“Oystergruppenfuhrer” - not sure how many will enjoy your humor, Don! Very, very funny…🤣

I look forward to his upcoming memoir "Maine Kampf".

Don is funny on many levels… that is a major reason he is (by far) my fav columnist.

So did I! 🤣

But s

Currently on Maine coast with an oyster farm on our western shore(and some oysters do migrate onto our tidal land.. ). Working waterfront in this community. Tough men(and women). Have you looked into the origin, set-up and operating of Plat's oyster "farm"? I have. Sounds sketchy to me.

Marlan Hoerer's avatar

Farm was registered after starting a senate campaign so he would not be seen as the nepo-child he is.

NNTX's avatar

Except that his only client is his mother’s restaurant. Revenues from the farm are $5001. Hardly a booming business.

We’ve grown oysters off our dock in Virginia; the hardest part is cleaning the oysters when ready to eat. This is not the “work” of a 41 year old man. He subsists on his nearly $5K/mo disability from military service.

Marlan Hoerer's avatar

It is said mommy bought the oyster farm while daddy got him into a house so not exactly a penny pincher with ready money in reach.

It should be noted that both Schumer and Sanders were born to Jewish mothers therefore making them Jewish by Jewish religious law. They both support a candidate that is openly antisemitic. German Jews in the beginning supported Adolph because they didn’t believe he was really serious about his Jew hatred. They thought that it was just a way of garnering votes from an electorate who supported Jew hatred. Schumer and Sanders are despicable but the real danger to American Jews and non Jews alike is that a candidate like Platner won an overwhelming victory from the voters of Maine. What does that say and portend for America?

Scott L's avatar

Proof that the communist ideology is stronger than some mothers’ culture. Chuck You Schumer (I loved Rush) is far more divisive and calculating than the great commie leader Bernie.

WTPuck's avatar

Both are rabid attention whores, though.

Reddog's avatar

Maybe, but Sanders is just an old hippie grifter while Schumer is still a proponent of a political system that does not exist anymore. And he’s just too old to understand it.

Scott L's avatar

Disagree. Sanders is a lifelong communist who has never had a real job. He’s way beyond being a “grifter.”

Retirednottired's avatar

Maybe. Bernie may believe in his Communist views, but I don’t see him caring whether or not he ever achieves the goal, as long as he keeps getting “paid” for his rantings. Three homes, how many more can he possibly use? He now must rant against “billionaires,” since HE is now a millionaire. All hat, no cattle.

MartyB's avatar

Are you familiar with the term “self-gassing Jews?” It’s the reason members of the tribe consistently vote against their interests by voting for people who would gladly vote to load them into boxcars. As an unorthodox Jew (unobservant, way to the right politically, and armed) it makes no sense to me, but there they are.

Dave Slough's avatar

How Jewish and Asians can support a party that hates them is astounding

Suzie's avatar

How about Americans voting for them?

The Dems openly despise this country and all it stands for, and yet, that is literally what their party stands for: hating America and patriotic Americans.

Marlan Hoerer's avatar

Dave Slough's avatar

Half the country hates America thanks to the communists running both public and higher education

steph_gray's avatar

The AmeriPavda media tries hard to persuade us that it's "half." No need to buy it.

I've seen enough to know it's much smaller in numbers.

But what they lack mathematically they make up for in individual virulence!

Solidarity thought they were a small movement in Poland. When the Pope made his first visit, they decided to stand up and show their support and when they looked around, they discovered that they were very large. The same is true for conservatives, we remain largely silent. We don't riot, we have jobs to do. We don't break things because we understand that someone had to work to build those things.

For these reasons and more, we have become a silent majority.

It's time to speak, no, ROAR at the polls.

Reddog's avatar

I very much agree. Take away the money and the media megaphone and you have a much smaller group of radicals who blame their lot in life on America (pick any topic and they will hate it).

Greg's avatar

lol. The media and university professors are the first to “go” once the revolutionaries win.

What about Blacks, the most loyal (and misled) voting block in history, willingly voting for Dems at rates in excess of 90%, and for what? Being kept on a new kind of plantation, welfare, since the rollout of LBJ's Great Society programs in the '60s.

Reddog's avatar

You have to really zero in on the black cultures at play here to understand it.

I worked at large firms that had liberal Jews & orthodox Jews. The orthodox Jews were hostile to the liberal ones & mocked them as phony Jews. I also worked with "self-hating whites" that openly said that they want the white race to be eradicated. I'm glad I'm retired.

Suzie's avatar

Quiet support?! Hardly. The captured media own the lionshare of responsibility for the immense damage and destruction that is being waged upon this country.

And as for the people who buy into it, it just reveals their darkened souls and grotesquely ignorant minds.

America is in late stages of empire. See the parallels to the Roman Empire: foreign wars to distract (although we’re not bringing back any loot), extreme corruption, investigations and punishment (death) of political enemies, populace fat, dumb and happy. It goes on.

People today are either ignoring the danger or too stupid to understand the danger. They’re voting themselves into slavery.

Retirednottired's avatar

Trump is trying to break this, but too many people are too complacent, partly because they have been told to be by the media. They just live their lives, never really looking past their own front yard, never letting themselves worry about the whole thing crashing to the ground, not wanting to believe that things could turn bad in a heartbeat and crush their calm little lives. Mad Max is not that far away.

William Peterson's avatar

33% of the Jewish Population voted for Mamdani, though Cuomo secured 67%! Nonetheless, if the NYC mayoral race were held today, I am sure the percentage would be substantially lower, but Hindsight is always 20/20 which tells me critical thought is lacking in that sector of the Jewish community! But then again, critical thinking is not in the DNA of 65% of the democratic party! The Balance are critical thinkers with criminal intent!

Reddog's avatar

I think most “normal” people are governed by their basic morals in life. We know what is wrong and what is right. Even people with chronic mental diseases understand this at some level. But the parties, the Dems in particular, don’t care. They see everything thru the prism of power because with it comes a lot of perks that allow them to achieve an agenda they could otherwise not achieve without that government power behind them. So they know, in this case, that Plattner is a scumbag, but they tell themselves it is the only way back to power, and after they get it, they will manage Plattner. So you have to ask yourself why would they abandon moral principles like this? What is so attractive about power that they would do this? Answer that and you understand it all. Dems are desperate that Trump could get to nominate one or two more SCOTUS justices effectively installing a right leaning group for decades. Everything the Dems want to achieve to control this country lies thru the SCOTUS. So they will suck it up and hold their noses for Plattner.

Not surprisingly, the vote has been for Dahmer, not mine, but I knew that would be the case. Most readers don't know many of the names except Kennedy, but they all know Dahmer, the killer. Unfortunately, but truer than ever, politics is about POWER and MONEY, not about representing the people who elected our government officials. "Follow the money" has an awful and frightfully realsitic ring in today's politics. The man who was finally 'fairly' elected by the people doesn't need the money and is trying to make America the GREAT country it should be and really IS. Democrats hate him for that. He can't be bought. He can't be bullied. He can't be scandalized. A bullet proof president who outthinks, outwits, and out maneuvers his opposition is a real force to be reckoned with, and the type of force no liberal, a** kissing, money laundering, monkey knows what to do about. The Pres will beat the crap out of the losers for the rest of the presidency, and he will win. I am believing America will win because we all have the same attitude. - "Do your little bit of good where you are. It;s those little bits of good together that overwhelm the world." - Desmond Tutu God bless America!

Joe LaGreca's avatar

Ted Kennedy was the best realistic choice in the poll, but I knew Dahmer would prevail.

John Wiles's avatar

I chose Kennedy too.

steph_gray's avatar

More realistic for sure.

I voted for Dahmer coz it was funnier to my dark humor mind.

WTPuck's avatar

Unfortunately, it's also quite plausible.

The key element, as noted, is that vetting is not needed in the Democratic Party because the elites can excuse ANYTHING in the name of victory. The same folk who call Trump a Nazi, like the clowns on BS-NOW (and that spelling is far more accurate) can find excuses to explain away anything.

The Dems have a guy with a Nazi tattoo running for Senate from Maine, a vehement anti-Israel, anti-Semitic guy running to win the Dem nomination in Michigan. There's a Dem nominee who defended the people who made an attack on the World Trade Center in New Jersey. A candidate in NY who denies the reality of Israel. A woman who actually did lose a primary but not by much in Texas who wants Jews in concentration camps and castrated.

But who do the elite media folk call Nazis? The ones who oppose that. And since unlike X, people can't really answer back, the credulous will believe them.

Suzie's avatar

Makes you realize why politicians think their constituents are stupid sheep, because they run these utterly despicable, stupid, and downright evil candidates, like Biden, Kamala, Zohran, Platner and the guy in NJ who cheered and supported the blind shiek who bombed NYC, amongst a plethora of other equally as reprehensible types - and their people actually vote for them!

To them, it’s all a game, and merely a quest for more power and more money.

They just want to ransack this country for all its worth and rule over the ashes.

They are even worse than a criminal organization. They are a national security threat.

Cookie McCall's avatar

Don't forget Talafreako in Texas!

Joe LaGreca's avatar

It's the same with Antifa - shouting "fascist" to anyone on the right - while they are the fascists trying to shut down any civil gathering that they do not approve of. The fact that DEM's like Pelosi support those goons is sickening.

steph_gray's avatar

It's the general rules of the left.

Whenever they accuse someone of any particular wrongdoing, it means they have been doing it themselves, probably for a long while.

And whenever they accuse someone of being any particular sort of evil, it means they have probably been that evil thing themselves for their entire lives.

steph_gray's avatar

"BS-NOW" that's a keeper.

Today's Maine men would be unrecognizable to their forefathers, those 250 who charged down from Little Round Top July 2, 1863 saving the Union.

Yesterday, Maine men took a step toward ensuring its destruction.

Brave warriors morphed into sodomizing Cowards.

Douglas Baringer's avatar

And today's Maine men should be ashamed. Heroic deeds should not be dis-honored for base political goals. Joshua Chamberlain led his men for freedom, not partisan politics. The anti-American party must be in short supply of good honest people.

Sam Prentice's avatar

I just re-visited Little Round Top back in the end of April. It still brings the hair up on the back of your neck to visualize what took place there. Amazing men and amazing times!

Richard Luthmann's avatar

The larger point is that political vetting often becomes damage management for the Democrat Party's Fake News Media Industrial Complex. The public is told that scandalous facts are old news, misunderstood, weaponized, redeemed, or irrelevant if the candidate or operative remains useful. Ruemmler’s Epstein ties created reputational fallout at Goldman only after documents became public; Platner’s controversies became a test of whether voters and party actors would prioritize electability, ideology, redemption, or character. That is the story: Democrats do not merely fail to vet. Sometimes they vet, identify the problem, and calculate whether their voters and press machine can be pushed past it.

Shrugged's avatar

A quick review of the Dem platform includes abortion on demand up through due date, sex with minors, men in women's sports and bathrooms, destruction of Christianity and the classic male/females roles to kill the family, and socialism for all meaning we all get the same amount of nothing.

One would have to be a derelict criminal to work for this platform. Platner fits right in. They just aren't able to admit that fact publicly yet.

Marlan Hoerer's avatar

A quick glance at the mayoral farces in Los Angeles and Seattle on the heels of the N.Y.C. election is a guide to msm adeptness at selling snake oil.

Cookie McCall's avatar

Did anybody else hear those man (or) woman on the street interviews with Mainers? They obviously didn't give a damn about Platner's history - la, la, la

Joe LaGreca's avatar

But something that happened with a Republican 20-30 years ago is ripe for exploitation - think George W's drinking & the phony allegations by Dan Rather & Co.

steph_gray's avatar

And that little game is fast losing its effectiveness.

Playswithneedles's avatar

Have you noticed that all of the stories coming out about Platner so far have come from the left? I’m guessing that they wanted to get it out of the way so they could call it their infamous excuse, “old news”.

I’m praying that the Republicans have a barrel full of worse opposition research on that scumbag and have been waiting to release it until after he won the primary. He needs to be taken down asap and the demonicrats need to have him thrown in their faces for years to come.

He’s a shooting spree waiting to happen.

Retirednottired's avatar

Dems have long since proved that you don’t need any to be there.

Suzie's avatar

Graham Platner is a DSA, (Democrat Socialists for America), candidate, joining the ranks of some of their other notable candidates such as AOC, Bernie Sanders and Zoltan Mamdani. They also support other Democrat candidates on election ballots, like Chris Murphy from CT and a plethora of others.

They are an out and out, dyed in the wool Communist party, and proud of it, and walk in lock step with their equally as ugly step-sister, the Democrat party.

This is not a secret, and the fact that voters actually still vote for these people in spite of it, tells you just how far we have fallen as a people in this country.

We Really, really need to win by a landslide in November or we can kiss our butts good-bye.

UncleWiggly's avatar

None of this is new. Ted Kennedy a murderer and rapist was a Democrat leader for most of his life. Even leaving a woman (Mary Jo Kapekne) to drown in his car after he drove it off a bridge while drunk couldn’t sink his political ambitions. A close friend of the Kennedy family said he was appalled at how the Kennedy’s used to joke about Mary Jo Kapeknes death.

Greg Martin's avatar

My wife's late father was a Federal Judge appointed by Carter. He adored Jack Kennedy, wasn't impressed by Bobby and despised Ted. Teddy was campaigning to challenge then sitting President Carter for the nomination in 1980. After a campaign rally in the Judge's home town the Judge leaned into Teddy to tell him where the next campaign stop was and "That they would let him drive because there were no bridges." Teddy took a swing at him. Truth to power. My wife said if her father were alive today he wouldn't be a Democrat.

Taylor Swift has taken over the media today. She was on TV performing with Randy Newman. In 1983 Newman wrote and performed “I Love LA” on MTV. Here are some of the lyrics:

Rollin' down the Imperial Highway

With a big nasty redhead at my side

Santa Ana winds blowin' hot from the north

And we were born to ride

Roll down the window put down the top

Crank up the Beach Boys baby

Don't let the music stop

We're gonna ride it till we just can't ride it no more

From the South Bay to the Valley

From the West Side to the East Side

Everybody's very happy

'Cause the sun is shining all the time

Looks like another perfect day

I love L.A. (We love it)

I love L.A. (We love it)

We love it!

Los Angeles has fallen so far since 1983
