#4 - what the government never mentions is that those onions used by McDonalds and a lot of other fast food chains, are grown in California and are harvested by illegal third worlders who defecate in the fields and don’t wash their hands.

What gets me is all the recalls lately in the food industry. There have been 3 major meat recalls for millions on millions of pounds of meat, and that is just meat. There are several outbreaks going on. It is almost like the CDC is back to actually doing their job. The cynic in me thinks they are cleaning up their act in case Trump wins.

All of the above: I think more people report problems and there are more problems and the hygiene standards really are low because of hiring. The more food is processed and moved through various facilities and human hands the more opportunities there are for bad stuff to get in. And all those processing facilities are staffed with strangers of dubious hygiene and cleanliness standards. I imagine even the machinery is not cleaned as needed.

There is a reason the introduction of indoor plumbing and municipal sewer systems made a difference in health outcomes. And if you kill the rats there is no plague.

EODmom, I foresee RFK j having a major role in the new administration that will affect this among many other health issues

More likely it’s just another attack on the food chain. They don’t give a rip about actual toxic ingredients in processed foods but the slightest hint of anything in real food (not to mention the highly insane bird flu) and they trash everything.

Contamination happens in processing not harvesting.

From dirty equipment.

Expand full comment

CDC was targeting onions the McDonalds quarter pounder but there are several other items that contain them so I am not so sure. Those could have been contaminated either in the field or in equipment. Most lettuce is contaminated in the field. Depends on what it is and how it is processed. The meat most likely is contaminated in processing.

Expand full comment

These cases were most likely known for weeks. The regime decided to publish them to punish. I bet there are 100s of contaminated food cases open right now. If not thousands. It tells us how petty and thin skinned the regime is. They only care about their power, to hell with those they are paid to protect.

Actually that sounds logical for the left. A couple of the meat recalls happened prior to Trump McDonalds visit. Boars head was the big one. After the visit, the CDC released several more, 2 pertaining to McDonalds. Probably released several so that having 2 at MikyD's didnt look weird. Onions and meat.

So pretty much. CDC and all the other 3 letter alphabet soup need to be dissolved. The CDC and FDA esp. They are corrupted from top to bottom. They are just revolving doors with the companies they are supposed to be policing. A few good people maybe but mostly not.

Most don't realize, most 3 leter agencies were established with executive action. So when Trump says he can get rid of them, belive him. I guarantee the agencies belive him.

They do, esp the CIA, ATF and Homeland. That is why they have been fighting him all these yrs. And moved into lawfare because they cant blackmail him. He already had money so they couldnt bribe him. I am sure the DOD needs a total shake up too. Id up vote you but I cant up- vote right now.

Jim, I also listened to that last night. PDJT is the energizer Bunny and he knows where the land mines are this time. I can also recommend the conversation Tucker had with Amaryllis Kennedy - yes, she married into "that" clan and was RFK J's campaign manager and also used to work with the CIA - a very interesting woman

For a newspaper to endorse a candidate it is necessary to write a compelling argument for backing the endorsed candidate, to attempt that for Kamala Harris is to embarrass the newspaper for all eternity.

Imagine if you that there exists a proposed WP endorsement of the VP. In that endorsement the claim by the candidate that inflation is caused by price gouging. Bezos reads that and thinks “I am a very rich man because I created a market place that made pricing transparent and increased price competition by an order of magnitude. I made price gouging almost impossible” would he allow his creation to be libeled by this ignorant fool?

I have discovered a plausible reason Democrats are anti-gun. After shooting clays "all the time" for years, Walz hasn't figured out how to load his own shotgun. Right on cue, a Democrat running for the Senate wounds a reporter. Predictably, both incidents were followed by MSM provided excuses in such volume that Niagra Falls was embarrassed. *** The lack of endorsements by major newspapers (Is "major" a permissible description of any newspaper today?) goes to prove an adage. No matter how much lipstick you put on a pig, it's still a Democrat. The newspapers are declaring the 2024 version of the pig as fatally toxic. *** Compare and Contrast. While Israel goes about taking out the heavily protected targets of multiple organizations in multiple countries on the same day, the US Army is run by people who can't deal with a fictional incident at Arlington. May God help America.

There's some good stuff in Don's Saturday posts, but I figure it's the leftovers from that week's research: the items that didn't fit elsewhere. So Saturday's sweepings off the cutting-room floor give him a well-deserved break.

Expand full comment

Disagree. I doubt doing the Highlights is by any means "a break". There's too much great wit. And there's such a firehose of information coming out every week that it's quite valuable for someone with Don's judgment to curate items we need to hear about, even if just briefly, because they flesh out "the big picture" that the MSM is always trying to bury.

The Highlights this week are another masterpiece. I was keeping a list of which one might be my favorite, but after 20 items made the list I gave up.

But tied for 1st would be Item 4--the line "The FDA stands ready to call Pepto Bismol horse paste"; and Item 23--because it is honestly sad about those 6 people killed in Waukesha, and how the loss of those precious lives was outweighed by the Left's desire to not condemn the criminal.

An aside on Item 29, YouTube censorship--I recall reading somewhere shortly after the 2020 election, that YouTube had just hired 8 experienced Chinese censors to come on board. I am sure they are still there. Vaguely recalling seeing that 1 of them was fired (the head of the censorship group??), but I'm sure the others are still there, and probably more. I do not trust YouTube and will not get an account there.

YouTube is another organization that is ripe for a conservative competitor, just like people are eager for Elon to start a competitor to Google's search engine and the Apple Iphone.

I wonder what the prize is. Musk is giving out million-dollar checks.

Some have complained that Musk's giveaways amount to buying votes, which is illegal. That has died down, perhaps because of Michelle's similar efforts.

As I witness the collapse of the campaign for Kamala, I realize why Jesus said don't rejoice over the fall of your enemy, because I'm going to have a lot of work to do consoling some of my dear friends. Since I have started doing that by defending women who voted for you know who the increase of my Facebook viewership, I'm a stats freak, is 1500% and every one of my sites are showing increased viewing. They'll accept my help although reluctantly because they know I am their friend although right now they are really really pissed at me for sticking up for Trump.

Also in the personal news, I'm going to be watching the Notre Dame game at noon that's a recommendation of two of my three football mentors, my truck driving son-in-law, the great JB White, and my adorable neighbor whom I found out knows a heck of a lot more than sports than I do. I am having too much fun. Somebody stop me. And yes, I can enjoy a Jim Carrey movie. As long as it's free. I use my anger not in politics for the wrath of man work is not the righteousness of God but in cutting expenses I'm down to supporting Elon Musk, Don cerber, truth social site, epic times spelled differently and they're from China, and right now that's all I have the money for if my finances improve I'm going to add cat turd oh yeah also have lady by the name of Bridget who's a female Joe Rogan.
