I do not watch any tv news broadcast. I'm way too busy watching reruns of "Leave it to Beaver" , "The Donna Reed Show", and "Gunsmoke"

You both left out Mannix. And that little racing green Dodge convertible. I'm not old enough to drive a Dodge, but I'd love a little Pontiac Tempest!

How old are you, 110?? Just kidding. If I still had a TV, I'd probably be watching it as well. It's too expensive to get that stuff online except, perhaps "LIE TO ME"

I find the streaming companies that have no fee.

My health has vastly improved by not watching TV. There was so little I wanted to see plus the fees were absurd. Yes I am aware that you can stream via your computer, but why? If you have never seen or heard of the TV series 'LIE TO ME" I highly recommend it. My health?? I lost 150# and my blood pressure dropped 100 points and I stopped drinking. Watching TV would only bring that back.

Congrats! That is an achievement.

All very good points. Even our local station carries liberal water even in its weather reporting (climate change, anybody?) I live next to an extremely blue city. I do not pay to watch Fox News .

Climate change happens four times a year. Winter, spring, summer and fall and it has been going on long before man arrived.

You have so many good pieces, Don... This is the most important to date imho.

"I may be a sucker but I am not that sucker. I never watch Fox."

I haven't watched or listened since 2016 after I voted for Cruz in the primary and immediately realized my mistake.

This 'settlement' made questioning elections forbidden, which, they already were. Now it is weaponized which is what the media wants - now they don't even have to entertain it.

My favorite news source is you. You have replaced over $100 a month newspaper and magazine subscriptions. I like reading your blog early and silently while my Alzheimer's stricken wife is still sleeping while I enjoy my first coffee, like today.

I also am addicted to political humor and history. You have both in your blog.

I'm a lifetime extreme night owl and 75 years old. Since I was in 2nd grade I stealthily watched Jack Paar, Steve Allen, Johnny Carson, and in the morning Dave Garrowsy. Very late in life we cut out all network and switched to YouTube for Greg Gutfield along with massive and thoughtful Planet Tryrus and cutie pie, sharp tongued and tiny Kat Timpf. Greg is now #1 in ratings and King of Late Night. A blog about him would be fascinating.

All of this bullshit is going to continue until we take matters into our own hands. Please understand that this isn’t a call for a ‘Hot’ civil war but if ‘We’ don’t do something and soon nothing is going to change, and worse yet anything we hold dear and near to our hearts and minds today will only be corrupted by tomorrow.

This settlement proves to me even more that the deep state uniparty exists and they've conspired to steal our country thru fraud. Ballot harvesting = ballot manufacturing.

Motor voter and more auto registrations give them the database they need to account for the fake votes they feed into the machines.

and the Dominion machine algorithms adjust vote totals for their desired outcomes.

This trial and discovery could have uncovered a lot of the obvious fraud. A settlement sweeps everything under the rug

I too agree - the dominion machines were/are compromised. It is too easy to do. It is also too easy to run perfect tests and then massively rig the real deal - date check logic embedded in the code.

plus Dominion has that whole partial fraction vote going. Vote for trump, .75, Vote for Xiden 1.25.

You know it is rigged when they cannot tell you how many actual votes they got. Whether they are mail-in, in-person or early. Each of those should have a solid number and in Dominion states mostly they dont.

Expand full comment

Like the Federal Reserve Bank creating their fiat coupons (dollars) from thin air, lawyers for Fox & Dominion made up a number to sell as a 'settlement.' No money will change hands. Fox & Dominion are equal partners. They work together with their other co-conspirators to destroy Constitutional Law and National Sovereignty of the United States.

Fox News is part of the dog and pony show that is modern politics. They are there to distract from the regime, which Paul Ryan is part and parcel of. They are not going to address the very real problems with the election, but then in a system where you only have two parties and those parties act more like corporations than parties, democracy is also a joke. (If there's one thing I wish Trump acolytes would learn it's that the problems did not start with Trump; you just noticed them then because you cared.)

I watch "Cucker Tarlson," and I have no problem with him disliking Trump. He never fawned over him and I'm Trump ambivalent myself. I voted for him twice. He exposed a lot that a cynic like me had figured out, but the complacent on the right didn't and it woke them up. But he also did a lot that, even if I'm being generous and think he was naive, rather than ascribing some sort of "trojan horse" motive, leave me convinced he hasn't learned a thing and his second term would be pretty much like his first, which is to say a lot of wasted opportunity.

As for "settling" the lawsuit . . . it has still done damage to precedent. We now can hold news outlets responsible for what *guests* say on shows. Good luck with that one MSNBC, CNN, NYTs, etc.

Expand full comment
founding

I'm amazed at what Trump did get done in spite of all the friendly fire.

1. Getting rid of General Flynn on advice of RINOS Pence and his idiot attorney General Sessions.

2. No money approved for his wall thanks to Paul Ryan.

3. Obamacare not repealed thanks to McCain.

Fuck the GOP, Fox News, Media, Democrats and Dominion

Expand full comment

Yes, but the problem was he *listened* to Pence and Sessions, who were clearly part of the game, and as for Paul Ryan and McCain, he held the veto over a lot of things those two wanted but wasn't willing to play hardball with them, just as he told the Republicans in the House to cave and elect McCarthy speaker when they instead showed him how to wield power and get concessions, including lowering the bar to get rid of McCarthy so he remains "honest."

This pattern holds on both sides. I remember complaining about Obamacare to someone who liked Obama and her excuse was "that was all he could get with the medical lobby." My answer was, well, then he should have walked away because he put people in an even worse position, but instead he wanted a "legacy," no matter fake that "legacy" was.

The problem is we make excuses for the people we like. Yes, compromise is vital to getting anything done, but I notice how all the compromises really only affect one group, no matter who is president and which party is in charge.

I open up "My Documents" on Window 13 (hard drive contents transferred last week from the Win7) and there are TWO copies of every documents.

The Win 13 Spellcheck (Biden's Vocabulary Version) has a glossary "opf" about 15 words. For instance, "opf" is an error and there is no "of" in this version of Can'tSpellCheck.

Spellcheck "done." Document closed. File re-opened. None of the corrections that had been made (save a new word, etc.) and then "saved" WERE saved. It is necessary to do it all over again.

THE MOST HORRIFYING DISCOVERY: There is now NO safeguard against mistakes in that the standard "Are you sure you want to..." (delete a document, etc.) safety feature in Win7 has been discontinued/thrown away. THIS IS INSANE.

“Five NFL Players Hit With Gambling Bans” --- NYP 09/22/23 [HUMOR]

“Four Detroit Lions players … have been suspended for violating the NFL’s gambling policy, the league announced Friday,” yesterday (Friday 09/21/23).

Four players were Detroit Lions (Williams, Berryhill, Moore and Cephus).

What didn’t make the paper was which “prop” they had bet on, which happened to be:

“In 2023, which NFL team will have the most number of players suspended for violating the NFL gambling policies?”

The Lions players pooled their money and waged $5,000,000 on … Detroit.

Don Reed (09/22/23)

(Isn't it odd that the word "wages" usually means money earned from hard work, not from gambling; and yet, the word "wagered" in most instances means that the money earned from that hard work is about to be squandered?)

What is even worse, please double check where your documents are saving. Most go into the cloud. Microsoft has a habit of storing everything in the cloud. None of my documents are their business. Plus, if you stop paying their subscription for Word, they lock you out of your documents. Please be careful and good luck.

If you are having issues with corrections, it might be the corrections are going to a document in cloud but not on your local machine. Really, good luck.

I still watch Fox because I want to know what is going on, even if it's from a perspective that I don't often like these days. I only watch Tucker and Gutfeld. Tucker has since walked backed his texts about hating Trump and explained why he said that. True or not true, his excuse and reasons are at this link: https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/donald-trump/tucker-carlson-backtracks-private-texts-saying-hates-trump-love-trump-rcna76056. Readers can decide for themselves.

I find Tucker intellectually interesting and his topics appeal to me far more than anything Hannity or Ingraham put out. At some point, though, he will be asked to leave Fox.

Fox is now CNN lite. Its 2020 election night coverage was awful and biased and it showed how the network no longer had any use for Trump. Yes, since Ailes left the network has abandoned its mission. The Murdoch boys (and their father) and Paul Ryan have seen to that. So other options and competitors will take over. That's what a free market does.

And, yes, American libel laws need to be overhauled. You can lie about a politician if there is an absence of malice. Bloody unlikely.
