I would include Thomas Sowell and his common sense.
Black History month should start with Anthony Johnson, an African who, like the whites, served his indentured servitude in Virginia and was freed. He was given land, acquired more and, in 1655 took his white neighbors to court to legalize his ownership of a fellow African as a slave, as was African custom, not indentured servant for a contracted time as was British custom.
Yes, a black African is responsible for slavery on these shores. Only 1% of Americans were slave holders and many of that number were black.

And the crime rate among young black men is the result of (1) pervasive bastardy, (2) a depraved pop culture that encourages antisocial behavior, and (3) an educational system that discourages black boys from trying to make positive contributions to society.
They should combine Black History Month and All The Other Colors Month and just call it Woke, Poke and Broke Month. Or just American History Month, a country that should be celebrated every day. If you don't think so, move somewhere else and leave the rest of us alone.
Speaking of Black History, why don't we learn more about Liberia? Wasn't that the African country we gave to former slaves after the Civil War? A few took up the offer, but many stayed. Why?
I'd like to add Booker T. Washington to your list of American Heroes. His memoir "Up From Slavery" should be taught in every public school in the U.S. His family was freed from slavery and stayed in America. He was a young illiterate boy who ended up founding a university. Only in America. <3
Slavery is not evil because it is racist, slavery is bad because it is slavery. Slavery is also ancient. It provided the renewable sustainable biodegradable energy for the elites for millennia. Interracial slavery did not become commonplace until a leap in transportation technology in the 16th Century allowed slaves sold by Africans to be transported to the Americas to provide sustainable renewable energy for the elites. Technological improvements in energy production later made it possible to eliminate slavery in the West. Within approximately 100 years of the Watt-Wilkinson collaboration that produced an efficient fossil fueled steam engine, slavery was abolished in the West. Slavery reappeared in Germany during the fossil fuel shortage of the first half of the 1940s. (Audrey Hepburn’s step-brother along with many other Belgians, Dutch, French and other Europeans were enslaved to ameliorate the fossil fuel shortages)
Skin color does not make one inherently good or bad. The destruction of the country began around the time of the Kennedy assassination with both the civil rights act which destroyed the black family unit and the immigration act of 1965, which forever changed the make up of this country. Future historians in global china may look back at the ruins of our society and wonder what really did happen. Or maybe they will remember our history as we did of the Çatalhöyük.
As a teacher, I watched as the Americorp 'volunteers' added a new Black History Month poster to our school's entry. I noticed that Huey Newton and Angela Davis were prominently featured with large pictures and sanitized bios. Since I regularly worked late at the school, I took down the propaganda pictures and replaced them, after I printed off new pictures and mounted them on matching colored stock, of Condoleezza Rice and Clarence Thomas. If they even noticed, which I doubt, they didn't change the pictures. I would've ripped down the other two all month long if needed. I noticed that all the little 'study hall' clubs and activities Americorp 'organized' were heavily leftist and not at all fun for their unwitting victims or the parents who thought the kids were getting help with homework. Parents should investigate after school 'free' programs carefully as no one except the ones in charge of such activities ever really knows what is going on.
In my opinion, NIkole Hannah-Jones, and Ibram X. Kendi, are absolutely brilliant capitalists. They saw a market opening in selling white guilt to a wealthy (relatively) white audience and they launched their respective products into the marketplace. Their product apparently was superior to their competitors because they have emerged at the top of the heap. They exploited a market opening that they, and few others, saw and as a result earned great wealth for themselves, which is the capitalist dream. They're living the dream.
As a person with no axe to grind I attended the U.of Ida. where one of my best friends was a student from Philly Pa..When I asked how he came to attend the school his reply was it was the best forestry school in the nation and he could be as far from the ghetto as possible.
