America's paper of record. LOS ANGELES, CA — Major League Baseball's hottest franchise suddenly and unexpectedly announced the suspension of all operations today, as the Los Angeles Dodgers were bankrupted after President Donald Trump placed a 25% tariff on all Japanese players. 04/05/25: Back in March, I tossed $150 on a bet on FanDuel that the Dodgers won't make the 2025 baseball playoffs.

They'll do ANYTHING to avoid paying out $2,100 --- and just did. Harrumph!!!

On the other hand, it was a mercy killing. Last season, the same bet was made on the Atlanta Braves not making the playoffs. It came right down to the final day of the season. Double-header (second game a rainout make-up date).

Mets, sleepwalking in the past two-three games, woke up, won the first game and thus they made their own playoffs.

Game Two: Braves must win the game to make it into their own playoffs.

The Mets could not have cared less, mailed it in, and the Braves won ...

Eight months of (make-believe) "hard work" down the drain.

(Then the Braves went 0-2 in the first playoff series because they no more belonged in the playoffs than Kamala Harris belonged in the White House. Da b*stards.)

If that's so, the MLB should hire homebound teachers so the Dodgers can be homeschooled to learn another trade. Especially if they are expecting even the high six figure income they earned as MLB players. (Couldn't ask grown men to enroll in some US school of education. They had their chance.)

Two things wrong with Stephanie kneeling and forfeiting a fencing match w/a trannie.

1. She should have walked away, not knelt.

2. The other females should have joined her.

I'm not Catholic, but it still hacks me off that the genuflection, a sign of deep respect coming from the Romans, is now used to express objections. I was pissed when they used it for the flag, and I'm still pissed today.

It's a sign of reverence, you clueless morons!

I believe taking a knee and laying down your weapon is correct form for for refusing a match. Fencing has its own rules and standards.

Maybe? Don't remember that from my fencing days but it's been a very long time. And I don't think it ever came up.

Item 11 - there goes the Bentley. Some BMWs are made here in South Carolina. Maybe President Trump can convince the Brits to open a Bentley plant in WV.

Actually they are only assembled in SC. all the parts come from Germany though some be made here. BTW if you ever have a chance you should take a tour of that plant. It is fully automated and quite an experience following a car being completely assembled on your tour.

Budget Resolution. The Senate voted 51-48 to pass the measure after a holding a long series of votes on amendments, which kept senators pacing around the chamber for hours.

Sens. Rand Paul (Ky.) and Susan Collins (Maine) were the only Republican to vote against it. Murkowski may have read the room. She is dead lady walking, unless everyone in Alaska is drinking the Kool Aid.

I fear for all of us if AOC becomes the most powerful democrat. She is so smart that she will push through reparations for all non white people. Then she will force her colleagues to enact a new law to raise taxes by 200%. On the bright side the non white folks will pay the same inflated taxes and blame AOC. Of course I’m being hyperbolic but it still worries me the democrats are so broken they think AOC and maybe that Crockett lady is the best they have.

Next question: “If half the cars coming into the United States are foreign-made, that's hard to turn around overnight, as you know,” Collins said. “So what would you say to people in the auto industry who are worried about that timeline and how quickly that could shift?”

“Buy American,” Bessent said bluntly. He also clarified that the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) exempts certain vehicles and parts from the new tariffs.’

#2. Ghost guns is a corrupt ATF/DNC term devised to impinge the 2d Amendment rights of citizen's to arm themselves. Gorsuch, et al, fell for that standard Lefty trick of focusing on bad guys instead of honest citizen rights. #6. Oh no!. NGO, aka Government Funded Lefties, are being forced to shut down their Vichy inspired shelters for enemy forces. #11. Ford's CEO appeared on Ingraham's show. He awkwardly struggled through an effort to proclaim agreement with Trump while trying to avoid offending anyone, particularly China. Hey, Dude, grow some balls. Endorse saving American industry and workers and get on with it. #19. Movie industry insiders say Disney has $700 million in costs associated with Snow White and is unlikely to recover more than $200 million. #21. We are at war with an enemy force within our country. That force entered through gates held open by Democrats. Anyone objecting to deporting any and all illegals should be required to watch the movie Sicario before opening their mouth. There is much truth and a new attitude to be learned there. #35. In Dept of Ed v. California, et al. Chief Roberts joined his fellow American Inns of Court members to deny the President's Constitutional authority to govern the executive branch. Watch for the Justices voting in favor of the Constitution to grow stronger as a bloc. *** Trump came to office prepared for battle but no plan survives the first contact with the enemy. His patience with those who oppose him is reportedly wearing thin. The stupid Left's resistance may be creating an enraged Patton ready to ignore the sham niceties of politics. *** In 2007, Pelosi and other Dems illegally engaged in foreign policy negotiations with Assad and others. Her protege Newsom is doing the same by attempting to negotiate tariffs with China.

Newsom would be in violation of the Logan Act should he pursue his vainglorious plan to circumvent US government policy via “side deals with foreigners”.

Side note: he just slapped the highest tax on CA in its history as well as in the country. He is a vacuous poseur, and a maliciously devious one at that.

Yes, Newsom is a putz. Local sales taxes in California vary according to county and city. While Newsom objects to Trump tariffs, he approves of local sales taxes of 8% to 11.5%.
