Abbott is applying the logic of "Make them live by their own rules".

I hope the left drowns in them.

Until the Left has to deal with the consequences, they wont change. Abbott is making them deal with their own decisions. While I wish it was faster, this will eventually work. If Abbott wasnt doing this, then we would all drown longer.

I get where you are coming from, and, finally, a brighter light is being shone on the issue but it will not - I believe cannot - move Biden to shut the door. This is not just the US’ hand at play here, there are forces well beyond our shores who all have a hand in this. What the Biden admin will attempt to do is throw more money - our money- at these blue states to bail them out and shut them up.

We are under invasion, and this administration has opened the door for our enemies across the world to walk right in, and create utter havoc.

I believe it could be construed as treasonous, in aiding and abetting the enemy. It’s just a matter of time until we have a terrorist attack or some devastating event. I’m sure they are being planned.

Everything you say is correct - and we all (probably) agree with you. My question is why do we see the nefarious actions and evil desires so clearly and those supposedly on our side just sit and twiddle their thumbs? I'm tired of watching and waiting on this border issue. If nobody's going to step up and stop it, then cram and crowd these poor people down their throats. And, yes, our "Congress" will most likely vote some kind of bailout with our tax money - with the support of our own republicans.

what sucks is they will bail out the blue cities and not the real issue. Cynicism abounds this morning.

I truly think that we send ok people but they get to DC then either they get bought, were bought before they got there (RINOs or Dems hiding as Repubs, not necessarily the same thing) or the alphabet soup agencies find dirt on them and tell them to get with the program. That is why Trump pissed them off so much. He couldnt be bought, and after what 7 plus yrs of intense investigations, they havent found anything? So he couldnt be blackmailed.

Yes, I suppose, if you live in the leftist sanctuary city. Look at it this way: The conservatives aren't doing anything to fight the massive immigration under Biden so it is quite gratifying to see the left's own actions destroying their garbage-pit cities and their credibility.

Conspicuous by her absence in your options is Kari Lake. There is still a sliver of a chance that she could become the lawful governor of Arizona, as they have none now.

We Texans are happy that Abbott has done some smart things, but disappointed that he hasn't done enough of them. He let some opportunities slip by him. Tucker has noticed this as well.

Yep! Republican governors, DA’s, state legislators and Senators should be suing the federal government for 10th amendment violations and all other illegality the federal government is pushing down our throat. They should rally their states like our founding fathers rallied our fledgling nation. They should also invite red areas in blue states to join the suit. That is the minimum but a start!

While I agree Abbott’s (and DeSantis’) illegals transports have accomplished much in highlighting many of the harsher realities of our open borders dangers to this country, I still feel Abbott could have done more on his own state’s border to impede their influx, I.e. build his own wall, post the National Guard there, send them back to Mexico instead of into the country. I don’t really know how viable any of those things might be, but they can’t be any more “illegal” than what Biden and Mayorkas are doing. There needs to be a showdown at the border.

And even so, we now stand at approximately 7 million people - or more - who have infiltrated into the country, and we have NO IDEA who most of those of those people are, where they are from, or what we have unleashed here.

Aiding in this destruction, are multiple NGO’s who are orchestrating this surge, most from our country and others from other countries (including Catholic Charities), USING OUR TAX DOLLARS, giving away phones with specialized apps and full color brochures with maps, directions and instructions at checkpoints all along Central America, guiding the mass influx.

It is incomprehensibly lawless, evil and extraordinarily dangerous.

It is an absolute National Security Crisis if ever there was one.

Trump said he was going to institute the most massive deportation effort ever when he’s re-elected. Your idea of relocating all the FBI to the border is genius for two reasons: it not only increases the manpower there, but it also resolves the challenge in just outright firing Federal employees. Because when you offer them “a choice” of a different position they have to either take IT, or voluntarily resign. That settles that big problem right there, so it would be a two-fer!

Maybe Trump told her, "No dice." So she is like a bug on water chasing after whatever seems like the hot deal of the day.

I would pick Noem, but I chose RFK Jr in the poll as this would overcome ALL ballot harvesting. RFK Jr. just went to the border and went on camera with Tucka to report that Trump was RIGHT on the border; any man that admits he was wrong in public setting deserves a look even though he still appears to be an eco-terrorist...

Not knocking Camp Surber here, just opining, but Abbott is establishment - why the hell has he not shut or policed the border? Frankly, imho, this is an invasion and should be treated as such; the cartels are either paying our politicians off or threatening them which means us while raping women and collecting billions.

Ken Paxton is the one to be celebrated as the establishment is working to impeach this duly elected officer against the will of the People; the Texas statehouse is majority 'republican' with 12 democrats posing as republicans working against the People.

I probably sound like a broken record about Larry Elder, and I far and away back Trump 100% for President. But Elder would be a good VP. He is no pushover and has been thru the grinder, even competing very well in hard blue California, before voting fraud stole his gubernatorial victory.

The fact that the RINO RNC considered Elder enough of a threat to corruptly deny him a podium at the last Republican debate shows that they know he’s a threat. He also has years of practice on his radio show at articulating America First positions. And as a black he hugely undercuts the Left’s “racist Republicans” smear.

His weakness—which is also the weakness of ALL the other Republican candidates (EXCEPT Trump) is that he’s not financially savvy enough to deal with the coming national financial disaster, when our currency goes in to the toilet and all hell breaks loose. Only Trump will be able to keep his head above water and avoid getting sucked in to Leftish-type responses that would only make things worse.

Expand full comment

Actually, Byron Donalds would also be a better VP choice than all the others except Larry Elder. He is also black, but his career background is in finance, so he might (or might not) be better prepared to deal with a financial crisis. But I guess there’s the problem that Byron is also from Florida, so couldn’t share a ticket with Trump.

But Byron Donalds could be a real possibility to replace Kevin McCarthy as Speaker of the House, if McCarthy goes down this fall. Byron’s name was one of the few mentioned as an alternative to McCarthy during the last extended vote for Speaker.

Byron Donalds is new, only in his second House term (but had been in Florida legislature before). But he is genuinely dynamic— maybe could be as dynamic as Trump himself. He has consistently stepped up on the national stage as a powerful communicator for America First policy and in defending Trump. He is a rising star with a lot of substance.

We shouldn’t just blanket reject all the current Republican House and Senate members— there’s some true heroes already in office—as per Don Surber’s column yesterday about Tommy Tubervillle.

It's called The Great Replacement Theory:

'The “great replacement” theory, in simple terms, states that welcoming immigration policies — particularly those impacting nonwhite immigrants — are part of a plot designed to undermine or “replace” the political power and culture of white people living in Western countries.'

The opposition to the invasion of the illegals has NOTHING to do with race or white supremacy.

Abbott is making the Democrat virtue signalers walk it like they talk it. They can’t. And it’s a good lesson to all - Dems are all hat and no cattle. Stand up to them. They will fold faster than you think.

But here’s the other side off this. If Abbott had Trump sized cojones, if any of the RINO governors, who are all bought off by the donor class, actually cared, they’d call out the national guard and prevent entry to the USA. This is an illegal invasion. And none of our “leaders “will do a thing to stop it. They are all in on it. Abbott included. Losers.

"'Woburn mayor Scott Galvin said by Friday there were about 150 families living in the city’s hotels, an arrangement he called unsustainable for his 40,000 constituents.'"

Boo-freakin'-hoo.

"Mayor Bass said, 'It is evil to endanger the lives of vulnerable migrants by sending a bus with families and toddlers on board to a city that at the time was under an unprecedented tropical storm warning.'"

How the hell would she know from evil? By the way, it isn't - doesn't everyone dream of living in California, just like the song by The Mamas & the Papas?

"Amnesty International reported, 'An estimated 6 out of 10 migrant women and girls experience sexual violence, allegedly prompting some people smugglers to demand that women receive contraceptive injections ahead of the journey...'"

What gentlemen they are...as Mary Clayton sang on that song by the Rolling Stones:

"Rape, murder, it's just a shot away

It's just a shot away"

"Mayor Eric Adams claimed in stark terms that New York City was being destroyed by an influx of 110,000 asylum seekers from the southern border and said that he did not see a way to fix the issue."

WAH!

"[He] said, 'Let me tell you something New Yorkers, never in my life have I had a problem that I did not see an ending to — I don’t see an ending to this. This issue will destroy New York City.'"

It sounds like what the mayor needs is a wahmbulance.

"Barely 1% of the city’s population is illegal aliens."

Eric Adams is a pussy.

"But the hero in all this is Governor Abbott."

It's nice that there is, at least, one achievement of the Abbott administration of which we, in Texas, can be proud. God knows there is precious little else.

I opted for Noem the last time her name was an option, but I'll choose Vivek this time because he's the "ideoligical" heir to Trump's MAGA - his candidacy could force a fissure so great in the GOPe that history repeats itself, and a new party displaces the Democrat-lite Republican Party of old.

Imagine these politically homeless RINOs having to go up against genuinely blue Democrats, and losing primary elections in spectacular fashion.

Yes, Vivek has made it clear he has no interest in serving as veep - but only because he hasn't been asked. It's tough to turn down the opportunity to be one heartbeat - or one bullet - away from the office of the president.
