I've been watching Ramaswamy ever since he came down the golden.....no wait that was someone else..... Seriously he got my attention right away. I've been teaching people how to say and spell his name correctly all last year. I'm still a diehard Trumper but Ramaswamy has my attention.

Many of the people who dismiss Dr. Carson as a pushover because of his calm demeanor do so at their peril. I spent many years as an allied health professional in a top pediatric medical center working with surgeons and specialists of similar caliber. They run the gamut from hot tempered to cold as ice but the one thing they all possess is absolute certainty that they are right when they make a decision and nobody can sway them. The one thing Ben Carson has going for him that a lot of his peers don’t is his faith in God. I have no doubt that he would be a strong VP and a worthy successor to President Trump.

Remember watching a Townhall event with Dr. Carson and he was asked about taxes and if they were lowered how would we take care of the poor. He said “Tithe”. Was brilliant. There is no doubt in my mind that the poor would be much better served on a local level than our federal government.

We did not let our younger kids get vaccinated. The oldest is an adult and he refused on his own.

If I didn’t get the vaccine, then I would have lost my surgical practice, as proof of vaccination was required to work at surgery centers and hospitals. So it was a “choice” according to some, but I see it as illegal coercion by a bunch of evil people who knew that everything they were doing was wrong. But those of us on the receiving end, we didn’t know. Because the data was hidden. And health care workers were the first group to get jabbed. If I knew then, what I know now, I would have closed up shop.

They knew the vaccine was not safe. The government accepted it on the basis of minimal data that was manipulated. They knew that too. Pfizer, FDA, whatever. These people all know each other for decades and they are all in on the same game. They knew mRNA technology has never created a successful vaccine, and that’s still true today. They knew that bad things could happen to the people who took it. They aren’t stupid. They’re evil. Many of us are angry and want justice. Covid was a government operation. It is the crime of the century - so far. Fauci, and the other monsters on the inside of this thing, deserve harsh punishment.

Sorry to hear what you went through as a fully engaged medical professional. It had to be a gut-wrenching experience.

I couldn't wrap my head around the question of why Docs, hospitals, the entire medical community followed orders without questioning the mandates. There was good published science in direct opposition to the policy recommendations. How can a mandate be issued for an untested jab? Fauci lied through his ass and nobody held him to account. Where did the moral heroes go?

I don't expect anything different from government, but I hope in the future, the medical community will stand up to the government as a profession. First, do no harm.

Expand full comment

The medical community will not stand up to the government. The medical societies, certifiying boards, medical schools, and state regulatory boards are either ideologically in line with the statists or effectively bought off. The AMA is a joke. The American College of Surgeons is introducing a whole bunch of DEI crap as we type. It's the same racialist commie nonsense we are seeing in all sectors now. The medical community won't even stand up to hospitals.

There was not much data on the vaccines when they came out. That came later. There was speculation that they wouldn't work well based on prior mRNA vaccine efforts, but nobody had ever tested mRNA vaccines on a large population. We were all guinea pigs.

Look, I respect the people who said no. But when you own your own business, need to make a living, have employees, etc., it's a tough ask to just shut your doors, when you can't open them again for the foreseeable future or until some case makes it through the courts, which have thus far have not kept hospitals and surgery centers from requiring vaccinations. They do it for flu as well. I don't take the flu shots because I had an allergic reaction one year. (And they don't work well either btw). To date fortunately, as far as I can tell, neither I nor my wife have suffered an adverse health event from the vaccines. But it's early days still.

Expand full comment
founding

I don’t blame any individual physician - except for Anthony Fauci. He lied to the American people for more than a year. You correctly state not much was known about mRNA, and the little that was known was not good. How was the vax repeatedly promoted as “safe and effective”? There were no real clinical trials. The whole thing was a fraud. Someone has to pay for this.

Tanto and Mark--It is good to hear from physicians like yourselves on this; I value your knowledge base. I have been surprised at how few physicians have spoken up. And how few have backed up the few who DID speak up. I think we have all generally felt doctors were some of the best and brightest folks in America. If they had spoken up alot more, they truly could have turned the tide on this whole COVID episode.

I would be interested in your response to what I think is one of the reasons they didn't speak up. It seems to me that the medical profession has become very "consensus oriented". Because of malpractice lawsuits, I think they have come to "find safety in the herd"--meaning that so long as one follows "the generally accepted protocol" for treating an illness, they have a good defense from malpractice suits--"I was just doing what is widely accepted science."

It really seems to me that medicine is heavily permeated now with "the accepted protocol" frame of mind.

I think this same fear of stepping away from the crowd leads to physicians no longer expressing humility. Our science is continually evolving, and one has to admit there are alot of areas where what we are doing today is in some ways just groping for a healing solution. Further advances will come in the future. But for now, it seems doctors don't want to admit that "the current protocol" might have some deficiencies. They all need to "get on board" even with a treatment that is only so-so. If they weren't under pressure to conform, I think many doctors would much more readily admit the downside of many current treatment approaches.

Therefore, the "best and the brightest" minds have been 'emasculated' from challenging the "generally accepted consensus"--right when we REALLY needed them to be bold and outspoken.

I was always skeptical through the COVID escalation into unconstitutional oblivion, which is why I refused the Vax. When the CDC was coming up with the crazy rules during lockdown about "social distancing" I came across an article that explained the origin of the phrase and the practice.

I can't verify this but this is what I recall: The article said the term "social distancing" was created by a high school student who was writing a term paper. It was a suggestion as to how it might minimize the spread of disease. Somehow George Bush heard about this story and suggested it be adopted as a recommendation (for an earlier pandemic). It stuck but most didn't know its origin - just assumed it was "science".

This story was brought up in some interviews at the time COVID policy was rolling out and it was immediately debunked and covered up, thus making it appear as science. Just like all the evidence that masks did NOTHING to protect the user or others in their vicinity, it was still pushed as science. It was all bullshit and Fauci PUSHED it all on us knowing it was a lie.

Vaccine hesitancy? For me it is Government Bureaucrat hesitancy. If they can charge and jail a man for creating a meme about Hillary, then Fauci should be in jail for the rest of his life. We need to hit Fauci so hard that our government will have "fake pandemic hesitancy".

The Tweet of the Week really cracked me up. I don't know which is funnier, putting Alice Cooper's face into the video or Dr. Jill trying to convince us that Joe is up to the job. Item 17 regarding baby boomers struck home with me. The big reason most of us boomers are doing well in retirement is that we actually planned and saved for it instead of spending like fools for frivolous things. Oh, and we had something called a work ethic. I could go on, but most of you get it. I picked Elise Stefanik in the poll because she is smart and tough and, I believe she would make a good President. Sarah Sanders was my second choice for the same reasons. Vivek is brilliant, but he is a bit too radical in his ideas, but would make a great Sec. of State or some other high level Cabinet post.
