The amazing thing is the fact that upwards of 50% of the population still support the imbecile-in-chief! Who are these people? Are there that many government workers? That many Americans on the government teat? First thing Trump should do in his second term is do a Javier Milei and slash the massively bloated leviathan of bureaucrats by 50%.

2nd- defund all universities

We can accomplish that better, and catch the Leftist NGOs as well, by revising the Tax code to change 501 type filers.

Why for heavens sake should universities with billions in endowments accumulate income tax free? As well, NGOs with such status allow creeps like Soros, Reid Hoffman and the like to enjoy tax benefits for their donations. Bonus would be recasting the Clinton "Global" Initiative into a tax paying entity, rather than a grifters paradise.

Who are these people?

They could be diehard D's: 'My family has always voted Democrat.'

They could be watching The View or TikTok for their news.

Or they could be living in a bubble.

In Don's book, TRUMP THE PRESS, he wrote: 'Many pundits knew not what was going on outside their small circle of friends. They reminded me of what New Yorker movie critic Pauline Kael told the Modern Language Association on December 28, 1972. “I live in a rather special world. I only know one person who voted for Nixon. Where they are I don’t know. They’re outside my ken. But sometimes when I’m in a theater, I can feel them,” Kael said.'

https://www.amazon.com/Trump-Press-Surbers-pundits-Republican/dp/1533360197

The 2010 elections resulted in Republican control of 26 state legislatures and 29 of the 50 state governorships. The following day, the writer Nora Ephron (“When Harry Met Sally”) said in an interview: “I watched the elections returns come in, the endless babble about how angry people were, and I have such a sense of how insulated we are in New York City from whatever is going on out there.”

Expand full comment

As a person who has a few "rogue" family members who are somewhat prominent members of the main stream media and, having socialized with them and many of their peers over the years, I can vouch for Pauline Kael's statement as being true. Although quite intelligent, they have few critical thinking skills and only a rudimentary knowledge of history. They want to see themselves as compassionate members of society when, in reality, they are actually ruled by the need to feel good and to be accepted by following their peers. They would be appalled to be called 'yellow dog Democrats' or 'Mr. Potato Head' voters but that is what they are - Liberal Democrats who wear blinders.

They AVOID communication--I think something in them senses any conversation could pull the rug out from under their belief system.

And no, they're not avoiding communication because I've been too heavy-handed in the past. There IS NO past--even years ago in the beginning they avoided discussion with people who weren't clearly part of their tribe. The only conversations we have is where I'm listening to their point of view and ask questions, and I do earnestly do this, because I want to understand where they're coming from. (I admit, some of my questions are a "Socratic" method of having them trap themselves in their own reasoning.) But there is zero reciprocity, just flat dismissal.

I think the Left "preps them" for what to do when they encounter someone with views outside of their group--they immediately think the person on the Right is not worth listening to--either dumb, or "misinformed and drenched in conspiracy theories", or just a bad/mean/racist person.

This is how a cult operates, by the way. Anything "from the outside world" is a threat, so avoid it.

PS, I have sometimes heard Marxism referred to as a "cult". I think there is some real truth to that.

Today's libs seem to stop at nothing to impose their Fascist/Communist mindset on everyone else. They are inching closer to being like the Fascists of the French Revolution in many ways (hide the guillotines) including changing the names of/ or ignoring Christian and patriotic holidays. Georgia governor signs legislation changing state election laws

Since the beginning of May, states have enacted nearly 50 election-related bills. One of the most active states during this time was Georgia, with Gov. Brian Kemp (R) signing 19 election-related bills on May 6, including several bills that have garnered national attention for how they change the state’s voting laws.

One of the bills was SB189. The bill passed the Georgia House of Representatives on March 26. The omnibus election bill changes several areas of election law, including removing the secretary of state from the state election board, allowing election officials to remove a voter from registration rolls up to 45 days before an election, and requiring all absentee ballots to be counted by one hour after the close of polls on election day. For a complete summary of the bill, click here to view our legislation tracker write-up. Two Democrats joined all voting Republicans to pass the bill 101-73. It then passed the Georgia Senate along party lines on March 29.

The bill's supporters say it will result in more accurate and transparent elections. One of the bill's sponsors, Rep. John LaHood (R), said, "I see this as being pro-America, pro-accuracy, pro-transparency and pro-election integrity." The bill's critics say it will disenfranchise eligible voters and that portions of the bill directly conflict with the National Voter Registration Act, which prohibits the removal of voters from registration rolls within 90 days of an election. ACLU of Georgia Executive Director Andrea Young said, "Access to the ballot is at the heart of our democracy. This election ‘Frankenbill’ violates the National Voter Registration Act. We are committed to protecting Georgia voters. If the governor signs this bill, we will see him in court."

Other notable legislation Gov. Kemp signed on May 6 includes HB1207 and HB974. HB1207 requires all election officials and poll workers to be U.S. citizens, grants poll watchers access to polling places, advance voting locations, tabulation centers, and absentee ballot processing locations, and stipulates that they are entitled to observe any activity that is conducted at these locations. The bill passed the Senate along party lines on March 26 and then passed the lower chamber on March 28, with one Democrat joining the House’s Republicans to send the bill to the governor for signature.

HB 974 requires watermarks on absentee ballots, establishes a pilot program to scan and publicly post images of all voted ballots on the secretary of state’s website and expands post-election risk-limiting audit requirements. According to the bill text, these risk-limiting audits will use "statistical methods and [are] designed to limit to acceptable levels the risk of certifying a preliminary election outcome that constitutes an incorrect outcome." HB974 received more bipartisan support than the other two bills. On March 26, 14 Democrats joined Republicans in the Senate to pass the bill 47-6. On March 28, it passed the lower chamber 136-29, with 42 Democrats joining Republicans to advance the bill.

Gov. Kemp also signed more than 10 other election bills on May 6 that change election procedures in specific municipalities or jurisdictions in the state. For a complete list of election-related bills adopted in Georgia this year, click here.

Thirty-five states have passed 230 election administration bills in 2024. The states that have passed the most are Georgia (33) and Tennessee (29), both of which have Republican trifectas, followed by Virginia (25), which has a divided government. The states with Democratic trifectas that have passed the most bills are Maryland (10) and Massachusetts (8), followed by New Jersey (4) and Washington (4).

Totally true. Canada, for the last 50 years at least, hasn't innovated and produced little that people know anything about or is used on a daily basis to improve lives. What this country has done is build up goverment employees, increase the population by immigration, and expand government programs (entitlements) that a majority of voters will never want to give up. That's not innovative or wealth creating. Canada is a left-of-centre country and this is what you get. Innovation is building up government. The Liberal Party of Canada (Justin's party and his father's) are masters at this. We are now supposed to get a national daycare program, a national school lunch program, and a national dental program. Voters don't want to give up these freebies. Who pays for this???

Replacing Kamala with another black woman (Michelle Obama) would mitigate alot of the flak they would get from their base about replacing Kamala.

But I think Hillary will not sit by idly if Michelle Obama is put forward-- she WANTS that Presidency, and it would be a catfight. In fact, if they pass on Hillary, the Democrats might be making another colossal mistake. "Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned."

I would not put it past Hillary to throw "loyalty" out the window, and go after the Dems viciously--this is Hillary's last chance, and she would have no reason to "play well" with the Democrats anymore in hope of still pulling off a path to the Presidency. That would be a splendid late summer/early fall disaster drama to enjoy unfolding! But Hillary might have met her match-- the Marxists might give her a dose of her own Arkanicide. I hope his few adoring fans who want to get into some of that free money will keep him occupied and busy until President Trump is elected. Kamalalalala does not want to give up her life of partying, so hopefully she will not want to be CONNECT THROUGH BOTH EARS 24 HOURS OF EVERY DAY, BEING TOLD WHAT TO SAY, DO, WEAR, WHERE TO BE NEXT, HOW TO SPEAK, WHOM TO SPEAK TO, GET ON THIS PLANE, GO TO THIS HORRORIFIC COUNTRY, ETC. SHE HAS PUT ON A FEW YEARS AND POUNDS, AND WILL CERTAINLY RUN OUT OF ENERGY AND PATIENCE WITH BEING A WHIPPED PUPPET DOG.

The announcement of nuclear weapons in Iran was the tell. They will Start a war. Use the War Powers Act to suspend election. Maybe arrest a whole bunch of conservatives again for daring to voice their opinion against WWIII. Including Trump for sedition.

They have no intent on giving up power. Or being hanged for treason. They will fight to their death. Be prepared.

Shortly after 10/7, it was reported that we moved an Ohio-class (boomer) submarine into the region. Haven't heard a word on the subject, since. At the time, my thinking was that the IC had reliable intel that Iran has The Bomb and that the almost off-hand announcement of the sub's movement was a signal to Iran. We *never* announce the movement or placement of our boomers. I don't believe FJB has the balls to actually use that boomer if/when Iran uses its nukes but I pray that Iran believes.

FJB should be replaced by FURP. As our nation has been destroyed, the FUCKED UP REPUBLICAN PARTY sat on their asses and let it happen. The party's infighting and bickering is like snipers in a circle shooting at each other.

Cat is purring loudly on my lap. Hot coffee nearby. Let the games begin.

Spot on commentary and given that the polls are either biased or played, the fact that even they are reflecting such a dramatic downturn has got to be concerning to the powers. I too was shocked the first time I heard FJB coming from the college crowd & the LGB was a gift from God. The only poll I need was the crowd in NJ. That was a Taylor Swift crowd.
