeply and truly authentic to what they said. Both men were rock solid in their conviction of truth and had no "fake" bones in their bodies. That is rare - and refreshing - today.

The same authenticity can't be found in the GOP or the Democrat parties. Not an ounce. The lies have become so obvious, its like watching MSNBC or Morning Joe. They're a joke, and people are disgusted by it being shoved in their faces.

I'll know Trump's influence has come full circle when mainstream powerhouses finally line up against the biggest fake on planet earth - Barack Hussein Obama. That will be the acid test for the completion of ideological change (i.e.) when a candidate isn't given super powers because of the color of his skin alone.

Interestingly, I think we as a country, haven't really shifted to Socialism - per se. I think the minority of 'highly trained' Marxists (wasn't that what the founder of BLM called herself?) have been working diligently (with the media's help) to change all the meanings of words, intimidate to force 'tolerance', undermine our values and morals, corrupt the "yoots", and corrupt the government to create a Soviet-style bureaucracy and steal from the taxpayer.... while most of us were just trying to lead good, American lives. The more the merrier. The black community is the only community that can fix its problems, just like any other community. The message of the MAGA movement is better for everybody in America including blacks. The good parts of the GOP- not the corporate welfare and the betrayal of American principles by RINOs - are also better for everybody. I don’t discriminate.

Besides, the Dems have been playing the celebrity card forever. It’s good strategy to do the same.

The reality is that if we judge people from different backgrounds as unqualified to join the MAGA movement, it’s not going to be much of a movement. You don’t have to endorse strippers and rappers and Only Fans. And the reality is that most of those people aren’t going to be GOP stalwarts. But some will vote for Trump and we need to be tolerant and encouraging.

I’m not a fan of facial tattoos or gangster rap culture, and I’m not going to endorse that stuff. I’m not going to endorse criminality. But I am a fan of winning, and being more inclusive, and we need a more diverse crowd to do it. Remember as well that the old guard GOP hates white middle class and working class Americans. They didn’t want MAGA. They wanted Poindexter, the MBA corporate lackey. But they couldn’t even do that. They were destined to lose by demographics and popular culture. Also based on what I’ve seen of the dancing on the GOP convention floor, it wouldn’t hurt to get some people with better moves. Either that or hire some orthopedic surgeons for all the impending hip fractures. It’s like a bad parody of white people dancing, only it’s not a parody.

MAGA is a populist movement. Let the people come. Be exemplary and you will produce change. I can think of someone else that many MAGA patriots believe in who would have espoused a similar message, amirite?

And we need to get our young people on board because the work set out before us will take decades!! And it be on them to carry it on. If all they see is old fuddy-duddy self-righteous prigs selling a dead horse well, what would you do?

No - we need to go BIG and that means Big Hearts, not just a big tent, and that’s how we start the work of fixing this country and the culture within it and that can only happen when we open ourselves to the true principles of Liberty and Justice for ALL no matter who you are or where you come from.

Let God do the rest.
