So many conservatives are stupid. Like you said, Maher sometimes says something we all agree with and the stupid conservatives think he is one of us. He is not. Liberals are liberals. A leopard does not change his spots.

I hate that the word liberal has been so bastardized. Bill Maher is not nor ever been a liberal in the classic and original meaning. But, like everything else these days, we're using "1984" as a user manual on how to screw up a good thing, not least of which includes fucking up the English language.

Remember, he’s only saying what they wrote for him. Just like Biden.

Maher has not taken the red pill at all. You are right. He will not change.

Amen AND Amen! You dropped the mic with this one, Don.

"Normal" for the Democrats and many Republicans is the facade. By "normal," Maher means that politicians still go about enriching themselves and neglecting the general citizenry, but they do it without writing "mean" tweets. Maher is a Democrat before he's a liberal (much like Mitt Romney is a Republican before he's a conservative). I don't see the things Maher says that conservatives agree with as good marketing, but instead attempts to wake his party up to the things that will turn off liberal and libertarian independents and thereby cost them elections. Of course, ironically for Maher and something you can take comfort in, the situation he helped create has gotten beyond the power curve, and rather than listen, the "woke" and "woke-sympathetic" are turning on him. So just make some popcorn and sit back and watch the show.

As for "drag queens," the irony is that the concept of gender fluid and drag queen can't coexist. Drag queens *cannot* be anything other than men, by the classic definition of men. A woman cannot be a drag queen. The whole raison d'etre of the drag queen is to be a man dressed as a flamboyant, often hypersexualized woman. So if anyone subscribes wholeheartedly and depends wholeheartedly on the idea that there are in fact only two genders and that they are capable of being highly stereotyped and fixed in their roles and costumes, it is "drag queens." They would not make sense otherwise. And that, folks, is why the alphabet crowd will also eventually eat themselves.

The article said:

Maher once said, “I do think the patriotic thing to do is to critique my country. How else do you make a country better but by pointing out its flaw.

I say:

I never have thought Maher was humorous. There is nothing wrong with critiquing my country. There is plenty wrong with a lying idiot, something homosexuals are known for, to claim they are objective when all they want is attention.

While the 1770's might sound nice, I don't want to go back to chopping wood with an axe and hunting game with a flint lock rifle.

Really don't want to row across the Delaware in a snow storm either.

"Yes, I get that once or twice on his show each week he says something that conservatives may agree with, but that’s just good marketing. I am not so needy to accept a few crumbs while he gives loaves away to libs each week."

The moments that Maher possesses and expresses the clarity of non-leftists (oka normal folks with common sense) while seeming to be more frequent, they are notable not because he's been red-pilled (maybe he has been, maybe not), but because it's coming from one of their own, it's a blow (however soft) for our side. As another subscriber put it, he's a Democrat, first, and he's trying to save his party from the militant woke. Perhaps - I still place very little value on ANYTHING he says publicly.

If the next election is administered equitably, I don't think Biden has a prayer in a contest v Trump - or DeSantis. But, the last one was stolen in broad daylight. They know how to do it, now - and they know they'll never face the consequences.

Trump should win, but chances are he won't for all the reasons we already know.

In today's world there is no difference between Bill Maher and Mitch McConnell or Paul Ryan. They claim one thing and do another. Funny how the ONE guy who did what he said for the most part was pushed out of office...

I have never been more passionately against our completely disconnected ruling class which includes Maher.

This is happening all over the world in western liberal democracies. Why? The education system and greed for graft. The other reason for what has happened to the world since 2020 is in Naomi Wolf's Substack. It makes sense to me more than anything else. Link in Oaf's comment.

As for Maher, just because he says something that resembles sanity once in a blue moon does not mean he is anything but a crazy leftie loon.

I was born in the 50s and grew up in a tiny town. 'Leave It to Beaver' could be a documentary of my childhood. I feel bad for kids today who will never know the tingle of pride when seeing the flag or hearing the National Anthem. And have no idea how fortunate they are to live here.

Mister Don, you do yeoman's work in gathering these proofs of communist perversion. Did godless Vladimir Lenin really say, "Communists are dead men on furlough?" If he didn't, he believed it.

When, in 1962, the Supreme Court of The United States prohibited the Ten Commandments and the Lord's Prayer in U.S. public schools, the slide into godless communist violence and perversion began. Communist monsters have infiltrated and subverted the American Way of Life.

Here's a substack article by a person named Naomi Wolf. She asks, "Have the ancient gods [of evil] returned?" https://naomiwolf.substack.com/p/have-the-ancient-gods-returned

I just read Naomi Wolf's Substack on Have the Ancient Gods Returned. Yes, yes they have. Evil is everywhere. Her explanation for what has happened to the world since 2020 makes total and complete sense to me. I urge all of you to read it. We have broken or are in the process of the final breaking of the Covenant. When you abandon God and Judeo-Christian traditions, this is what you get. And at this point, we are going to get it gooder and harder. But I also believe that it is not too late to change course. One day at a time, one person or small groups at a time.

Hey LuAnn. When Nebuchadnezzar threw those three young men into the furnace because they refused to worship the golden idol (or take the "golden vaccination") the angel of Christ walked with them in the fire. Not a hair on their head was singed.

So it is with those of us who follow the leadership of Christ's Spirit today. These communist creeps are gonna blaze away but s-u-p-e-r-n-a-t-u-r-a-l means "more natural." God's way of doing things will always be more natural than any of the best man-made stuff of any kind. Things may get somewhat unpleasant but God's children will not be undone. It is a Promise. The first 10 verses of Psalm 91 cover the whole waterfront of whatever evil Satan and evil men cook up. P.S. I really hope Naomi Wolf comes all the way to Life in Christ.

Expand full comment

Wolf makes the point that God's promise can be undone if we do not do our part. Wolf is an observant Jew but she is quite familiar with Christianity. We cannot doubt her commitment to God. Over the years, she has gone from the left to the right, a journey so many of us have made.

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

I feel conflicted. It is important to call out the degeneracy, hypocrisy, and evil of the left. But why write an article that just amplifies the voice of their spokespeople?

Because too many people get duped by the likes of the Bill Mahers’.

Don said it best:

“But he reserves that patriotism to himself and others on the left. Yes, I get that once or twice on his show each week he says something that conservatives may agree with, but that’s just good marketing. I am not so needy to accept a few crumbs while he gives loaves away to libs each week.

Praising Biden as normal shows either Maher is an idiot or he believes we are. He has to say these things to keep his HBO gig because while he can praise al-Qaeda, if he insists on telling the truth, he’s gone.”

BOOM.

Victor Davis Hanson has a good article in American Greatness today that serves as a companion piece to Don's. Great minds....

With Don's piece today, the VDH piece and Naomi Wolf on Substack -- it's a trifecta of explaining what is happening in our world today. You won't see anything like that from the left. These three pieces logically explain what has gone wrong. I highly recommend all three to help make sense of our world. Certainly, since 2020 we have gone right off the tracks.

Bill Maher and Greg Gutfeld got together recently in a podcast and interviewed each other for over an hour while smoking weed and throwing back some lovely adult beverages. I really enjoyed the "normality" watching them, I think they were both surprised they really liked each other. Enjoy :)
